AAnonymous UserI'd give this hotel a mediocre 3-star rating.
The food was good, the outdoor dining environment was comfortable, and we even received a souvenir upon departure.
However, for a hotel priced at over 700 in a fourth-tier city, and with such a high 4.9 rating, the overall experience was far below expectations.
Firstly, it's the first time I've encountered such an expensive room rate without a dedicated butler service. No one reached out to me via WeChat throughout my stay, and there was no phone in the room, meaning I had to go down to the front desk on the first floor to find a staff member.
Upon arrival, no one offered to help with our luggage to the room.
When trying to order crucian carp, they consistently refused, insisting on recommending crucian carp with rice. The female front desk staff member was quite assertive.
Secondly, the sleep experience was very poor. We came seeking the tranquility of the countryside, but were woken up at 8 AM by the sound of drilling from nearby construction. It completely ruined our initial intention of relaxing. I also mentioned this to the gentleman who seemed to be the owner at the tea counter, but he simply brushed it off with a casual remark and left. His attitude towards guests was also rather cold.
For breakfast, the taro was rotten and smelled bad! They don't have heated buffet equipment; all the food is served in regular plates. What's more, guests were required to wear masks when getting food. Their own equipment is inadequate, yet they expect guests to accommodate them!
Finally, the check-out experience was not good. We had planned to have lunch at the restaurant at 11:30 AM. Just as we were about to order, the same female front desk staff member informed us that we had to check out by 12:30 PM, so we decisively gave up on having lunch there.
At over 700, the price is already on the higher side for Kaiping, but it didn't match the corresponding service quality and living experience. The value for money is a bit low. I definitely won't be staying here again. Next time, I'll try Lazy Cat.

**Shuttle Service (Taishan High-speed Rail Station/Taishan Bus Station/Taishan Airport Terminal/Various Taishan Hong Kong and Macau Bus Stops)**: The shuttle service was excellent. It only took ten minutes from the high-speed rail station to the hotel, which was very convenient.

MM26754****The hotel offered a free upgrade to a suite, which was fantastic. The room was clean, and its proximity to the elevated exit made getting around very convenient. Downstairs, there's a shopping mall, so grabbing a bite to eat was super easy. All in all, I had a really enjoyable trip.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the smart toilet was a nice touch! My only minor complaint would be that the air conditioning wasn't very effective; it would be much more convenient to operate it directly with a remote control.

MMatWWe have spent a five days trip with family members for Chinese New Year holiday. It is really a magnificent hotel with excellent location and with very high standard of cleaness. This is seldomly found in this rank of the hotel. The breakfast is tasty with all my favorite stuff. One of the facilities I loved it very much is their self laundry service which gives me a great help on washing as well as drying all daily dressed clothes at the same day. Thus, I can bring much less clothes for the trip with worry free. The room style is iconic and cozy to stay with all daily necessities needed. More importantly, the washroom has a high degree of pravicy. This will be very suitable for family members to stay in the same room. Also, the entire hotel is maintained in a brandnew condition as I have stayed few years ago. Lastly, there are numerous restaurants proximity to the hotel, so, we can grab food to eat very easily.

AAnonymous UserThe room was nice, and the facilities for children were excellent. My only minor gripe was that for a room costing over a thousand, there weren't any complimentary snacks. Everything else was great! I was especially delighted that they provided children's pillows!
The hotel's breakfast was quite average, not particularly tasty. We went on a Saturday, so the breakfast area was incredibly crowded.
The hotel is split into two buildings and also has playground facilities, which is a nice touch. Everything in the hotel feels new, and the cleanliness is decent. However, we stayed on the first floor, and our balcony was right next to the road. If you didn't close the door, privacy was quite poor. There was no frosted glass or anything, just plain transparent glass.
I'll share some real photos to give you an idea. I'd definitely choose this hotel again! I hope my review helps you with your decision!

RRita_gzThe hotel is located within the scenic area, not far from the North Gate. After entering through the North Gate, you can walk to the hotel without needing to take the shuttle bus.
However, breakfast is served on the first floor of a different building, and the variety is extremely limited. Let's just say it's enough to ensure you don't go hungry.
The biggest issue with the hotel is the poor soundproofing. If someone in the next room lets out a loud f*rt, you'll hear it (๑-﹏-๑) And if you happen to get a noisy family with kids next door, prepare for an immersive, sleepless night!
Overall, it's a livable place with decent value for money, as long as your expectations aren't too high.

GGuest UserThe hotel is relatively new as compared to some of the other ones in the neighborhood. The room we booked was nice and clean. Unfortunately, they don’t have a fridge in the room which is inconvenient. The breakfast included was plentiful but quality is mediocre. But, this is no complaints considering this used to be a rural area of Kaiping. There are a few variety stores in close proximity that you can get some fruits and drinks so that is good. Will stay there again next time.

GGuest UserI had a pleasant stay at the Manley Hotel during my visit to Taishan. The service was excellent—staff were attentive, helpful, and made the experience feel welcoming from check-in to check-out.
The location is very convenient, with plenty of restaurants and shopping options just steps away. Even if you need to head into downtown Taishan, taxis are easy to find and very affordable, making it simple to get around the city.
The breakfast offered at the hotel was great, though it’s worth noting that it’s entirely Chinese cuisine—something I personally enjoyed, especially for an authentic local experience.
The downside was the laundry dryer— There was only one dryer for 3 washing machines, it didn’t work very efficiently and took about six hours to dry a single load, which was a bit frustrating.
The Wi-Fi was also very unreliable, it would connect and then drop constantly. Even when it would work, the speeds would fluctuate.
Overall, I’d recommend the Manley Hotel for its excellent service, local charm, and convenient location.
