"Pleased with the experience here at the The Sarpidon. I found it to be very clean, friendly and as a solo traveller( 3rd time in Crete) , the clientele is made up of plenty of frequent visitors who were wonderful to meet and chat too. The lovely Anne and Peter, Jane and Michelle and the hilarious Marie from Ireland - in promise I will return the glass 😇. The rapport the staff have with visitors is priceless. You could have paid 10 times the cost and still not received the attention and friendliness that I feel I had received here . Apologies to Dora who had to chase me down the street because I forgot to pay for my last snack - 100 m sprint better than an Olympic event. So sorry Dora 🙏. Won’t happen again 🫣. Situated right in the centre of Old Malia, close to a very convenient travel route that can take you from one end of the island to the other, with buses coming every 20 minutes. Take a walk out of the west exit of hotel and you find yourself in a delightful and quaint Old Village of Malia , rich in historic buildings, some converted into stunning restaurants and picture postcard beautiful streets. Sarpido also offers delicious meals and drinks reasonably priced and plenty on offer . The beach is in walking distance about 400 m or so but the beach on Malia is squeezed with so many sunbeds you’re near on top of each other - preferred the lovely cove at Hersonnisos 24 or around the pool the days I wasn’t off exploring. Sarpidon is ideally situated, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of mountains yet has everything you need for a memorable, relaxing holiday . Highly recommend. Keep Euros and change . Much preferred than card ."

"Visited Ikaros resort in late April with my wife and adult son, we had two garden view rooms. The resort is beautiful, very clean, with very well maintained gardens and buildings, and in a great location with its own beach and great views from the cliffs. We went all inclusive, I was very impressed with the quality and variety of freshly cooked food, always very well presented. Never had a bad meal for breakfast, lunch or evening meal across 7 days. The guys behind each bar make excellent cocktails. The à la carte restaurants are very good, the staff and chefs are very accommodating. All the staff across the resort are a credit to the hotel, very helpful and friendly. **Special mention to the lady who works in the little alcove opposite reception and rents the cars and experiences, she is a credit to this hotel, what a friendly and lovely character to chat with**. The Spa area and gym is first class, well maintained. We had a day on the beach and most around the lovely pool areas, always loads of beds available, but it was April. We had a garden view room, which was lovely, fantastic shower, cleaned to a high standard daily. I have given the resort 4 stars (would have voted 4.5). I would have definitely given 5 stars, if we had a quieter room away from the transfer drop-off area, which can get noisy during the night. Tip** ask for a room away from the drop-off, gift shop area. This is an adult only resort, very quiet, chilled and relaxing. A good mix of nationalities. I always think the best indicator for an honest review, is would I return again, yes I definitely would."

"Perfect for the price. Lovely little apartment with everything you need. Very clean and cleaners came every other day. Receptionist very helpful with taxis and what shops to use. Pools were cold but that’s expected, area was clean. The food at the hotel is very good and very well priced as are the drinks. All staff are brilliant. 10minutes walk to old town, 15minutes walk to beach. 100% would return"

"This was the second time we have visited Pyrgos Blue and it won’t be the last. The hotel has an undeniable charm, that emanates from the warmth of the family. On a practical level, the rooms are beautifully clean, large comfortable beds, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Im sorry I didn’t get the cleaners name but she deserves a mention as she is there from dawn to dusk and works so hard! However, the appeal of the place is not just the stunning views, blue sea wherever you look, sunshine galore… but it’s the way the family make the customers feel so at home. You receive a warm and friendly welcome every day, the same faces.. working so hard yet always greet you with a smile. Manos is the funniest person there, not only has a great sense of humour but also the ability to speak to anyone in their level, and kindly explains things to you about the local area, or food or places of interest. Toula is a wonderful lady, graceful and kind. Helpful and makes delicious food for us. Nothing is too much to ask for, Toula will get it done! Then their adult son and daughter Elena and Vangelis, who both work the bar are also very hard working and helpful, always bringing a sense of calm and peace to the place. The overall ambience is a holiday where you can do as much or as little as you like. I love that it is not a big hotel, full of loud,annoying, drunk Brits…( and I am British by the way) … But instead, it’s a comfortable, peaceful place you can read your books and be left alone. The food is great, lots of restaurants to try close by..I’d recommend Avli and Odas to try. If you are looking for somewhere to chill, where you can find peace and tranquility, look no further. We can’t wait to go back!"

"What a wonderful hotel. The hotel itself is aesthetically pleasing and well maintained. The staff have been very friendly and nice. We arrived quite late due to a flight delay but on our arrival we were greeted and offered food and drink even though the bar and restaurant was closed which was a really nice touch. Talking of food and drinks, the all inclusive buffet food has been some of the best all inclusive food we have had. Lots of choice and lots of local food. All nice and fresh with a good selection of drinks to go with it! The a la carte restaurant is also nice with a good selection of food and some local Cretan wines available (extra charge for the wines). We chose to have our wedding anniversary dinner here and were given a cake which was really nice (and showered with rose petals, which was a lovely thoughtful touch!) Nosos the hotel guest ambassador does a great job looking after all the guests and is very friendly. In fact I only mentioned that we wanted to book the a la carte for our anniversary dinner a couple of days before and he sorted out the extra cake (Thank you!) All-in-all a wonderful hotel and experience!"

"Me and my friend have just come back from an unreal week staying in malia. The hotel was genuinely perfect lovely reception and staff. The reception area closes every night at 9pm. Location is perfect it’s situated right on the strip which is perfect for the nightlife. 10–15 mins walk to the beach and about 10 to malia old town. There’s also a big supermarket located about 5 mins away. Considering the hotel is located right on the strip the hotel is very quiet and you could not hear any noise from the strip. Air conditioning is such a reasonable price at around 7€ per day and it works amazingly. The maid was also lovely and did a really good job of cleaning the room she offered swapping the towels every other day. The pool over at the help bar, which is just across the road is perfect for what you need plenty of sun loungers and a grassed area too. The lady who works there is so lovely. You’re not allowed to bring in any food or drink from outside which is understandable as it is a bar, however we were often ok with just having a bottle of water with us. At night time they also offer some really good drink deals so would also recommend that. However, the only issue we faced was the transfer. We booked a package holiday with easyJet and our flight was a late night flight it was supposed to land around 10pm Crete time however we were delayed 2 hours and ended up getting to the location around 2am. The transfer pick up and drop off location is at the McDonalds on the strip approx 10 mins walk to the hotel. Me and my friend had to drag our suitcases through crowds of drunk people and dodge reps trying to drag us into their bars even with our suitcases. Just something to be very aware if you do have a late night flight during the busier season as this walk turns into a 20 minute due to the obstacles. 😂😭 For the price we paid Le Palme was really worth every penny we loved our stay and we would come back and stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you❤️"

"🪳 Cockroaches, Ants & Four Days of Cold Showers – We Came Home Early! My friend and I stayed at W Suites, Stalis from 27th September 2026. I’ll start with the positive. On arrival, Ben was very helpful, showed us to our apartment (number 6), and the staff in general were pleasant. Sadly, it went downhill rather quickly from there. First, the cockroaches. And I’m not talking about the occasional tiny insect. These cockroaches were so big they looked like they had prison tattoos and previous convictions. 🪳 Then came the ants. Ants everywhere. There is actually information on the apartment door explaining that ants can be a problem because the apartments are surrounded by greenery. Sorry, but I’ve stayed in plenty of places surrounded by greenery without having an ant army sharing my accommodation. Surely some form of pest control or ant treatment could be used rather than simply putting up a notice explaining why they are there? But the insects weren’t even the worst part. We had NO HOT WATER. At first, I was understanding. The weather had been dreadful, with thunderstorms and heavy rain, so I wondered whether that might have caused the problem. I reported it to reception and was told the technical team would sort the problem in apartment 6. They didn’t. I reported it again. And again. And again. For FOUR DAYS. Each day we were told there was a technical problem, yet each day we were still treated to another invigorating ice-cold shower. We weren’t the only guests complaining either, as people in other apartments were reporting the same issue. Hot water isn’t a luxury. Being able to have a warm shower and wash properly is one of the most basic things you expect when you pay for holiday accommodation. Eventually, after four days of freezing cold showers, cockroaches built like bouncers and ants marching around the apartment like they owned the place, we’d had enough. We actually cut our holiday short and flew home early. That says everything. It’s a shame because the staff themselves were pleasant, but repeatedly reporting such a basic problem and having nothing done about it completely ruined our holiday. Would I recommend W Suites? Absolutely not. Would I stay here again? I’d rather take my chances holidaying with the cockroaches — although judging by their size, I suspect they’re already paying the mortgage. 🪳"
