Rogers Hotel Manado
"I stayed here for a night. If you’re looking for a hotel with “unique” experiences, this one’s for you! The check-in was smooth, and the bed was decorated with abstract stains – perhaps part of the charm? Luckily, no soap to wash away the memory in the room. When asked, the staff, oh so polite, reassured me that the soap “could be conditioned” – whatever that means! And, the cherry on top: a delightful three-minute delay for a room check, just to make sure I didn’t snag a complimentary pen. I left feeling like a lottery winner who hit the jackpot of mediocrity. Truly a stay to remember! 🎉"

Sintesa Peninsula Hotel
"Photos on social media and online travel platforms do not represent the actual condition of this hotel. I booked this hotel for a sudden business trip after seeing its good ratings, nice photos, and active social media presence. Initially, I planned to stay for one night, but ended up checking out the same evening due to an unpleasant experience. Here are the details: I checked in around 7 PM and was given a room on the 8th floor. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I felt something was off — the corridor air-conditioning was off, the air was stuffy and had an unpleasant smell. When I entered the room, I immediately felt uncomfortable. The room was spacious but looked old and poorly maintained. Furniture was scratched and damaged, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or used in a while. The shampoo and body wash had expired since 2023, and the towels had a musty odor. Feeling uneasy and unable to relax, I went down to the reception carrying my belongings to request a room change. The second room was also on the 8th floor, but in a different wing. The staff said the lower floors were closed or fully occupied — which I found strange. This second room also had the same unpleasant atmosphere. When I turned on the air conditioner, a bad smell came out. Even stranger, the telephone cable was unplugged from the phone. I reconnected it and tried calling the reception, but there was no dial tone. A few minutes later, a male staff member (housekeeping or maintenance) suddenly knocked on my door, asking if I had just called for help. I told him I didn’t. I also noticed that the door latch lock was incomplete, as if it had been removed. I asked for another room and was again placed on the 8th floor, this time at the far end of the hallway, even farther from the elevator. The room felt the same — uncomfortable and unsettling. I turned on the TV to make some noise, but then I started hearing knocking sounds behind the TV, which moved toward the balcony. When I approached to check, the sound disappeared, only to return shortly after. At that point, I decided to pack my things and check out immediately around 8 PM. This hotel felt horrifying, and later I learned it’s considered an urban legend in Manado. My taxi driver told me during the ride to my new hotel that the building was formerly a Dutch-era hospital. After doing some online research, I discovered many similar eerie stories and reports from previous guests."
Travello Hotel Manado
"The hotel facilities need to be updated because they are quite old. Regarding the service, we expect that when checking in, guests will be informed that breakfast is available and the location will be announced."
Hotel Gran Puri Manado
"Lobby and pool area is nice. Smells bad in elevator and corridor. Room is ok with climatisation. Took 1h to get towels for the pool. For the restaurent, we ordered 3 plates. After 10 minutes, they came back saying they did not have the food. We say that we were going to another restaurent. They just agreed. Ask where is the nereast restaurent at the front desk. They say 10 minutes by car and wanted us to take a taxi. We went to Roger's Hotel restaurent which is just in front of the hotel (5 minutes walking)"
Thalassa Dive & Wellbeing Resort Manado
"Welcoming staff. Pleasant rooms .Excellent diving: crew, boats, guides. Helpfull in any way possible. Will be back soon"
Istanaku Guesthouse 2 Manado
"The hotel is reasonably priced. The breakfast is mediocre. However, for this price, including breakfast, this hotel is a good deal in Manado. The rooms are clean, everything works, and nothing is broken. In short, the maintenance is good. Most Western tourists come for Bunaken. They constantly count prices in euros and dollars, resulting in almost anybody in Manado treating Western tourists as cash. This hotel offers car excursions for ridiculously high prices, such as Rp 850,000 per person, while a price of around Rp 700,000 for a car with a driver would be normal. If four Western tourists go on a day trip, they would pay 4 x Rp 850,000 = Rp 3.4 million. The average monthly salary in Indonesia is approximately Rp 3.8 million. In short, Manadonese people should understand that by offering motor cycles and cars for rent and offering excursions at reasonable prices, they can sell much more than by selling excursions to a single tourist at ridiculously high prices. Because I speak Indonesian well, I can arrange a car with driver through the locals for a normal price, but this should simply be offered to Western tourists through hotels."
S Loft Manado
"Stay one night passing through... Bit to much pricing for a walk in guest at night but we need a place to crash, room are great, well furnished and nice design but need to have detail maintenance. Small things but matter the whole experience, shower heads need to be cleaned properly to make sure the water came out nicely "
Green Eden Hotel
"Good location. Overall acceptable."
Three R Hotel
"Clean and hygienic, very good Suitable for business trips and travel."
