"This is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous and handy location. The staff are friendly but not overly so, which is good for us on holiday. We stayed in The Old Library, a corner room with lots of light and access from both the main door and a handy side door. There was very little noise considering it's a roadside room. A large room, lots of space and clean, with good seating and a comfortable bed. Good hanging space for clothes, but there are only three small drawers in the dressing table. Maybe one of the two refreshment tables could be swapped for a chest of drawers. The dining area was lovely, and the food was good with a nice continental buffet selection. However, our cooked order was wrong twice; the second time because we were given what we had the day before (the first incorrect order) because that's what the cook thought was wanted. It didn't help that the order wasn't written down; maybe this should be done for each order. We'd stay here again, remembering what we'd learned the first time around."

"On checking in we were shown to our room. The room was ample in size. The bed was very comfortable enabling a good nights sleep. The en-suite had been refurbished with a shower. A problem with water pressure was promptly attended to. As we were eating as a group of fourteen, we had pre ordered, and our meals were served speedily all together. Our choices of food were hot and well presented. There was a good choice on the breakfast menu again served without delay. The staff were attentive nothing being too much trouble making for a relaxing stay."

"Absolutely superb little hotel. Immaculately presented, spotlessly clean and pristine. I even took a pic of the window casing, as there wasn’t a scrap of dirt! - just to prove how clean it was! Don’t think I have ever been anywhere where the towels were so fluffy and white Breakfast was a feast of beautifully cooked local produce and lots of options. Kerry and Johnathan clearly put their heart and soul into the business and it shows. Nothing was too much trouble. My husband is celiac and often has to compromise - but the only issue was there was too much choice and quantity! Kerry even left him a little gluten free treat. There are fresh flowers everywhere and the attention to detail is spectacular. Half of me doesn’t want to let people know about this little gem and keep it for ourselves - but I know how hard it is to survive in the difficult economic climate - so I wish them all the luck in the world. When people criticise a little family business, that clearly puts its heart and soul into making guests feel welcome - they don’t deserve to stay. We will definitely be back next year "

"4 of us . Just popped in for a pint and ended up having food . Between us we had 2 x welsh burgers and chips, chicken burger and chips, veggie burger and chips , they all came with the best coleslaw in mid wales , the quality of the burgers were spot on, fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle (lovely) . There’s a new owner who was very welcoming very friendly and accommodating . Wish we weren’t driving as we’d have stayed for longer for the rugby. A nice touch as there was a free raffle prize of a Fiji rugby shirt on offer . All 4 of us have given a 5 star rating and we’d recommend to anyone wanted a pint and some food or to watch some sports to come here . We will pop back next time we are here . "

"We rented the apartment and one single room. The staff are very friendly. Both place has harbour view. The apartment is not very close to the hotel and there is a 10 minutes walk. But the apartment is very lovely. The only thing is that there are no lifts In either place. Also, the window for the hotel room are very old and has the 2 wood boards instead of the curtains. It is very original, but not really sound proof."
