Hotels in Dianchi Lake Scenic Area/ Sunac World, Kunming

The lady at the front desk was incredibly kind and thoughtful. They even had kids' slippers and welcome fruit for my two little ones, which was so heartwarming. She also helped with our luggage, gave me a travel map for Kunming, and provided all-around excellent service. Thumbs up, indeed! The hot springs were also very comfortable, and they even provided food to feed the seagulls. The next day, my kids were asleep, so they let us check out late free of charge, and even offered a room upgrade. Staying here with elderly family and children was truly stress-free ❤️. I even added them on WeChat; I'll definitely stay here again next time! 🫰🏻 (I've never reviewed a place this thoroughly before, haha!)

The best service I experienced was at the Cloud Restaurant. I made a reservation a day before checking in, and everything was perfectly arranged. This hotel is really great for kids, offering excellent value for money in Kunming city. Because it was a holiday, room service was a bit slow; I had to call three times every time I needed something. The butler's response was also a bit slow, but I only called room service after the butler didn't deliver what I asked for, and even then, it was still very slow. There was a welcome fruit platter from Trip.com. Honestly, for Kunming, this fruit platter was a bit of a letdown—it would've been better not to send it at all, especially since I had to contact Trip.com staff to get it delivered.

I highly recommend this hidden gem of an inn by Dianchi Lake's Haigeng Dam! The courtyard is like a fairy tale, with charming bridges over flowing streams and beautifully arranged succulents – every photo is a masterpiece. Just lounging around here feels like pure bliss. The location is fantastic; you can walk to the dam in just a few minutes to see the seagulls, saving you the hassle of commuting back and forth. The room was clean, tidy, and decorated in a cozy, healing way that instantly melted away my travel fatigue. The owner is incredibly kind, warm, and attentive, taking care of every detail from check-in to check-out, providing a truly family-like warmth. You absolutely *must* try their 'ugly apples' – they're surprisingly crisp and sweet! This place is an excellent choice whether you're traveling with parents or the whole family. It's now officially on my must-stay list for Kunming!

For our trip to Kunming, we wanted to stay close to Xishan Mountain, and Chama Garden was absolutely an excellent choice. Upon our first visit, though we initially entered through a parking garage, the lobby opened up into a bright, spacious, and tastefully decorated area. The attention to detail was impressive, and the 24-hour butler service was incredibly responsive to all our needs. We booked a family room with a private courtyard and hot spring bath. The room was very spacious and exceptionally clean, and we received a complimentary 'goodnight' dessert every evening. The private hot spring pool was generously sized, and soaking in it while it rained was absolutely wonderful. The large courtyard, complete with a rocking chair, was a huge hit with both adults and children. Along the path leading to the restaurant, we enjoyed breathtaking, unobstructed panoramic views of Dian Lake. The location was also extremely convenient. Stepping out, we were right on Flower Street, bustling with unique local snacks. Just a short walk away were the Xishan Mountain ticket office, the bus station, and Metro Line 3. We stayed for three nights, and while breakfast was included for all three days, the options were a bit limited and repetitive. We hope they can offer more variety in the future.

The hotel boasts an excellent location right at the entrance of Haigang Park. Just about 100 meters from the hotel, there's a shuttle bus for the Xishan cable car. The rooms are spacious and come with a balcony. The smart toilet is a real highlight, and the hot spring water for showering is a luxurious touch. Plus, bottled water is complimentary. The breakfast offers a good variety of both Chinese and Western options. From the backyard, you can see Yunnan Nationalities Village across the lake. This season, there are flocks of seagulls in the lake; as long as you have bread, you'll always be the center of attention, without needing to go to the crowded Dianchi Lake. The staff are very welcoming and the free parking lot is quite large.

The front desk helped us with directions in English, which made everything easier. Thank you to the staff for the great hospitality! And The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable too. Please choose this homestay if your at Kunming. 100% recommended!

It was really hard to find this hotel. I navigated to the place but couldn't see any hotel sign. I got out of the car and walked around the building, but couldn't find it. Making phone calls makes people even more anxious. They are always on the phone, repeated many times, and both numbers have the same result. Looking through the hotel introduction, there is clearly a picture of the hotel name on the wall outside the building, but in fact there is none. After asking around, I found out that it was on the 12th floor of a hotel. I ran up and there was a very simple front desk, but there was still no one there. After shouting a few times, someone came out. I have never seen such hotel service. The hotel describes how good the facilities are, but in fact they are not up to the level mentioned. Just look at the toiletries and you can imagine the level. There wasn't even a shower cap; the pillows were extremely uncomfortable. This was an unpleasant stay.

This hotel is located right next to the East Gate (Yuyuan Garden) of Daguan Park. From the room, you can admire the Western Hills from afar and the Red House of Yuyuan Garden up close, making it an excellent spot to watch the sunset. The hotel is brand new with a modern and stylish decor. Everything is controlled by a smart system. The built-in background music, featuring French songs, is lovely, and the natural soundscapes aid sleep. You can also connect via Bluetooth to play your own music. They even thoughtfully provide an essential oil diffuser and humidifier. Combined with the comfortable pillows and mattress, if you still can't sleep well, something's seriously wrong, haha. Since the hotel is already so meticulous, I'd suggest adding an air purifier for an even better experience.

This hotel offers exceptional value for money. It's conveniently located right next to Hai'geng Park, just about a 200-meter walk, and Yunnan Ethnic Village is also nearby. What truly impressed me was the hotel's wonderful atmosphere and outstanding service! The overall decor has a charming, traditional style. The front desk goes the extra mile, offering complimentary daily essentials like hand cream, sunscreen spray, mosquito repellent, and contact lens solution for guests to borrow. Breakfast features a rich variety of options, and the hotel even provides free delivery within a three-kilometer radius. Plus, you can borrow ethnic costumes from the front desk for free! Wear them for a stroll around Yunnan Ethnic Village and you'll save significantly on travel photography costs. The hotel's ambiance truly speaks for itself in the photos – I wholeheartedly recommend it! It's quiet, has a fantastic atmosphere, offers superb service, and provides amazing value!
