Amazing
AAnonymous UserI chose to stay at J-SHIP Capsule Hotel this time, and its transportation was incredibly convenient. You can take a bus directly from Kansai Airport to OCAT, and the hotel is just a few minutes' walk away. Access to the main downtown and shopping areas was also very easy. The entire accommodation was very clean, and the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The only minor drawback was that the sleeping pod felt a bit stuffy and warm, and I wished the air conditioning could be a bit stronger. They have a great public bath, which was wonderfully relaxing to soak in after a day of shopping. An excellent choice for solo travelers.

RRowell SantiagoI recently stayed at Hotel Cargo Shinsaibashi during my trip to Osaka, and I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and quality packed into this compact, capsule-style accommodation.
One of the biggest highlights of my stay was the toilet and bathroom area — exceptionally clean, modern, and cozy. Despite being a shared facility, everything was spotless and well-maintained at all times. The design was sleek, and the space felt more like a boutique hotel than a budget capsule. The toilets are equipped with Japan’s signature high-tech bidet functions, and the overall cleanliness really exceeded my expectations. Even the subtle lighting and warm wood tones added to the relaxing feel every time I used the bathroom.
The rest of the hotel was equally impressive. The capsules were comfortable, quiet, and felt more private than I expected. The lounge area was a nice place to relax or do a bit of planning for the day. Plus, the location is perfect — just a short walk from Shinsaibashi shopping street and a quick train ride to most Osaka hotspots.
If you’re looking for a well-designed, clean, and cozy place to stay in Osaka, I highly recommend Hotel Cargo Shinsaibashi. Especially if you value hygiene and comfort in shared facilities, this hotel delivers above and beyond.

This place made me rethink the idea of capsule hotels! If you’re a solo traveler, this is an excellent choice - very affordable and right at the center of the action.
Rooms were a bit toasty, I would prefer them cooler. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to crank up the AC as it is centralized. As expected, it is a double decker and very compact, but it has enough space for a tall guy, I’m a short king so everything was great. Each capsule has a TV and enough sockets to charge your devices. Beds were alright. You’ll still have decent privacy despite the capsule set up.
This is a mostly self-service hotel. You take some of the amenities (toothbrushes, combs, etc) and they also provide you indoor clothes you can wear while inside the hotel and in the sauna, onsen and bathrooms. Towels are provided everyday or you can ask them at the counter. I like that they keep it very clean. They clean the public areas everyday.
The only downside is probably the space at the lockers, so you would need to manage your clothes, toiletries, etc very well especially when the luggages fill up the space.
The location was the best part of staying at this hotel. Right next to it was a 7-Eleven so you know you’re covered with everything you need. It’s a few minutes walk to the Namba MRT station. It’s very accessible and it’s at the heart of Osaka.
A pretty solid 4/5 for me. I will definitely stay again when I solo travel to Osaka!

AAnonymous UserThe women's communal showers had a strong smell of urine, which felt very unhygienic. There were only two shower cubicles, so we often had to queue outside to use them.
The room size was adequate, and there were lockable drawers under the bed. However, the room door itself could not be locked, which was a significant safety concern.
I stayed in women's dorm room 422. Throughout the night and early morning, staff members were constantly entering and exiting, performing some unidentified tasks. They were slamming doors and rearranging items, creating a significant amount of noise. To my surprise, in the morning, a male staff member entered the women's dorm room to tidy it up, which made me feel very unsafe.
Before check-in, explicit rules were stated prohibiting noise and eating in the rooms, even requiring headphones for watching TV. Despite these strict rules for guests, their own staff continuously made noise, leading to a very poor night's sleep.
The location, however, was extremely convenient.

AAmanzhol YestekovLocals don’t usually come here to sleep — they come to wash, relax, and go through the full spa ritual.
There are three types of steam rooms, a circular shower, and three baths:
two hot ones at around 41°C, and one cold shock bath at around 11°C.
You dip in and instantly feel alive.
One unique feature — every hour they run a group steam ritual, like a collective massage & heat therapy session. Very Japanese, and surprisingly affordable. Definitely worth trying.
There’s also an inexpensive breakfast option, plus vending machines with food and drinks right inside — very convenient.
Overall, it’s a men-only vibe: arrive, clean up, relax, reset, and go about your day.
The capsule is just a bonus on top of the sauna experience.
They give you clothing — not a robe, but loose Japanese pants and an oversized T-shirt.
You get your own locker, bedding and clothes are changed daily, and the bathrooms have literally everything: toothbrush, toothpaste, gels, shampoo… even nail clippers. You don’t need to bring anything.
Location is fantastic — right next to Dotonbori. Step outside and you’re instantly in the heart of Osaka’s nightlife and energy.
Downsides?
A strict checkout — you must leave at 10:00 AM, and check-in starts only after 3:00 PM.
If you want to stay during that gap, it’s around 300 yen per hour, or ~900 yen for the day.
Still — great experience. I always wanted to try a real Japanese capsule stay.
Inside the capsule there’s a TV, radio, adjustable lights, and AC — though it blasts pretty strongly, so I turned it off.

I was thrilled to have the entire room to myself! The space is clean, comfortable, and offers a wonderful sense of freedom. An added bonus was meeting fellow travelers from various countries. Truly exceptional value for money! 👍

DDarinDarwishThis was not my first hostel experience, and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed.
Let’s start with the positive aspects first:
The location was absolutely perfect — I don’t think you could find a better place to stay in Namba. Everything was close by, and getting around was very easy.
Also, the staff were extremely, extremely friendly, and we received fresh towels every day, which I really appreciated.
Now, onto the things that bothered me:
First, the cleanliness: It wasn’t really clean. In the showers, there was always a lot of hair and dirt in the gaps where you enter and exit, which was quite unpleasant.
During my stay, someone vomited in the public sink area, and it was not cleaned up overnight — it was still there even at 10 a.m. the next morning. Because of that, the house smelled strongly of vomit for a while.
That night, and in general, there was often an unpleasant smell in the kitchen area as well.
Without wanting to discriminate, I noticed that many older people were staying at the hostel (since apparently there was no age restriction). Some of them would loudly clear their throats and spit phlegm into the sinks, even early in the morning, which was quite disturbing and unhygienic.
Another issue was the temperature: The room was extremely hot at night, and since so many people were sleeping in one room, the air became very stuffy. Even inside your capsule, it was uncomfortably warm.
One last point: On the day of arrival, the address on Trip.com was wrong, which made it very hard to find the hostel. It took me almost an hour and a half to find it, especially because it was very hidden with no clear signage outside.
I really hope that in the future, there will also be an age limit for guests.

GGuest UserI will use it with four family members to go to the Osaka Expo. We exchanged check-in time by email in advance, and it was very smooth on the day.
In midsummer Osaka, it was so hot that I thought I would fall, and the air conditioning was very good and comfortable in the facility.
The shower room was also clean and the bed was enough to heal the fatigue.
There is a 7-Eleven near the hotel, and the station at Osaka Port is also in front of you.
There are no four-person rooms in other hotels, so it is recommended to use it in families and groups.
I wanted to stay again.

RRoman.KusThe place is at a very good location. There are many alternatives but Kaga has nice floor planning and balconies to enjoy the view. The staff is very polite. There is sento inside and also can purchase discounted tickets for the sento nearby.
I had a double room but unfortunately I had bed bugs in the sheets. I asked the staff to change the room and they helped me, which I appreciate very much!
So, don’t hesitate to choose this spot because if you face problems the staff will help.
