Ff/stop nomadFrom the moment we stepped into the lobby lounge area, there was a sense we were in for an elevated experience. I must say, as someone unaccustomed to booking small boutique properties, that I had my fears and doubts. Walking into the lobby lounge almost erased all of those worries.
The first thing that one notices immediately is how clean everything is - from the pool and lawn area, to the lobby itself, and then the rooms. It really brings a sense of calm and ease.
With everything in the hotel there is so much intention and thoughtfulness to the details that make the experience so zen-like. This isnât merely a property that wants to imitate a certain aesthetic in a cosmetic way, but rather something with a soulful integrity to it in the choice of materials that work in harmony.
My kids loved their stay here and even made several new friends; they all had fun running around the pool, or playing in the playground area. The playground itself is very simple, but with a group of kids even a simple playground comes to life.
The property is situated right along the Yulong River and throughout the day you see bamboo rafters drifting down the river and my wife found this very relaxing.
The pool is gorgeous. Itâs also very observably clean. While it was a bit chilly, my kids couldnât resist and took a dip. While my elder child was able to handle the cold and swam quite a while, my younger one ended up in the bathtub on the balcony where I filled it with warm water so he had a chance to splash about as well.
The property is also nestled amongst the tall karst mountains and you have an intimate view of them. As far as being a picture perfect property, this is as close as it gets.
As for practical matters: toilets were clean with bidet function; we never had an issue with hot water; all electric sockets were universal; the appliances all worked as expected.
Now, no property can be perfect and there are things that might be a matter of preference or interpretation. For me, I would say the rooms are cosier than the pictures might indicate. To be clear, the photos are accurate as far as how the rooms look and feel and also the layouts. But the photos are shot with a wide-angle lens, so just expect a slightly tighter lived-in experience. On this platform, the listed size of the rooms are large. For instance I believe the room I booked is listed at 100 metres squared; this, to me, most certainly includes the terrace as the indoor space doesnât match my experience of 100 metres squared.
The rooms are designed to maximise a sense of airiness and space which creates a lovely atmosphere, but of course this comes with some sacrifices. With my room, to achieve a more open feel, there is no partition separating the washroom area from the living room area. As a family this wasnât a big deal, but if youâre staying with a friend this could be potentially awkward but also easily manageable.
The food is terrific and the portions are generous. For some, they might find the breakfast somewhat repetitive (as some other reviewers have commented) but my family had no issues and rather looked forward to breakfast here! The coffee is also terrific. Really. I ended up buying the beans they use for their coffees.
The lunch/dinner menu is also strong, although for children it can be a bit limiting although the staff do try to make accommodations as far as spice levels, etc.
All in all, I would easily stay here again. It is true that the price point is on the higher end for Yangshuo, and that some people might not see the pure bang for your buck value in it, but if youâre looking for a headache free, clean, zen-like experience with picturesque views, I canât recommend this property enough.

YYSHKMy mum and I stayed here for four days during our visit to Yangshuo, and I can honestly say Iâve never experienced anything quite like this hotel.
There are so many thoughtful touches that make it truly special. One of the standout features is the unlimited drinks service. You can order a range of delicious coffees and teas and have them delivered anywhere in the hotel. Every single one we tried was excellent.
Each evening between 9:30-11:30pm, the hotel offers complimentary healthy snacks delivered straight to your room, which was such a lovely touch. Also, mini fridge is also fully stocked and completely free, with a great selection of drinks.
Housekeeping is exceptional! They clean your room twice a day and even message you in advance to arrange times that suit you, ensuring youâre never disturbed.
We were also treated to a complimentary afternoon tea one day, along with fruit and cakes brought up to our room. Another unique feature was the cosmetic fridge, stocked with face masks, hand masks, makeup remover, hand cream, and other beauty items, all included as part of the stay. They also provide extras like wet wipes, rain covers, laundry bags, and eye masks, which really shows their attention to detail.
Breakfast each morning was incredible. Everything is freshly prepared, and you can order as much as you like from both the Western and local menu.
The heated pool, with its beautiful views, made it the perfect place to relax.
Honestly, one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Guilin was this hotel. The rooms are stunning, the location is ideal, and the service is truly exceptional. I canât recommend Tong Hotel highly enough, thank you for such a wonderful stay!

GGuest UserI absolutely adored the little animals at the hotel! I originally booked the Banyan Tree, but I really didn't like its decor style, so I spontaneously switched to Jiu Rang, and it was a HUGE, huge surprise!!! I feel like the service is in the style of a Japanese hotel â polite, accommodating, but still giving guests a certain sense of privacy and space, which is so important. I haven't stayed in a more satisfying hotel at a similar price point in China.
I only stayed in Yangshuo for a short time, just five nights at Jiu Rang, but I could feel their utmost effort to make guests comfortable. I think only small-scale hotels (with fewer rooms) can achieve this level of service.
First, the fresh flowers. I didn't pay much attention to the flowers for the first three days, and when I finally noticed them, they were a bit wilted. After I mentioned it to the butler, they sent over a big bouquet of fresh flowers (P3). And here's something detail-oriented people will definitely love! For the afternoon tea, I usually left the strawberry leaves aside. The second time I had afternoon tea, the strawberry leaves had already been removed (P2)! You can tell they pay attention and improve! Also, the mini-bar and snacks are replenished daily. I only drank two fruit drinks from the mini-bar, and when they restocked, they replaced the flavors I had finished and added new ones. Kudos to the housekeeping auntie!
Ordering takeout was a little inconvenient; some restaurants didn't deliver, and those that did would leave it at the hotel entrance. Luckily, the butler would help bring it to my room door.
The cleanliness was absolutely superb. They never touched any of my belongings (the previous luxury brand hotel I stayed at would fold my clothes, which I found quite intrusive⌠this place didn't do that).
The last picture shows the view from the room â there's a heart-shaped mountain, haha, though it wasn't very clear due to the fog. You can usually spot it though.
I think it's perfect for people who value privacy and quiet. In short, if I ever come back to Yangshuo, I will only choose this hotelâşď¸đ

DdyhxThe hotel is situated in a town, çŚĺŠé that's a further distance from central Yangshuo but truly a class of its own.
The service is impeccable (already been corresponding with them via Wechat to make arrangements, they could also help to book attraction tickets), the views are amazing, it's as if the hotel is built within a big garden. The room is huge and comfy! With a full floor to ceiling sliding door, one gets a lovely view of the hills. Falling asleep to a view like this and waking up to a view like this, this is the kind of place you want to spend a weekend away from the city buzz and do nothing but laze in bed feeling pampered.
I had a twin room but each bed is a queen size and good for 4 pax to share. The room rate also included several items such as two-way transport (to and fro West Street or other locations within the city), two-way boat ride, a 1 hr photoshoot (outsourced function, advance appointment required), a local Afternoon Tea, daily breakfast and a traditional fan-drawing experience. The bathroom is huge, with a bathtub, a separate standing shower and toilet. All amenities are provided including a coffee machine. I like that the bed is firm and pillow gives great support, best pillow so far! I also like that the wardrobe is an open concept. The only area of improvement is probably the security, anyone is able to take the lift to the rooms directly.
The breakfast is simple but interesting that they offer you to create your own Guilin Mifen, a local noodle specialty.

NNil unnamedWe celebrated a birthday at the hotel this time and dined on our room's balcony. The decorations were provided free of charge, and the staff were very accommodating, promptly addressing any issues we had. When I suddenly needed to print some work documents, the service staff also helped us out immediately. Knowing we drink a lot of water, they prepared 8 bottles for us every day.
They offered a free 30-minute photoshoot with a red tea theme. The photographer was great, guiding us on poses, and the whole interaction was very pleasant. We got 3 retouched photos for free, with additional photos available for a fee. The staff member who helped us select the photos was very respectful and easy to work with.
My only minor complaint is that it takes 4 hours to fill the hot tub in the room. This was too long, and by the time it was full around midnight, we couldn't use it. It would be helpful if guests were informed in advance that the hot tub takes 4 hours to fill, so they can plan their time accordingly. I hope this can be communicated to future guests.
The front desk and restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful. They even gave us a small gift when we checked out. Thank you!

YysunI stayed here back in 2017 and it left a deep impression. Nine years later, I've brought my family to check it out again, and it feels like the hotel hasn't changed much; it's still very well-maintained overall. It seems to be quite popular internationally now, as I'd estimate nearly half the guests are from overseas. The Chinese restaurant at night, however, wasn't as good as I remembered; there's definitely a lot of room for improvement.

GGuest UserWe paid extra to upgrade to a family room, which had two beds â one king-sized and one single. The bedding was super comfortable, and the hotel's environment was lovely. They have peacocks, ducks, and geese roaming freely around the hotel grounds, which my child absolutely loved feeding. The different areas of the hotel are a bit spread out, but adding Vicky, our butler, on WeChat made getting service really convenient and prompt. We needed bottled water to prepare formula for our baby, and they sent up plenty of bottles. My child also really enjoyed the small gift left during turndown service. We'd definitely go back if we have the chance!

⢠This time, I stayed in a garden room, which comes with its own small garden, complete with rattan chairs and a small tea table. Sitting here in the morning, enjoying the breeze and surrounded by greenery, is incredibly therapeutic.
⢠The âSky Mirrorâ observation deck on the top floor is definitely a prime photo spot! The mirror reflection perfectly replicates Guilin's landscapes, making you feel like you're floating in a painting. Cheongsams and New Chinese style outfits look absolutely divine here, and yourćĺĺ will explode with likes! đĽ
⢠I highly recommend the hotel's mountain-view afternoon tea! The three-tiered stand is loaded with exquisite pastries, savory snacks, and fresh fruits, paired with beautifully crafted specialty drinks. Sitting on the observation terrace, feeling the mountain breeze and gazing at the lush, overlapping peaks, with a bite of dessert and a sip of tea, all your fatigue simply melts away.

Yangshuo Huashan Yunshe truly brought all my imaginings of a scenic hotel to life!
We stayed in the 'View of the Sun' suite, which came with a huge balcony. In the morning, I could lie in bed and watch the clouds roll by and the sun rise in the east. In the evening, sipping tea on the balcony, I watched the sunset paint the mountains golden â it was incredibly therapeutic. The room has an elegant Chinese style, with warm wooden furniture, soft bedding, and amenities from a natural herbal brand. Every detail shows thoughtfulness.
The service was absolutely perfect! Our butler contacted us in advance, provided free transfers, and was attentive and considerate throughout our stay. All three meals were included, and the ingredients were fresh. The 88-meter infinity mirror pool is stunning, reflecting the blue sky, white clouds, and mountains â every photo you take looks like a masterpiece.
During our two days here, we were completely away from the hustle and bustle; time truly slowed down. This is what a vacation should be like â a real paradise on earth.

GGuest UserPros: The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from QianGuQing Park. The hotel environment and rooms are very comfortable. Although the view isn't of a scenic landscape painting, the room decor and materials are exquisite, and everything is spotlessly clean. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent. The shower stall is huge and surprisingly has two sets of showerheads! The butler service was also very efficient and satisfactory.
Cons: There's a large new hotel construction project next to the hotel. There are various machine noises during the day, but it's quiet at night. However, the room soundproofing is so good that once the doors and windows are closed, you can't hear any outside noise at all. I am a bit concerned for the hotel, though, as once the new hotel next door is completed, it might obstruct some of the current views.
Overall, I was very satisfied with this stay and have already recommended it to several friends.
