An absolutely gem inside the Datong ancient city square in a modern gated compound, conveniently located within walking distance to shops, restaurants and many ancient and historical sites. Our booking came with a free pick up and drop off from the train station. The room is super clean, comfortable and well equipped ( with Dyson hair drier) whilst the toilet is fully automatic with a heated seat . Our main highlight is most definitely the incredible staff. They were warm, attentive and the service was so personal that our experience in Datong became so special. We were concerned as we weren’t able to book our entry ticket to the Hanging temple before we arrived, but the staff recommended a fantastic driver who took us there early in the morning and ensured everything worked out well. The homemade and included breakfast was delicious and incredibly special . They also prepared our breakfast to go on the day we left very early in the morning. Similarly whenever we asked for a recommendation for restaurants or activities, they very kindly personally accompanied us to where we needed to go whilst ensuring we were attended to. All their suggestions were superb. The level of attention we received is simply unmatched compared to that of large hotel chain.

I highly recommend staying here! The owners are very kind and helped us book a private driver to visit some of the nearby sites (grottos and hanging monastery). They also helped us pay our driver when we were having some issues with alipay. The location is also very good about a 10-15 min walk to the center of datong old city. We absolutely loved their tatami room and all of the areas are clean and tastefully decorated. One area for improvement is that the owners sometimes smoke in the lounge area right outside the rooms - which may bother some guests who do not smoke.

One stay and you'll be a repeat customer! My stay in Datong completely exceeded my expectations—not only was the location fantastic, with the Drum Tower East Street food street right outside and Huayan Temple just a 10-minute walk away, but the Nine Dragon Wall and Prince Dai's Mansion were also just a few minutes away around the corner. During the day, after visiting Wanhua Temple, I could easily stroll back to my courtyard to rest, and in the evening, I could walk to the ancient city wall to see the lantern festival. But what truly convinced me to ”come back next time” was the owner's thoughtfulness and genuine hospitality. From the moment we checked in, the owner acted like a close friend: knowing we wanted to try local cuisine, he proactively booked a table at Kaige Restaurant for us, saving us the trouble of waiting in line; before exploring the ancient city, he explained details like ”which cold noodles are the most authentic” and ”where to see the city wall lanterns at night,” proving more useful than any travel guide. The accommodation itself didn't disappoint either; the room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the antique decor blended perfectly with the ancient city atmosphere. If you're looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable experience in Datong, this is the place to go—next time I'll head straight here with my luggage!

Because there are schools nearby, it is very quiet to sleep at night. The overall feeling is very good~

The house is beautifully decorated, and the rooms are equipped with smart features. You can tell the owner put a lot of thought into the small details, like disposable towels and bath towels, and small packs of wet wipes. Seeing that I was traveling with my 80-year-old mother, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

The homestay is in the ancient city, quiet in the middle of noisy, you can walk to Huayan Temple, Dai Wangfu, visit ancient buildings, find restaurants are very convenient. The room was cleaned very clean, the bedding was comfortable, the sound insulation was good, and you could have a good rest after a day of play. The boss was very caring, took the initiative to give us local play suggestions, helped us plan the route, and also recommended authentic restaurants that avoided the net red store. The small courtyard is quiet and elegant. After visiting Yungang and Hanging Temple, I sat in the yard and rested, and my fatigue disappeared. The cleanliness was even better than a hotel, and they even provided fruit and afternoon tea. After my stay in Suli, I didn't want to stay in a hotel anymore. I didn't want to go anywhere else; I just wanted to relax on a lounge chair in the courtyard and soak up the sun. It felt so relaxing; I hadn't felt this carefree in a long time. This guesthouse has a great style; some of the murals and paintings are tasteful and artistic, not tacky at all—clearly not a cheap place.

After visiting Huayan Temple and the Prince Dai's Mansion, you can relax in the courtyard, enjoying the breeze and taking beautiful photos. The owner's thoughtfulness is a major plus. They provide free pick-up service from the high-speed rail station. With my elderly relatives carrying a lot of luggage, they were waiting on time and helped with the luggage the whole time. They even proactively recommended gentler routes suitable for seniors, saving us the trouble of planning the trip ourselves. The rooms were very clean and tidy, with meticulous attention to hygiene. The breakfast was also excellent – ​​clean, delicious, and our elders were very satisfied, significantly enhancing our travel experience! The guesthouse has a fantastic location, very close to Huayan Temple, Foxiaoban Cultural and Creative Park, and the Prince Dai's Mansion. After watching the iron flower performance in the evening, a walk back to the guesthouse was not tiring at all. The service was meticulous and thoughtful throughout, without any commercial gimmicks. Very ideal homestay, I will definitely choose again next time I pass by Datong. The Tinglan twin room is small in size, but the facilities are very complete, quality and taste are good. The front desk of the hotel is in B1, and the beans of the bar coffee machine are Lavazza, which is a surprise. The eldest sister of the hotel (seems to be the most suitable name) is very patient and gentle, kind and enthusiastic, and the cleaning sister is also a good temper of the same style, very comfortable atmosphere.

We had such a lovely stay in Datong! The hospitality here truly exceeded our expectations. The host was incredibly friendly, caring, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They even offered to do our laundry while we were out sightseeing, and folded everything neatly after it dried — such thoughtful service. They also helped us order food and gave great recommendations, which made our trip so much easier. The room itself was surprisingly high tech, with a fun sound control system that made the stay even more enjoyable. Although the room is on Level 2 with no lift, the host kindly carried our luggage up during check in and brought it down again when we checked out. Their helpfulness really made a difference. Breakfast was lovely — nutritious, tasty, and just the right kind of start before heading out to explore. Overall, we felt very welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong.
