4-Star Hotels in Hamburg

This hotel is pretty good, a nice choice for business travelers. The room isn't huge, but there's still enough space to open a suitcase. Overall, it's decent.

My stay at the Crowne Plaza Hamburg - City Alster was absolutely superb. From the moment I arrived, the elegant and professional atmosphere was noticeable. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, with a incredibly comfortable bed and a fantastic view. The location is also ideal for both enjoying the beautiful Alster lake and accessing the city center. It’s the attentive service and premium amenities that set this hotel apart. I felt thoroughly pampered and would not hesitate to return for another luxurious stay.

Overall the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Two points worth noting that guests should be aware of: 1. The curtain pocket (the part at the top that hides the curtain rail) is not deep enough, so plenty of light comes in around it. For people use to full blackout in bedrooms, this may be disturbing - especially when the sun rises in the morning. 2. As noted in some other reviews, the pillows are EXTREMELY low density. They are so low density, that there is close to zero support once lying on them and the weight of your head has compressed the filling (down I think). I fortunately brought my own pillow, however if I had not, this review score would be much lower as it would have made it difficult for me to sleep the pillows are so unusually soft/airy.

The location is super central. The main train station (Hbf), the shopping promenade, and Europa-Passage are all within walking distance. Jungfernstieg and the Inner Alster lake are also very easy to reach. There are at least three U-Bahn (subway) stations within a 5-minute walk, making it incredibly easy to explore the entire city with an HVV ticket.

I was business in Hamburg and I felt very well at the hotel. The location in the middle of the city is really ideal, many is fast walkable, which is very practical for a short business trip. Especially positive I found the friendly staff, you feel directly welcome. A very pleasant stay overall. When I'm back in business in Hamburg, I'm happy to come back.

The location: The hotel is extremely centrally located. All major attractions are easily accessible. The highlight: The view from our room was simply breathtaking and unforgettable. The breakfast: The morning buffet was very extensive and offered a huge selection of fresh dishes. There was something for every taste. Conclusion: An all-around successful weekend. We will definitely come again!

This hotel is excellent. It has a very old English feel which makes you feel comfortable. That, plus the very friendly and helpful service-orientated nature of the staff made this stay very pleasant indeed. The amenities are also comfortable, the food is excellent and there is plenty of space to relax.

This was our second time at the Intercity Hotel, because of the great price and super convenient location directly opposite the main train station with S/U-Bahn and bus lines 👍🏼. The breakfast room is a bit dated, but the staff were friendly and the breakfast was reasonably varied. Unfortunately, as in every hotel, the bathroom lighting was a disaster and the bathroom itself was very small. And of course, the parking fees of €25 per day… which seems to be the norm in all hotels now.

The hotel itself and the rooms have seen better days. The walls and carpet show significant wear and tear. The furniture in the room, however, is still in very good condition, almost like new. Our room (Economy) was extremely small, as was the bathroom. It's okay for one night on a city trip, but not suitable for longer stays. The surrounding area is quite noisy (traffic). On the plus side: exterior blinds for blackout.

Hygiene: as always good. Environment: The location is as general as ever, and there are supermarket restaurants nearby. There is a fried fish restaurant, which is affordable and delicious. Service: as always good. Facilities: as always good.
