"Five-star review | Family stay experience at Sugar House Yangshuo ✨ Our family of three chose Sugar House for our trip, and the overall experience was perfect, highly recommended for families with kids! The hotel, a renovated old sugar mill, blends industrial architecture with the stunning Guilin landscape, creating an incredible atmosphere where every photo looks like a masterpiece. The room was spacious and clean, with a great view from the balcony. The butler service was attentive and thoughtful, responding quickly to any issues. We even received complimentary welcome fruit upon check-in – the attention to detail was excellent. I have to rave about the two activities our child loved the most! The infinity pool had clean water and was backed by the karst mountains, making splashing around incredibly fun. Adults could also relax and enjoy the scenery. Then there was the delightful 'hanging basket snack' activity: when the rattle drum sounded, we'd lower the bamboo basket from our balcony and receive a basket full of snacks. Our child absolutely loved it and was always excited for this part, which felt fresh and new every time. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety, and the Guilin rice noodles were authentic and delicious. The hotel's public areas were beautiful, and there were several family-friendly activities, so we didn't need to go far to have a fulfilling time. It truly felt like a vacation, and I highly recommend it for families. We'll definitely be back!"

"Banyan Tree's quality is consistently reliable. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the Li River, the hotel itself offers picturesque views at every turn. The air is fresh, creating a strong sense of relaxation and vacation. The rooms are spacious, well-sectioned, clean, and tidy. The photos accurately reflect the reality, and the decor and furnishings have an artistic touch. The service is excellent, with Butler Emily responding promptly. Since I was traveling with elderly family members, she kindly arranged an extra breakfast for me. Breakfast was abundant, with a wide variety of choices. The sofa bed service, which the hotel provides for free, is very convenient for families with children and deserves praise. Getting a taxi from the hotel is also very easy, especially after peak hours."

"My stay at the Xiangzhang Hotel was a great experience! The hotel is located within the Ten-Mile Gallery scenic area, boasting a beautiful environment with independent small quadrangle courtyards. The rooms are spacious and include a separate living room. Breakfast is à la carte, allowing you to try various styles of delicious and exquisite dishes. The butler was very responsible; they responded quickly whenever I had a question. I also want to give a special shout-out to the travel photographer, Chenchen 📸. Her photography skills are outstanding! She's great at finding angles and guides poses naturally, resulting in stunning photos. Even the original shots have a wonderful ambiance. I'm very satisfied and highly recommend her! Additionally, the hotel's spa is worth trying; the masseuses are from Bali and their techniques are professional."

"Before we even arrived, the butler reached out via Wechat and helped us organize everything. She got us discounted tickets, took us to the locations, and solved everything promptly. For foreigners, this is especially useful as the location is a bit remote and information can be hard for find. Thank you Viv and Yalina! The hotel is beautiful, divided into 8 buildings, but drivers are allocated to help move around and also into the city for free. They also help with booking taxis if you get stuck (like we did after Ruyi peak when we couldn’t get Didis anymore) The pool is nothing extra however. You can take nice pictures, but that’s it. The laundry ‘room’ is basically two machines in a tight space, not at all on level with the rest of the establishment. The photography session is a nice add-on, because it wouldn’t be worth the money 😅 The props are old and weird, not exactly resembling the aesthetic pictures you see online. The ladder to heaven has paint peeling left and right and the Hobbit houses had some brightly coloured dolls in front."

"We spent our vacation with our family and were absolutely delighted 😍 We especially liked the pool: there are comfortable sofas and tables around it, you can order drinks and food without leaving the water, and just relax. The pool offers an incredibly beautiful view of the mountains — that’s a separate pleasure ⛰️ Our room was very spacious and had a beautiful view. The bathroom is large and has all the necessary amenities: a freestanding bathtub, a separate shower, and a toilet. The minibar was replenished every day. All our requests during the stay were handled very quickly👌 The breakfasts are good, they’re more like European ones — that’s a big plus for foreign tourists. The hotel restaurant is delicious, and the selection of dishes is extensive. There’s a children’s room and two pools for kids, where our children spent the whole day. The hotel is perfect for a family holiday. We recommend it and would be happy to come back again!☺️☀️"

"Traveling to Yangshuo with kids, the biggest fear is boredom, but not here at all! With a kids' playground and swimming pool, the little ones had an absolute blast, completely freeing up the parents. The room details were also very thoughtfully considered, making us feel completely at ease. The service was also heartwarming, from the communication after booking to our departure, every staff member was all smiles. The afternoon tea was also a pleasant surprise. I especially want to commend the breakfast rice noodles. The complimentary travel photography experience provided by the hotel was fantastic, capturing some amazing, magazine-worthy shots."

"The floor-to-ceiling window in the room offered an absolutely stunning view. Opening the window revealed the green mountains and the Yulong River, making for incredible photos. I specifically chose this hotel for the window view and the swimming pool, and my child absolutely loved it upon arrival. **Environment:** A thousand square meters of lawn plus an infinity pool. The mountain-and-water themed blue pool was perfect for amazing pictures. **Activities:** Free-roaming deer, daily cormorant fishing performances, lacquer fan making, and petting zoo feeding. **Food & Stay:** With its own restaurant, we spent the whole day at the hotel and didn't bother eating out. The hotel food was also excellent, and they even offered free sweet soup in the evening. It was a welcome escape from the noise of crowded guesthouses. The hotel buildings were well-equipped, and the soft furnishings, with their wooden and Instagrammable style, were top-notch. There was no need to rush. We spent the whole day leisurely, relaxing on the lawn, playing in the pool, and feeding the deer. It felt like many hotels and cafes in Yangshuo have great aesthetics, and the scenery is beautiful, but the street aesthetics are truly dismal. This was my child's first travel photoshoot. Usually, they refuse to be photographed, but the Miao ethnic costumes for the photoshoot at the hotel were beautiful and relatively clean, so we were able to get some great shots right there. Thumbs up! The shoot was quick, which was great since it was hot, allowing us to quickly get our photos and head back to the hotel for coffee."

"Our trip to Yangshuo was a delightful surprise, thanks to Qiyue Riverside Hotel. It's nestled right along the Yulong River, offering stunning karst peaks visible right from your window, and is wonderfully quiet, away from the bustling city. The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows that let you enjoy the scenery right from your bed. The bathtub, with its scenic views, makes for a truly relaxing soak. Plus, the smart home system throughout the room is super convenient. The hotel grounds offer excellent amenities – the large lawn and infinity pool are perfect for photos, and the petting zoo is a big hit with kids. The sixth-floor viewing terrace offers unparalleled views, ideal for enjoying afternoon tea while watching bamboo rafts gently drift down the Yulong River. The staff are attentive and thoughtful, even offering free shuttle service to and from the county town, making travel hassle-free. It's a perfect spot for both romantic getaways and family vacations. We'll definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Yangshuo."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Tui Blue. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of West street, but only a 12yen didi there. The views are stunning, including of the romance park across the street. Front desk staff were so kind. Breakfast every morning had both Chinese and western options, including fresh noodles being made to order. This hotel takes great pride in their cleanliness and design. Room was amazing. Great views. Great air conditioning. Very comfortable bed. Great water pressure from the shower. Free mini fridge for the first round of drinks, and tea and coffee in the room. Our few things where we would recommend improvements to the hotel: - There was no working AC in the gym. - Gym should have some lighter weights too. - Gym needs a mirror. - Pool towels should be available by the pool. (Unsure if they normally are.. we went out in the rain so possibly during sun they have these readily available). - some small things need to be maintained. (Gym wall leak with mold present, painting around windows peeling off, outdoor plant maintenance, pool tidy of chairs and ensure pool inflatables are actually blown up.These small things aren’t really noticed by everybody, however as a travel agent myself it is what sets luxury hotels apart from others). Overall a really great stay. Would definitely stay again."

From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was truly special. ❤️ 💛 Staff & Service Without a doubt, the best service we experienced during our trip to China. Every member of the team was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely cared about every guest. We even spoke with several other guests, and everyone agreed—this hotel far exceeded all expectations. 🏔️ Rooms & Views Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Waking up to the breathtaking mountain views every morning was unforgettable. 🎭 Activities Included There are so many activities that we simply didn’t have enough time to try everything! We especially loved the complimentary traditional Chinese photoshoot (including 3 professionally edited photos) and the traditional cormorant fishing demonstration. 🍕 Restaurant & Breakfast The restaurant was amazing. Alongside delicious Chinese cuisine, it also serves excellent European food. After weeks of traveling, our kids were craving familiar meals, and the truffle pizza, truffle pasta, and Margherita pizza were absolutely incredible. 😍 Breakfast was equally impressive, with a fantastic selection of hot dishes, fresh fruit, pastries, desserts, and drinks—all with spectacular mountain views. 👨👩👧👦 Perfect for Families A large kids’ playroom, a beautiful swimming pool with a children’s area, and plenty of space for families. Our kids absolutely loved it. 🏋️ Extra Amenities The hotel also has a laundry room and a small gym, which are especially convenient for longer stays. ☕ Don’t Miss the Second Hotel The hotel has a second property just 300 meters away, connected by a complimentary shuttle. We highly recommend visiting it for a coffee on the terrace overlooking the river and mountains. 📸 Please note: All of the river-view photos in this review were taken at the hotel’s second property. ❤️ Everything about this place—the scenery, the atmosphere, the activities, and most importantly, the incredible people—made our stay unforgettable.
