GGuest UserI booked this hotel quite last minute before my trip, and I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was. After reading some reviews, I opted for a twin room for more space, and even though it's near a main road, it was very quiet at night. The room was clean and tidy, and housekeeping came daily. The hotel offers a variety of self-service toiletries you can pick up, and a special touch I appreciated was the complimentary overnight face masks. Downstairs, there's a large AEON food supermarket, and the Shiyobashi Subway Station Exit 2 is just a short walk away. Getting to Shinsaibashi only takes a few minutes. It's incredibly convenient for getting anywhere – truly a hotel that has it all!

RRowell SantiagoI recently stayed at Hotel Cargo Shinsaibashi during my trip to Osaka, and I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and quality packed into this compact, capsule-style accommodation. One of the biggest highlights of my stay was the toilet and bathroom area — exceptionally clean, modern, and cozy. Despite being a shared facility, everything was spotless and well-maintained at all times. The design was sleek, and the space felt more like a boutique hotel than a budget capsule. The toilets are equipped with Japan’s signature high-tech bidet functions, and the overall cleanliness really exceeded my expectations. Even the subtle lighting and warm wood tones added to the relaxing feel every time I used the bathroom. The rest of the hotel was equally impressive. The capsules were comfortable, quiet, and felt more private than I expected. The lounge area was a nice place to relax or do a bit of planning for the day. Plus, the location is perfect — just a short walk from Shinsaibashi shopping street and a quick train ride to most Osaka hotspots. If you’re looking for a well-designed, clean, and cozy place to stay in Osaka, I highly recommend Hotel Cargo Shinsaibashi. Especially if you value hygiene and comfort in shared facilities, this hotel delivers above and beyond.

Hhuam****I initially booked for three days, and was so pleased with the hotel that I extended my stay for another seven. We ended up staying a total of seven days here. Besides the excellent location and convenient transportation, the room size was decent and didn't feel cramped. Plus, in addition to a shower, there was also a bathtub.

AAnonymous User1. The location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to Shinsaibashi, and there's a subway station nearby. The area is fantastic for exploring, with plenty of izakayas and convenience stores. 2. The lobby has a wide array of daily necessities like toothbrushes, facial masks, combs, bath powders, etc. You can take what you need. 3. Although the room is small, it's well-equipped and perfectly functional (mini-fridge, TV, hairdryer, and a humidifier, which is essential for dry winter air and helps reduce static! 🙂). You can choose different room sizes (which affects the price). 4. The cleanliness is excellent, very spotless, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. 5. The hotel breakfast is also very good (1600 Yen), but unfortunately, I didn't have time to try it. 6. The front desk staff are all very polite and enthusiastic.

JjoyingladyThe hotel's location is quite good, not far from the Shinsaibashi shopping district and Dotonbori, and closest to Nagahoribashi subway station. Aside from the slightly small bathroom, the room wasn't too cramped. The breakfast was pretty good for the price. For a two-day trip, I highly recommend considering the Osaka Amazing Pass, which offers free subway rides and entry to nearly 40 attractions (Osaka Castle Park + cruise, Tempozan Ferris Wheel + cruise, Tsutenkaku Tower, etc.).

RRoman PanteleevIt was a good hotel! It has awesome location, very quick check-in, an option for storing your luggage after check-out. A lot of stores and interesting food spots near hotel. However, the cleanliness could be better. We saw a cockroach BUT in the lobby. We didn’t see them in our rooms at 3d floor. Also the rooms are quite small but it is not a minus. It is just the way it is in Japan Overall, it is not pricey and it pays of well. Even exceeds expectations in some ways. I would consider it again for my stay!

AAmarFromUKLocation: Next to Bentencho station so easy access to Osaka loop line and Chuo Line for Subway and Rail. Really good location even though it's not central Osaka. The advantage is that you can still get everywhere within 10-20mins and the surrounding area is clean and safe and quiet. There is a 7-11 next door and a commercial gym (charged at 1650 per day) Negatives are there is not much to do in the evenings. But this leads to the quietness of the area and is an advantage Hotel Room: We stayed in double room and it was large. Nice comfortable bed with good pillows. The AC was modern and good and did not make noise even while we were asleep. The room is cleaned daily (tidy and new towels) with new sheets every 3 days. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. The room was also very clean. The bed has USB and chargers on either side of it. There is space to hang clothes But the room is really nice. We always were glad to come back to a very clean and tidy place. The TV has English menus but we never watched anything. Negatives are the fridge could be colder and the bathroom sink has a tiny slope on it so you cannot place product on the sink but you have a shelf above the sink for this. Very slight negatives for what is a great place to stay Hotel features: Excellent. Great laundry room with several washers & dryers. Trouser presses, vending machine and ice machine. A rooftop terrace with good views. The breakfast is free and is underwhelming, just different bread and pastries with choices of juice, soups, water and yogurt. It's acceptable and I guess it's free. The hotel lobby has little items you can take if needed, such as hair bands, toothbrushes, razor kits but something nice was that they give you bath bombs for free too. Different ones each day. Staff: Very friendly and helpful, even after midnight when I made requests they were very fast and helpful Overview: 100% would stay here again. The price-to-quality ratio and the large room size make this an easy choice. Do not worry about location, I stayed it Dontonburi area before and alothgh its close to everything, its loud, dirty and feels unsafe. But the location of Porta Inn is really good and super easy to get to central areas (around 10-20mins) and easy to get to the airport (direct line) and easy to get to Universal Studios too.

나리WangThis hostel is an absolute gem! The location couldn't be more perfect—just a short walk from the stunning Osaka Castle, the fascinating museum, and the beautiful surrounding park. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to offer helpful local tips. The area is super convenient, packed with convenience stores and with metro stations close by, making exploring the entire city a breeze. The atmosphere was warm, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. For the price, the value is outstanding. I truly enjoyed my stay here and will be recommending it to all my friends. Without a doubt, I will choose this hostel again on my next trip to Osaka!

DDr. Justin HattThis hotel appears to have recently been purchased by the LiveMax Group and so, it was really challenging trying to find this location when I first arrived because the name on trip.com had changed, but the name on various map applications still referred to the original name. The location itself is pretty much halfway between two metro stations, so it is a little bit of a walk away from a station, which is a bit of a problem when you have luggage, although this can easily be rectified by getting a taxi using Uber or another similar application. One thing to note about the location that might be a concern for some particular guests is that there are a lot of bars and locations nearby, including one neighbouring location, that provide explicit services for more “mature” audiences. Generally speaking, though, there were no issues that came up, particularly with the location itself as it remained generally quiet, and Japan is usually considered a safer location for visiting anyway. Staff at the hotel can speak some English, which is good, and they are very helpful. Their service was great throughout. There is also a breakfast buffet every morning, and they serve a wide variety of foods in this buffet; the only thing you need to watch out for is to make sure that you eat everything that you take because they have a clear sign posted to tell you that they will charge a fee if you waste food unnecessarily. The hotel does have a laundromat below ground level, but I did not see much else for amenities. The hotel offers house cleaning daily, but you must request it at reception before 10 AM; otherwise, they will not service your room. The room itself was small, but I understood this going into the hotel and as a solo traveler, this was reasonable. There is a capsule style washroom in the room, similar to other hotels I have visited in Osaka, with a full toilet with bidet features And a tap that works for the sink and bathtub both. The bathtub, however, was smaller at one end and was more challenging to use, especially for me as someone who is a little bit bigger, although not impossible. The one major issue I had, though, was with the ventilation above the bathtub, which clearly was caked in dust; I was able to clean out the dust myself, but I did require house cleaning immediately after. I did have to request house cleaning a few times during the stay, not solely for the issue of the dust, but also because the towels that were provided were not very thick and so, needed to be replaced more often.

MM266273****The room was very clean; although a bit small, it had everything we needed. The breakfast was plentiful, especially the Chinese food options. The location is excellent, very close to JR Osaka Station and Umeda Station, making transportation very convenient. There are also many pubs, restaurants, and supermarkets nearby, so finding places to eat or shop for groceries was a breeze.
