RRujiangzhishuThis is NOT a fake review, seriously! LOL. My parents and I spent a few days traveling in Guilin and Yangshuo before New Year's Day, and Jiu Rang was a delightful surprise during our trip. The service from the front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff was incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and detailed.
We arrived quite late, but they upgraded our room. The staff explained the hotel's layout and the function of each space. The floral arrangements and decorative pieces throughout the hotel were not only well-placed but also very tasteful. It's clear that the developers have excellent experience and a refined aesthetic. Even the linens were top-notch.
The hotel and garden environment were also incredibly photogenic. We took advantage of the complimentary photoshoot offered by the hotel for my parents. We called to schedule it and were assigned photographer Mr. Xiao Qin. The results were fantastic! Mr. Xiao Qin is a lively and energetic local. During the shoot, he provided excellent emotional support and interaction for my family, masterfully capturing heartwarming moments between us. He also seamlessly blended the hotel's comfortable luxury with the stunning distant scenery into the photos. Both the group shots and individual portraits turned out beautifully; my family all praised his work!
Since we had an early high-speed train from Yangshuo Station the next morning, the restaurant staff prepared breakfast for us even before the restaurant officially opened. They also thoughtfully arranged for the hotel's private car to take us to the station. We had a great chat with the young driver along the way, and it turned out he was from our home province of Jiangsu!
Our entire stay and experience were wonderful. I look forward to returning to Yangshuo again and will definitely choose Jiu Rang.

GGuest UserI stayed in the 180-degree panoramic twin room this time. If I had to sum it up, it's a room that allows you to unwind and truly considers the convenience of your stay.
The most striking feature of the room is the incredibly expansive view. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer an unobstructed panorama of the sprawling mountain landscape. The early morning experience was particularly memorable; without having to make an effort to wake up early, I could witness the sky gradually brightening through the sleepy haze. The changing light and mist over the mountains were serene and layered. It offered an effortless way to immerse oneself in nature.
The room's amenities were designed with practicality in mind. The washer-dryer combo was a highlight, addressing a real need for longer stays or family trips, allowing for lighter travel luggage. Overall, the living comfort was excellent.
The hotel service was smooth and consistent. Check-in and check-out procedures were efficient, and requests were met with timely responses.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a place to relax quietly amidst natural mountain views, and you also value practical amenities like laundry, this room type would be a reliable choice. It doesn't offer a noisy 'wow' factor, but rather a sense of solid, comfortable tranquility during your stay.

JJosephLauWe enjoyed our stay here. Serene, beautiful scenery and quiet. Service was excellent , very friendly host and we felt so welcome here. Suitable for family and we had 2 big bedrooms , spacious and comfy for 3 adults and 2 kids. Highly recommended. Location is slightly far from the city but there is always free shuttle available in the hotel. Food was excellent and big portion too. We will consider coming back here and stay for more days.

GGiuliaThis place is a jewel nestled on the hills over Xingping. Rooms are really nice and comfortable, the common area is almost poetic, with the long table over the terrace, and food is really delicious!
Even if the location is quite remote, you can count on the owner to go to and from the small harbour on the river, and they will also help you with directions for all the surrounding areas.
I had chosen this place mainly for its convenient location for Damianshan mountain: I was expecting to see a fantastic sunrise from the top. I am a little disappointed because the trail was not so easy to follow when we visited: vegetation hid the trail in several points and we were not able to find the last part and reach the top. I have already highlighted this to the boss so I hope they will adjust this in the future. ;) Unfortunately I only had one night / one sunrise so I missed my opportunity... we had to stop at a lower point with a nice view, but well, not *that* view. ;)
Anyway, it's my only regret, for the rest everything was perfect. Thanks for everything!

GGuest UserStaying at Sugarhouse Yangshuo was such a pleasant surprise! The dedicated butler service, provided by Xiao Ou, was absolutely perfect. They were available 24/7, not only meticulously planning our itinerary but also offering detailed explanations of the old sugar mill's history.
The hotel, a renovation of an old sugar factory, perfectly blends industrial style with the stunning Lijiang River scenery. The riverside pool, backed by a range of peaks, looked like a wonderland when shrouded in morning mist. Opening the window revealed a picturesque landscape, like a traditional ink wash painting, and in the evening, watching the sunset over the river made for incredible photos with just a snap of the camera.
There were so many activities we couldn't even try them all! We experienced the Sugarhouse tour, relived childhood memories on the swing basket, and even booked a private bamboo raft. On the fifth day of the ***** New Year, there were art installations like the Horse Year Community God Festival, and a fantastic fireworks show – not a single dull moment.
With attentive butler service, breathtaking scenery, and a packed schedule of activities, Sugarhouse is definitely the top choice for a vacation in Yangshuo. It's truly worth another visit.

LLemon MacaronsAmazing rooftop view!!!!! After staying two days in Yangshuo we decided to switch our hotel to more secluded area to experience the real beauty of karst mountains. We were not disappointed. This hotel is fully surrounded by beautiful mountains. They have their rooftop set up for beautiful sunset and we were able to see so many stars at night. It was truly a relaxing experience. The hotel manager spoke good English. They upgraded our room to a honeymoon suite. What a pleasant surprise! They were also very helpful with planning our activities. We hiked up to Damian mountain one day and enjoyed unforgettable view. Although it was a bit strenuous climbing every step was worth it. The view was sooooo rewarding. Back to hotel, here are some pros and cons of this hotel. PROS: 1. Amazing view. 2. Friendly and helpful staff. 3. Restaurant served delicious food and they were very accommodating to our special diet. CONS: 1. DiDi/Taxi is not available here. Hotel offers free pickup and drop off service to ferry dock (5 minute ride) Pay 5rmb to cross the river (2 minute ride). Get dropped off at ancient town “Xingping.” This town has many restaurants, shops and convenience. It’s quite simple to get to Xingping. People like me don’t mind the inconvenience because we chose to stay at secluded hotel location. 2. Room needs some upgrade with furniture and plumbing. Sofa can use some spotting. Overall we were very satisfied with this hotel and we will definitely return!

HHaoyunlailyyThis hotel in Yangshuo was such a pleasant surprise! You get amazing mountain views right from your room. The rooftop 'Sky Mirror' offers stunning panoramic views of the winding Li River – it's like a built-in filter for your photos, every shot looks professional! The hotel's location is excellent, right next to West Street, making it super convenient for exploring and dining. Plus, there's free parking, which is a huge bonus if you're driving.
They offer a complimentary buffet breakfast, and the rooms are spacious. I loved relaxing on the balcony sofa during the day, just unwinding and enjoying the mountain scenery, and then watching the sunset in the evening – it felt like time just slowed down. The room I booked even had a soaking tub, and bathing while looking at the mountains was incredibly relaxing! For anyone looking to escape the city for a bit, a weekend here is truly rejuvenating!

GGuest UserWe have to admit we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our receptionist, Xiaoyao, who was incredibly helpful throughout our visit. He quickly answered all our questions and was always happy to assist us with any queries or issues. His caring attitude made us feel very comfortable, and his excellent English made communication a breeze. Xiaoyao truly made a difference in our experience at both the hotel and in the town!
However, regarding the hotel itself, I have to say that the standards were lower than advertised. While our room was nice, modern, and fresh, the pool area needs serious renovation. We noticed missing tiles and poor maintenance. Although the view from the pool was spectacular and we enjoyed using it, those seeking higher standards might find their needs unmet.
Despite its flaws, this hotel has great potential, and I believe it deserves outstanding reviews—perhaps it did a decade ago. I truly hope it will be restored to its former glory. Breakfast consisted of a typical Chinese spread, which might not be the best fit for Western guests like us; it would have been nice to have more options. Thankfully, Xiaoyao made us lovely coffee each morning, which added a nice touch to our breakfast routine!
We liked the hotel’s location as well, situated a bit away from the hustle and bustle, yet still close enough to explore the main attractions. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and with a few improvements, this hotel could be even better!

GGuest UserWe absolutely loved our stay at the orange and white homestay! The space is simple, spacious, CLEAN, and tastefully artistic, surrounded by all kinds of beautiful green foliage that made it feel like a peaceful retreat.
The house itself is stunning, thoughtfully designed by the talented owner with great attention to detail. The location couldn’t be better—just a short, scenic walk to the river, passing by a charming strawberry U-PICK farm on the way. Along the walk and nearby, there are tons of delicious street food options, fresh-squeezed juice stands, and great coffee spots.
Bikes were conveniently arranged and delivered right to the back door, making it easy and fun to explore the area. Our kids absolutely LOVED this place—they didn’t want to leave! They especially loved the chance to meet and feed the on-site animals, including a friendly llama and a variety of small animals.
One of our favorite moments was the relaxed afternoon setup—while the kids enjoyed playing with play dough, the adults were treated to a complimentary afternoon tea overlooking the gorgeous hotel grounds and dramatic mountain backdrop. It was pure bliss. The breakfast provided was delicious and beautifully prepared, with plenty of options the kids enjoyed.
Even the pool was a hit—despite it not being heated in April, the kids still played in it for over an hour.
This place completely exceeded our expectations. We would 100% stay here again the next time we visit Guilin!

KKenny K.Beware before booking. You have to walk up about two-storey high staircase and about 50 meter route before arriving at the hotel counter. It may not be suitable for old people and who have knee/stair climbing problem. However, after the counter, there is lift to the rooms and the roof top cafe which you can have a good view of YangShou beautiful landscape. It is located infront of the West Street main entrance and local bus stops. Local buses are not so frequent here, but tourists can easily rent an electricity motor bike, price range from RMB20-30 per day to go around the tourist attractions.
