My three days at Xilamuren Star Campsite were honestly one of the highlights of my trip. Jiaohongjun, the owner, was incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home from the moment I gor into the car with him. He also took the time to show me around the grasslands and answer all my questions along the way. The yurt was clean, very comfortable and in prestine condition. I really enjoyed my stay, the time we spend together and your hospitality. I would happily come back again!

Very friendly host

I found this resort from the Internet. It has a good environment and is located deep in the grassland. The rooms are clean and tidy. The boss is so enthusiastic. The food is not expensive and is for public consumption. The lamb chops are delicious and worth recommending!

This trip to the grassland was particularly happy. I was very touched to see the simple words and deeds of the sheep and herdsmen on the grassland. The boss arranged for us local attractions and let us enjoy the price of the herdsmen's family. The money actually doesn't matter if you come out to play well for the purpose, but the little boss doesn't give more. Very principled, very business philosophy, when we left, give us two bottles of horse milk wine as a gift, in short, this stay is particularly satisfied, really recommend, will come to this store next time! ! ! ! The room is large and the facilities are particularly new. It is indeed a newly opened hotel. The sanitary conditions are first-class, the bed linen is soft and comfortable, it is warm during the day, and it is a bit cold at night but the air conditioner can be turned on.

The boss is very enthusiastic. Now the temperature difference in the grassland is very big. It is very cold at night. There are electric blankets in the yurt. The quilt is also very thick. All resorts are remote from Hohhot, so we took a Didi from Hohhot to the resort. It took 1:50 hours. They resort itself is really nice. The yurts are comfortable and clean. There are plenty of activities that you can do around the resort. Just talk to the service people. We did horse riding, go car, saw a Mongolian show and every evening there is a fire show at the resort. A worker drove us to the activities. The food at the restaurant was a bit pricey but high quality.

Both lunch and dinner were excellent, and we were especially impressed by the Lamb Bao served at breakfast. Overall, the service and warmth from the people were genuinely good. That said, all the costs were quite expensive compared to what I'm used to after living and traveling in China for more than 10 years. I would recommend the horse riding off the main area, as they suggest, but the Happy Ranch was not that fulfilling—most of the rides and activities there weren't worth the time or money. That's an external activity though, so no discredit to the hotel itself. While we didn't end up using the actual amenities, the hospitality and cultural performance alone made the visit worthwhile. I really enjoyed my stay here!! The yurt was spacious, the design was a bit old-fashioned and basic but everything was functional. The activities were explained together with their price. I just chose the dinner and it was great. Samples of traditional meals, dances and the unique throat singing,and one could even wear the traditional clothes. Very touristy but fun!The other resorts are quite nearby tho so it wasnt as deserted as I was expecting but still gives one an idea of the grassland atmosphere. The staff was amazing! They took extraordinary care of me. They picked me up on the bus stop even without me requesting it and the next day drove me to the nearest town when the roads got flooded and the buses wouldn't come.They did it for free and my entire stay were really friendly and trying to make me feel welcome 😊

The environment here is beautiful, the air is fresh, and visiting the grasslands is indeed a great choice. The yurts here appear to be the largest in the area. There are many tourists, and the service is excellent. The ethnic characteristics are quite good; the yurts are beautifully decorated, and the various entertainment options are very interesting. I'll definitely come back to experience the grasslands again next time.
