Hotels in West Lake, Lingyin Temple Scenic Area, Hangzhou

The room was very clean, and the hotel owner was incredibly welcoming. They even offered complimentary samples of Jiu Qu Hong Mei tea on the first floor, which was a nice touch. I had a great stay and will definitely come back again.

First off, a big shoutout to Manager Chen from the lobby. Their professionalism and empathy were top-notch, really helping to smooth things over after the hotel sprayed insecticide without any notice, causing guests to inhale it and understandably get upset. The State Guesthouse is huge with great greenery, but avoid going in September or October. The lake is swarming with midges, and I got bitten over a dozen times; the itching was unbearable. The hardware and decor are quite ordinary, think 'Fullon Hotel' meets 'old cadre style.' It definitely lags behind the other luxury hotels around West Lake. I'd much rather spend one night at the Four Seasons Hangzhou or the Water From The Heart Residence than two nights at the State Guesthouse for the same price. Oh, and breakfast was pretty standard too; they didn't even have Pian'er Chuan noodles.

The room is close to Yue Fei Temple and Quyuan Garden, making it easy to walk to both with kids. It's also fairly close to the bus stop. The mattress and pillows weren't too soft; they offered good support, which was much more comfortable than many hotels I've stayed in before, exceeding my expectations for a good night's sleep. However, it's a bit far from the subway station, and the hotel is located in an alley within an old residential area, so the immediate surroundings aren't great. Overall, it's decent and I'd still recommend it, especially if you plan on spending a lot of time at the two aforementioned attractions.

We were upgraded to a larger room upon check-in, which was spacious and had excellent air conditioning. There was also a small table for four right outside the door. The hotel is conveniently located close to Leifeng Pagoda, Lingyin Temple, and Viewing Fish at Flower Pond. The bus stop right outside is super handy. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Choosing Orange Crystal Nanshan Road for our West Lake trip was beyond expectations, highly recommended! The hotel is located on the artistic Nanshan Road, an absolutely prime location. It's just a few minutes' walk to 'Orioles Singing in the Willows', and very close to Qianwang Temple, Leifeng Pagoda, and the China Academy of Art. It's incredibly convenient for strolls around West Lake in the morning and evening, saving a lot of travel time. The lobby has a great design, with high ceilings and transparent, elegant glass spaces. The panoramic elevator is a unique feature, and there's also a self-service pour-over coffee station in the lobby, perfect for a break during your travels. The guest rooms are clean, tidy, and spacious, with soft and comfortable bedding and good quality bathroom fixtures. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, making it very quiet at night for a restful sleep. The front desk staff were warm and courteous, and check-in was efficient. They also offered thoughtful advice for exploring West Lake. The housekeeping staff were meticulous, and the rooms were well-maintained. The overall decor is a simple, light luxury style with a great ambiance, suitable for both leisure vacations and short trips. We'll definitely prioritize this hotel for our next visit to West Lake!

This was my first time staying at a guesthouse, and I lucked out and found a real gem! Years ago, a guesthouse in Xiamen scared me off, so I've avoided them ever since. But this trip, I was with my parents and two kids, and Hangzhou was hot with lots of walking involved to see the sights. So, finding accommodation near attractions was a must. After considering everything, I decided to look around Qingzhiwu. I saw Huage on Ctrip and loved its decor, and the real photos from other guests convinced me. Such an interesting place at such a great price! After researching all night, I booked two rooms for two nights. The next day, after finalizing our itinerary, I immediately added another night. The guesthouse's location is excellent for the price, very close to all the attractions. The owner is incredibly warm and thoughtful. He came out to greet us from a distance and was always there to help with whatever we needed. I even asked him how to take the public bus, and he went above and beyond, even showing me detailed pictures of the bus stop and correcting me when I was about to take the wrong direction. He even timed the bus arrival for me and called me to tell me how to get back – so many thoughtful gestures, I can't fit them all into one review. I've never written a review for a hotel because I feel like professional hotels just do what they're supposed to. But Huage is so much more than just a guesthouse; it felt like staying with family. So, on my last night, I'm writing this to thank the owner and highly recommend Huage to everyone.

Had a wonderful stay here! The location is super close to Lingyin Temple, which saved us the trouble of not being able to get a taxi into the main area early in the morning. It's just a pleasant 10-minute walk to Lingyin. Remember to book your park entry tickets in advance! Both the breakfast and afternoon tea were excellent. The seasonal sweet soup on the first night was delicious and light. The afternoon tea set was beautiful and tasty, and we even spotted some little squirrels! I'd definitely choose this hotel again next time.

Opened in 2026, this hotel is located within the West Lake Scenic Area and is quite easy to find right by the road. The facilities are still new as it's recently renovated. However, the building itself is an old house, with very narrow stairs and poor sound insulation – you can hear noises from downstairs and the street late at night. For someone with allergies, it was a real struggle... the air conditioning unit was directly above my head. It was too hot with the AC off at night, but if I turned it on, it blew directly on me and I kept sneezing. Also, breakfast is delivered to the room on a tray, as there's no restaurant.

This Jiangnan-style courtyard hotel is very unique and charming. The service was excellent; the front desk staff proactively offered electric cart rides, helped with luggage, and we even had welcome fruits in our room. Although we arrived late and missed afternoon tea, the staff gave us two coffee vouchers for beautifully latte-art adorned coffees, which was a nice touch. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but everything was delicious 😋. Our stay was short, and it rained in the morning, otherwise, a run around the area would have been lovely. Two suggestions for the room design: 1. There was no luggage rack, so our bags, clothes, and other items had nowhere to be placed. 2. There was no bath mat when showering, leading to a slippery floor and a risk of falling.

## Environment, Location, and Painted Boat I specifically chose to stay two days before National Day to avoid the crowds, and the experience was fantastic! The hotel boasts exclusive, first-line views of West Lake, perfectly avoiding the throngs of people, making it very quiet and peaceful. The location is excellent, with a small gate near the parking lot that leads directly to Leifeng Pagoda. The best part is that Wang Zhuang has its own private pier and a painted boat (258 RMB/person + 15% service charge, free for children under 6). It's incredibly convenient, relaxing, and worry-free to board the boat directly from the hotel's pier for a West Lake tour! ## Room and Family-Friendly Facilities This time, I stayed in the newly renovated Building 6. The soft furnishings are aesthetically pleasing, and the living comfort is high. It's very family-friendly, with a bottle sterilizer directly provided in the room. The hotel also has robot attendants, which my little one was always thrilled to see. ## Service and Transportation The staff and butler were all incredibly kind and attentive. Since the hotel grounds are extensive, we could contact the butler anytime to arrange a shuttle for transportation to the pool or restaurant. ## Dining Experience The restaurant has a great overall ambiance with pleasant views from the windows. The buffet breakfast offered a rich variety of items and tasted excellent. The lunch buffet has a special discount for hotel guests, but the quality of the dishes was relatively average, just barely passable. ## Reminder for Parents and Butler's Response The only thing to caution parents bringing fresh milk/baby food about is that the small refrigerator in the room doesn't get cold enough (around 14-16 degrees Celsius, which neither the butler nor the equipment specifically indicated). The fresh milk I stored for my child spoiled, causing him to have an upset stomach after drinking it. I only discovered the refrigerator temperature issue after measuring it with my own thermometer. However, I must commend the butler's crisis management and service attitude! Upon learning of the situation, they took full responsibility without any excuses. After confirming that my child had recovered, the butler proactively helped store all our subsequent fresh milk purchases in the hotel's standard large refrigerator and delivered them to our room every morning and evening on time. Overall, the minor flaw doesn't detract from the experience. Given the unparalleled West Lake scenery, private painted boat, and reliable service, I highly recommend this hotel for families with children.
