"Kohlhepp is a quiet, beautiful town, and the Carl Muller Hotel is a small, exquisite hotel just by the Moselle River. The front desk staff leave work on time at 18:00, and guests arriving after that must check in online or by phone in advance, and the restaurant service staff will check in on their behalf. I live in a room similar to the attic on the top floor. The elevator is on the fifth floor. I have to climb the narrow spiral stairs with my suitcase. However, the oblique roof of the attic has a oblique window and the view is good. The hotel's breakfast is very good, the variety is wide, the quality is very good."

"We where a party of 7 Bikers doing a tour of Germany, Firstly the hotel staff could not be more helpfull they where all very curtoius and polite, the food was second to none, As we where a party of 7 they gave us our own large table and private room in the resturant, that night we all agreed it was one of the best meals we have had, we are all well traveled and have dined in some of the world top place, but this evening meal was top class, we where all given a picnic bag to take with us when we left the following moring. All in all a briliant hotel."

"An impeccably run and maintained hotel about 15-20min walk from the centre of Cochem. If you're looking for a hotel to explore Cochem and the nearby region, you can't go wrong with Stumbergers. We'll be staying here next time we're in Cochem/ doing Nürburgring. The Great - Room size and cleanliness. Everything was very well maintained and of good quality. - Breakfast. Continental style with eggs. Everything fresh and food quality. - Staff. Friendly, responsive, and make you feel very welcome. - Location. Quiet at night, supermarket (Penny) 3mim walk. Walking by the river into town is easy (flat) and enjoyable. - The on site bar/ restaurant. Only open during the day when we were staying with a limited menu, but very well priced and tasty. The Average - No fridge in the room, there's plenty of room for it. But they did let us keep my medication in their fridge. - Check out time is the same as breakfast. I'd recommend extending check out to 10.30am to allow guests a bit of time after eating. The Bad - Nothing! This place sets a high benchmark for small hotels in Europe. I only wish more were like this. Even the big chains could learn a lot from this hotel."

"We stayed the the Hotel for a short week. Upon arrival we were welcomed at the desk. The room is spacious and the bed is firm. Breakfast changes every day and is very good. Upon recommendations we visited several nice restaurants near bye."

Hotel Villa Tummelchen ★★★

"This was a truly beautiful, quaint hotel and the couple that ran it was absolutely the sweetest. If you are unfamiliar with Cochem, make sure you research before you come. It's a vineyard type town and a good deal of the lodging (including this hotel) are steeply uphill and not directly accessible during the most crowded hours of the day. However, you can travel around the back side to park. Parking requires payment per day, however you have a guaranteed, assigned spot available to you. Parking is above the hotel meaning if you have luggage that you are toting, you might be better off toting down a small bag with any valuables you might have as you will be lugging suitcases up and down steep stairs otherwise. With all of that said, the rooms were absolutely wonderful. Ours had a little balcony where you could sit and sip a warm drink, etc. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the hotel is well kept. The neighboring hotel did have some noisy guests but they quieted down at a reasonable time and the hotel itself was quite lovely and quiet. The service was outstanding. Breakfast was wonderful and they even offer an option to have eggs custom made for you. The view of the castle from the steps of the hotel is outstanding (we could also see it from our room). Very impressed and would definitely stay here again."
