3-Star Hotels in Colchester

Overall, I had a decent stay. The room itself was nice and felt very safe—you enter a secure code to get into the building, followed by a single key to access your room, which gave great peace of mind. A huge kudos to the team for letting me store my luggage after checkout until 3:00 p.m. It was quite hot during my stay and there wasn't a fan in the room initially, but the staff managed to find me one on the second day, which I really appreciated. The windows in my room were broken so I had to leave them propped open, but it wasn't too big of an issue for me. The room was fine overall and stocked with plenty of tissue, plus tea and coffee (though I didn't end up using those). My main critique is the shower—it was a bit dirty, and you could see some mold/fungus build-up on the shower head. Other than the shower cleanliness, everything was all right for a short stay!

Ideal place for a short stay everything is covered great accommodation quite setting and lovely pool and games room good for all ages.

We loved staying at the blue anchor. Highly recommended!!!

First thing I noticed was the excellent friendly service at the front counter. This service continued at breakfast the next morning, which was very nice - it was a menu-style breakfast where you order a breakfast you would like. Breakfast with salmon had a small supplement. The room was mostly okay, although there were some stains on the bedsheet. Inclusion of earplugs was a nice touch as it is on the main road - I happen to like the city noise, but ended up using them to block out the noise of the fan (there is no air conditioning). The bathroom had nice toiletries although we noticed that the cold tap ran hot for quite a while before it got cold. Overall the stay was fine, but with lots of hotels available in Colchester it wouldn’t be my first pick to return.

Was amazing just need a later check out and being able to reserve it without paying

Lovely modern room. Great wet room. We run out of toilet paper and no other left in room. Bed was very comfortable. Hairdryer, iron and dressing gown in room.  Hotels fire alarm definitely worked as got woken at 7am to evacuate building. Security were very quick to sort issue, guest had lit candle in one of the rooms. Used the swimming pool steam room and spa which was free.  Good variety of food at breakfast with good view of surrounding grounds. Big car park free of charge

Very convenient for my needs as my wife was in hospital but I was not allowed to stay with her close to everything that you will need very friendly and helpful staff

The staff were friendly   One of our rooms was far 2 small for a double   Plus mattress was stained quite badly room 3  bath was clean as were towels Other room was lovely and spacious    But very dirty   No cleaning   Plus the shampoo etc were empty( products obviously left by someone else) and shower jel been very used   Towels were clean  Bath was ciean   Tv worked well but very dirty had to wipe before viewing  hanging space wasn’t clean either for  clothes    Very disappointed overall
