This place is really close to attractions like Huayan Temple and Daiwangfu, and all the famous restaurants are just a short walk away. You step out, and you're right at Sipaifang and the Grand Mosque. The owner is super friendly, the underfloor heating in the room kept it toasty warm, and the cleaning lady did an excellent job.

An absolutely gem inside the Datong ancient city square in a modern gated compound, conveniently located within walking distance to shops, restaurants and many ancient and historical sites. Our booking came with a free pick up and drop off from the train station. The room is super clean, comfortable and well equipped ( with Dyson hair drier) whilst the toilet is fully automatic with a heated seat . Our main highlight is most definitely the incredible staff. They were warm, attentive and the service was so personal that our experience in Datong became so special. We were concerned as we weren’t able to book our entry ticket to the Hanging temple before we arrived, but the staff recommended a fantastic driver who took us there early in the morning and ensured everything worked out well. The homemade and included breakfast was delicious and incredibly special . They also prepared our breakfast to go on the day we left very early in the morning. Similarly whenever we asked for a recommendation for restaurants or activities, they very kindly personally accompanied us to where we needed to go whilst ensuring we were attended to. All their suggestions were superb. The level of attention we received is simply unmatched compared to that of large hotel chain.

I was very satisfied with the cleanliness and environment, and the staff were very responsible and kind. However, there were too few mirrors in the room. For two girls staying together, having only one mirror is really insufficient! Plus, the mirror didn't even have a light. It was too dark, which was very inconvenient for me when I needed to do my makeup.

This guesthouse boasts an excellent location in the East Street of Gulou (Drum Tower) in the ancient city. It's a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling downtown, with a rich historical background. It faces Guandi Temple directly, with Taiping Tower to its north, and a Fo Xiaoban specialty store just 10 meters to the east. Walking west leads you to Gulou (Drum Tower), and Huayan Temple is just 600 meters away. Along the way, you'll pass numerous popular restaurants like Zini 369, Longjuxiang, and Fenglingge. The ancient city's tourist shuttle bus station is also a convenient 20-minute walk away. The rooms have an antique charm and feature a wet/dry separation bathroom. The host provides warm and attentive butler service, even greeting guests at the door and helping with luggage. There's also a friendly cat in the courtyard you can pet. It's a pet-friendly establishment.

Traveling with my almost 80-year-old mother, the guesthouse owner was incredibly helpful even before I booked, suggesting a tatami room for her convenience. That immediately left a great impression. We stayed for three nights, and the owner's Sienna van was always on time for station pick-ups and drop-offs. The whole family was wonderful, providing recommendations for sightseeing and local food. My mother really enjoyed chatting with them and said she wants to stay there again next time. The room itself had smart controls (Xiaodu system). The toilet and bathroom facilities were brand new. The projector screen was fantastic for watching movies, and all the on-demand programs were pre-paid, so we could watch whatever we wanted. Most importantly, the guesthouse courtyard was incredibly quiet. Even with all the rooms occupied, we didn't hear any noise at all and slept really well. For someone as picky about sleep as I am, this was a lifesaver! The guesthouse is located inside the ancient city. It only took my mother and me about 7-8 minutes to walk to the nearest city wall gate, making it very convenient to get to all the different attractions.

I highly recommend this Chinese-style courtyard guesthouse in the ancient city! It was especially comfortable for traveling with elderly guests! The overall style is an elegant modern Chinese courtyard, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. While the ancient streets and alleys outside are lively, the courtyard is peaceful and serene. After visiting Huayan Temple and the Prince Dai's Mansion, you can relax in the courtyard, enjoying the breeze and taking beautiful photos. The owner's thoughtfulness is a major plus. They provide free pick-up service from the high-speed rail station. With my elderly relatives carrying a lot of luggage, they were waiting on time and helped with the luggage the whole time. They even proactively recommended gentler routes suitable for seniors, saving us the trouble of planning the trip ourselves. The rooms were very clean and tidy, with meticulous attention to hygiene. The breakfast was also excellent – ​​clean, delicious, and our elders were very satisfied, significantly enhancing our travel experience! The guesthouse has a fantastic location, very close to Huayan Temple, Foxiaoban Cultural and Creative Park, and the Prince Dai's Mansion. After watching the iron flower performance in the evening, a walk back to the guesthouse was not tiring at all. The service was meticulous and thoughtful throughout, without any commercial gimmicks. This is the top choice for visiting Datong Ancient City, and I would definitely stay here again next time. I sincerely recommend it to friends traveling with children and the elderly!

This place absolutely deserves a five-star review! From the moment we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised by how spotless everything was. The cleanliness was impeccable – soft bedding and a fresh, odor-free bathroom. The hosts, a wonderful couple, provided incredibly warm service, picking us up and dropping us off at the station. They even gave us a special local aged vinegar as a farewell gift on our way back! Huge thanks to the young man at the guesthouse who was always quick to help with any requests. Also, a big thank you to the lady working during the day and another young woman who were always so accommodating. The room decor was very stylish, and the environment was quiet and pleasant, making us feel right at home. It was a fantastic stay, highly recommended to everyone! The room facilities are relatively new. The bathroom was very clean, and they even provided complimentary fruit. It's located in a bustling area within the ancient city, so you can easily walk to attractions and restaurants. The housekeeper was also very kind and provided enthusiastic service. Thumbs up!

We had such a lovely stay in Datong! The hospitality here truly exceeded our expectations. The host was incredibly friendly, caring, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They even offered to do our laundry while we were out sightseeing, and folded everything neatly after it dried — such thoughtful service. They also helped us order food and gave great recommendations, which made our trip so much easier. The room itself was surprisingly high tech, with a fun sound control system that made the stay even more enjoyable. Although the room is on Level 2 with no lift, the host kindly carried our luggage up during check in and brought it down again when we checked out. Their helpfulness really made a difference. Breakfast was lovely — nutritious, tasty, and just the right kind of start before heading out to explore. Overall, we felt very welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong.

Having traveled extensively throughout the year, I'm quite picky about accommodations. This guesthouse I booked in Datong was the best I've stayed at recently. The location is in the heart of the ancient city, the location is simply superb. All the major attractions are within walking distance, making dining and shopping very convenient without the hassle of rushing around. Parking is also free for those driving, which is very convenient. The guesthouse is a courtyard house, the environment is exceptionally comfortable. The overall style is elegant and quiet, without being overly commercialized. The courtyard atmosphere is very relaxing, perfect for a relaxing trip. The room layout is reasonable, with excellent natural light, and the decor is high-quality and photogenic, without being overly flashy. The facilities are complete and very thoughtful. Northern climates are dry, and the room has a fresh air system and a humidifier, making for a very comfortable stay. The bedding is clean and comfortable, the soundproofing is excellent, and it's very quiet at night, ensuring a high quality of sleep. The bathroom is clean and tidy, with plenty of hot water, making for a very comfortable stay. The service is the biggest plus. The staff are friendly, attentive, and responsive to any issues. The complimentary afternoon tea was wonderful; relaxing in the courtyard with the breeze was incredibly soothing. Breakfast featured local specialty noodles, authentic and comforting. The cleanliness was impeccable; the entire place was spotless and bright, with even the corners meticulously maintained, showing the owner's dedication to the business. Overall, this is ideal for couples, friends, and families. Staying in the old town, with attractions right outside the door and a quiet courtyard to return to, the value and experience far surpasses other hotels in the same price range.
