GGuest UserThe Barcelo is located about 5 minutes walk from the main train station but in a quiet area. The rooms themselves are very clean, ultra modern and elegantly decorated in light colours. The bed is very comfortable and the shower and bathroom facilities were excellent. Having a laptop sized safe is also extremely convenient. The only downside is that I found the corridors very dark and dimly lit - I assume this is for environmental reasons - but as a lone female traveller it made me feel a bit uneasy

SsvpenalA fantastic experience! The supermarket and laundromat are within walking distance, and the breakfast service was excellent. Breakfast included my favorite German and European pickles, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, crispy fried bacon, various honeys, a wide selection of breads, four types of yogurt, and a variety of fruits to add to the yogurt, as well as fresh fruit. There were also many unique juice options, and iced and sparkling water choices. A quick greeting from the staff allows you to bring your own coffee or hot tea to the smoking area outside (but remember to return empty cups to the restaurant).

AAnnie LSPThe room comes with 1 queen size sofa bed and a toilet once you open the room door. Then there is a sliding door. Once you open the sliding door you will see a king size bed and a shower room with bath tub and toilet.
There are 2 TVs, 4 pairs of room slippers.
Room size is comfortable for 4 adults.
At lobby the hotel provide welcome drinks and cookies. Also packet juice and morning coffee.
The hotel is opposite the terminal 1 main entrance. Has to walk cross the road and it was snowing when we were there, very cold.

GGuest UserThis hotel is excellent. It has a very old English feel which makes you feel comfortable. That, plus the very friendly and helpful service-orientated nature of the staff made this stay very pleasant indeed.
The amenities are also comfortable, the food is excellent and there is plenty of space to relax.

ににょむI stayed here for three nights during my 22-night trip across Europe.
First of all, the location of the inn is very close to the subway station, so it is very accessible. There is only one subway line, but that can't be helped as most stations in Hamburg only have one line. It is a direct line from Hamburg South Station (located in the central station), and it is also close to the station where you can transfer, so it was not inconvenient. You can walk to the warehouse district from the inn, and you can take a train to the pier where the boat to the theater departs and the station nearest to the fish market that is held on Sundays.
The inn is very clean, spacious, and the kitchen facilities are excellent.
The fact that it has a washing machine is a big plus (although the drying function was poor so I ended up drying the clothes in the room).
There is no bathtub, only a shower. I think this is normal for a European hotel.
The only thing I regret is that, although it can't be helped, the room unlocking system was down, so I had to call someone at the front desk every time I wanted to enter my room (they handled it with a smile, but I felt bad because I was in and out of the inn so often)

KKerstin KaehlerYou can’t beat the location for public transport convenience: Barmbek subway and S-Bahn as well as bus hub is directly beside the Intercity Hotel and its just four stops from Hamburg Airport. I liked the breakfast buffet very much, as it’s a typical German style breakfast: müsli and cereal choices as well as fresh vegetables and fruit and different kinds of grain bread, eggs, pancakes… Be aware that the rooms are very clean upon arrival however; you will need to order cleaning DURING your stay a day in advance. It’s free, of course, but as part of their environmentally conscious program they provide cleaning on demand during stays only. For me, that is a BIG PLUS as I try to travel green.

VVevenOne of my best stays in Germany. The room was spacious, very clean, and I especially loved the strong hair dryer. The bed was also very comfortable.
The only downside: The hotel is about a 12–15 minute walk from the nearest train station, but the route is not pedestrian-friendly, especially if you’re carrying luggage. During my stay, there was road construction, and we had to drag our suitcases across uneven, rocky ground, which made the walk quite tough.

However, the amenities are lacking. There’s not even a kettle to boil hot water in the room. Nor coffee and tea.
