Melia Hotels in Shanghai

This hotel near Disney is truly stunning, with a great ambiance and unique architecture. It's so peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle of Disney. It's only a 10-minute walk to Disneyland, and there's a shuttle buggy that runs between the hotel's gate and the lobby, which is quite convenient. The hotel's dinner and breakfast selection is limited, and the restaurant is small and has mosquitoes. The concierge at the front desk has mosquito repellent if you need it. The service, however, was quite average. For example, when I asked the restaurant about mosquito repellent, they said they didn't have any, but when I asked the front desk myself, they did. The restaurant is right across from the front desk, so they could practically hear our conversation. The restaurant staff seemed indifferent. What was even more outrageous was when I felt breathless and anxious at night and called to ask if they had a blood pressure monitor or oximeter. They said no. I then asked if they could call an ambulance, and they replied that the nearest hospital was about a 30-minute drive away. When I asked if they could help arrange a taxi, I was told that wasn't possible and I'd have to hail one myself to the hospital. This isn't the kind of response you'd expect from a five-star hotel; they seemed completely unconcerned about the guest's safety. Luckily, after resting for a bit, my discomfort subsided. I've had similar experiences at other five-star hotels where the staff were incredibly caring, constantly calling to check on my condition. The difference between dedicated and unhelpful service is stark.
