Hotels in Kunming Changshui International Airport, Kunming

My flight was delayed, so I booked this hotel last-minute when I arrived at the airport around midnight. I called the front desk, and they were able to arrange a pick-up. The hotel is very close to the airport, and they also provide a shuttle service back to the airport in the morning. The facilities are great; the toilet and shower are separate, the TV is large, and there's plenty of space. The staff provided excellent service, especially the front desk, who were very attentive. It's definitely great value for money.

Our bed had a strong cigarette smell upon check-in. We informed the reception, but when we returned later in the day, the smell was still present, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. On the day of departure, we also encountered an issue with the transport arrangements. We informed the receptionist that we were heading to the train station, and he directed us to wait for the complimentary transport. After waiting, we were told by another staff member that the shuttle was actually going to the airport, not the train station. Unfortunately, this miscommunication caused us to miss our train. After exploring several cities in Yunnan for three weeks, we decided to spend another three nights at the Holiday Inn Express Kunming Changshui Airport before flying back to Taiwan. It was incredibly convenient since we didn't have to move our luggage around. The hotel offers a fantastic 24-hour shuttle service that gets you to the airport in just 10 minutes, making it an ideal base. From Kunming Changshui Airport, you can easily connect to the city's transport network. A 35-minute metro ride on Line 6 takes you to Tangzixiang Station, from where we could easily revisit areas we'd explored before, like Kunming Old Street, the 'Paper Thin Building,' and Nanqiang Night Market, which we'd enjoyed when staying near Nanping Street. Alternatively, a short taxi ride (8-20 yuan) could take us to Haiyan Village, Yunnan Nationalities Village, or Haigeng Dam. Even Shuangqiao Food Street was accessible: after 6 PM, we'd take Metro Line 1 or 2 from Tangzixiang Station to Fude Station, and exit C led straight to the food street. We spent two consecutive evenings there, eating and shopping to our hearts' content, then hopped back on the metro (Lines 1 & 2, then Line 6) to the airport before 10 PM. A quick call ensured the shuttle picked us up immediately, and we were back in our room at the Holiday Inn Express within 10 minutes, ready for a relaxing shower. We've consistently found Holiday Inn Express hotels, especially those by IHG, to offer excellent value for money. We recently stayed at one in Lijiang for six days, and now here in Kunming for three, and it seems our rooms were upgraded on both occasions. For our 3:30 AM airport drop-off on the third day, the hotel manager promptly confirmed the arrangements and even prepared a breakfast box for us. The daily breakfast spread was also very good, and the afternoon fruit platter featuring Yunnan apples and rose grapes saved us the trouble of buying fruit outside. Overall, before flying out of Kunming, the Holiday Inn Express by the airport (especially its 24-hour shuttle service), along with the high level of service and enthusiasm from the manager and staff, were truly commendable and highly appreciated.

24-hour worry-free shuttle service to and from Changshui Airport: I was on a layover, and the hotel was great, offering both pickup and drop-off service ❤️, which was incredibly convenient. The front desk staff were also very attentive; they proactively asked if I needed shuttle service to the airport and then helped me estimate the best time for the car. The room was quite quiet, the air conditioning heated very well, and it was comfortable and clean.

The service was excellent, and the breakfast spread was impressive, featuring a lot of branded ingredients. Downstairs, there's a fantastic Dai-style BBQ and a delicious mushroom hotpot. They also offer dedicated pick-up and drop-off services to Kunming Changshui Airport, available both morning and evening. Despite being close to the airport, the environment was quiet, and they even mailed back an item I left behind!

I stayed at this Ji Hotel with my child for an overnight layover in Kunming, and it was incredibly convenient. You don't even have to leave the terminal – just take the elevator straight up to the second floor. After a shower and a good night's sleep in the comfy bed, all the travel fatigue just melted away. Getting to my flight the next morning was also a breeze; simply take the elevator to the fourth floor for the check-in counters. They even gave us complimentary welcome fruit! I'll definitely stay here again for any future overnight layovers in Kunming.

The hotel is about 1 km from the airport terminal. They offer a shuttle service, which is really convenient. If your flight is delayed, this is a great place to stay for a few hours. You can take the shuttle back to the airport early the next morning and then catch the airport metro or bus from there. It felt very convenient. The room was also quite good, and overall, it was a positive experience. You can even see the airport from the hotel room, which was a nice touch.

This is my second time choosing this hotel for my self-driving trip in Yunnan, with a layover in Kunming. The breakfast starts at 5:30 AM, which is perfect for catching an early flight; you can enjoy your meal without rushing. What's more, the breakfast is excellent – a great variety and delicious. The airport shuttle service is convenient, and there's a large parking lot. Plus, there's a gas station and restaurants right next door. Overall, it's a great choice for a self-driving stopover.
