Hotels in Chenggong New District/South High-Speed Railway Station, Kunming

I booked a lake-view suite (one bedroom, one living room). Hyatt Place hotels are always on higher floors, so the view was great. The hotel offers a pick-up service from the station, and it only took about 15 minutes to get to the hotel, which was very convenient. The hotel is quite new, and the facilities are good. There's also a newly opened Chinese restaurant, so dining was easy. However, the biggest issue was the lack of seating. After the sofa bed was pulled out, there was only a footstool to sit on, and they couldn't provide an extra chair. I saw other rooms had desks and chairs with backrests, so perhaps that's something worth considering adding?

I've stayed here several times now. It's right in Colorful Yunnan, and there are plenty of restaurants downstairs, making dining incredibly convenient. The rooms are uniquely designed and very spacious. For the same price, I doubt you could find another hotel with rooms this large. The attention to detail in the room's decor is also very thoughtful. They even provide a washing machine and a drying rack, which is a huge plus since it's often hard to find a place to dry clothes after washing them. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a fantastic view of a sizable lake. You can sit and enjoy panoramic views of the lake and the city. Overall, my experience was extremely satisfying.

This is the best hotel I've stayed at in the past two years in terms of service. Facilities: It's like a brand new hotel, incredibly well-maintained and fully equipped. The elevators are super fast; it's rare to find a hotel where you don't have to wait to go up to the 30th floor, and this is one of them – amazing! Hygiene: The cleanliness is impeccable, with no untouched corners. The bedding is fantastic, and both the mattress and pillows are very comfortable. Environment: The transportation is very convenient, with shopping areas both in front and behind the building. The city street views and natural scenery are all beautiful. Service: The service is simply beyond words, incredibly thoughtful. Check-in was seamless, and all issues were handled very promptly with an excellent attitude. The welcome fruit platter was generous, the handwritten card was a lovely touch, and they proactively offered water. The butler service was spot-on. I was also very satisfied with the restaurant. It was an absolutely flawless stay. There was even bread in the room, which was an incredibly thoughtful touch. 100% recommended, 100% positive review.

I initially booked this hotel online without much thought, and honestly, the value for money is absolutely incredible. The lobby greeted me with a lovely floral scent, and the front desk staff were professional and efficient, making check-in super fast. They patiently answered all my questions, and when they found out we enjoyed watching sports, they even upgraded us to a deluxe cinema king room. Watching the World Cup on the 120-inch screen was fantastic! The room was spotless, the bathroom had no strange odors or water stains, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The whole room was well-ventilated and felt fresh. The facilities were well-maintained and looked new; the lighting, hot water, and air conditioning all worked perfectly. The soundproofing was excellent, so I wasn't bothered by any hallway noise. Downstairs, it's right next to Wanda Plaza, and just a bit further is Qicai Yunnan No.1 City, so you can find any kind of food you're craving. Unfortunately, it's been raining a lot in Kunming recently. I went out without an umbrella, got caught in the rain, and started feeling a bit sick. I ordered some medicine and filled in the address provided by the front desk, but after waiting over half an hour, it still hadn't arrived. My phone even showed it as delivered. I called the delivery driver to ask where it was, and it turned out he had delivered it to the wrong building. He refused to come back and redeliver it, and then hung up on me, which made me furious. I asked the front desk for help finding my medicine. When they learned I had a cold, they brought me a cup of hot water for my medicine and thoughtfully brought an umbrella, reminding me that it's rainy season in Kunming and it's better to carry one. Their service truly warmed my heart. I will definitely be strongly recommending this place to my friends here.

This room was infested with mosquitoes. Mosquitoes and other bugs were crawling all over us while we slept. Apart from Joyce Wang at the front desk, who was excellent, the service from everyone else was truly disappointing. They kept passing the buck when I tried to address the mosquito problem. First, they said they'd switch our room, but after waiting half an hour with no update, I called again and was told it wasn't possible, and that was that. Only after I got really angry did they suggest the manager could arrange for us to pay to move to another hotel room. It was already past 11 PM – what's the point of moving then? While the hotel being fully booked might be true, it's no excuse for such poor service and attitude. Leaving guests in a bug-ridden room is unacceptable. I do not recommend staying here.

I was very satisfied with my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Kunming Chenggong! The location is convenient, close to both the South Station and the subway, making travel easy. The room was clean and comfortable, the bedding was soft, and the facilities were complete. The breakfast was plentiful and even included local specialties. The front desk service was warm and attentive, and it offered great value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in town!
