4-Star Hotels in Shengsi

We went on September 30th, just in time for the typhoon, and ended up stranded on the island for three nights. The landlady gave us a discount, and the owner personally cooked lunch for us – a very warm and welcoming experience. The rooms had a great view and excellent soundproofing; we could barely hear the waves at night. The guesthouse was beautiful and peaceful, with a stylish design and flowers and plants everywhere. They even had rabbits, quails, golden retrievers, and koi fish, giving it a very homey feel. It was practically my dream retirement place; the longer we stayed, the less we wanted to leave.

I booked a Greek style room. The room is not big. It is a bit damp and cold in the mountain, but it is warmer with the air conditioner. The hotel has two buildings of different styles. The Moroccan style is the main building. It is said that the rooms are bigger and the facilities are better. The restaurant and lobby are here, which is very good for taking photos. There is a large range of outdoor activities, provided the weather is good. I hope the hotel will get better and better, and the comfort of the bedding and the smart toilet can be upgraded. The housekeeper is very good. If you need anything, tell her on WeChat, and she can also help call a taxi.

The environment is very clean and the staff are very nice and answer all your questions. They also very considerately arranged a car to pick up and drop off from the pier. Not far from the scenic spot. The food in the restaurant also tastes great👍The beach is right at the door, and the children like it very much. Next time I go to the island, I will choose minnow.

Perched on a cliff, the views from this guesthouse are, of course, incredible. The only minor workout is the uphill walk back after exploring, haha. To the left of the guesthouse entrance, you'll quickly reach Xiyang Bay, boasting super beautiful scenery. Turn right and head downhill; a short walk following your navigation will lead you directly to the town center. The large swimming pool features a swing chair, perfect for sitting in the evening, enjoying the sea breeze, and watching the sunset. It's incredibly relaxing, as the platform offers wide, unobstructed views. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The only slight hiccup was the balcony door; I couldn't figure out how to open it for a long time, and the front desk eventually had to come up and show me. Otherwise, everything else was perfectly fine. Each room receives two complimentary drinks; just ask the bar. They also provide a convenient free pier shuttle service. All my photos were taken within the guesthouse grounds. There's no need to even step out; you can easily spend hours capturing beautiful shots right here. The lower level, in particular, has a wonderful Moroccan vibe. On checkout day, the kind lady at the bar noticed me waiting for my driver and thoughtfully brought me a complimentary slice of watermelon.

Wonderful hotel! Amazing design for area and wonderful views. Awesome service as well. The main host is very friendly and very helpful. The island as a whole is a bit lacking in activities. But the hotel itself is great. Some general suggestions for the hotel would be to add some hooks near the bathroom for towel hanging and put chairs on the beautiful balconies so it easier to use that space.

Located within the Liujingtan Scenic Area, this spot is a bit remote with no amenities nearby. But precisely because of this, you get to enjoy a private beach all to yourself, a refreshing change from the crowded Jihu Beach. You can head to the beach whenever you like for a swim or stroll, and even try foraging for seafood in the mornings. The 'Stargazer Dome' can get quite warm in summer, so make sure to turn on the AC well in advance. Despite this, the views are absolutely stunning. The butler service is also excellent; they'll help you book taxis, arrange electric scooter rentals, and even provide complimentary joint tickets for the Liujingtan and Shangtao areas. For those who enjoy hiking, it's definitely worth exploring on foot.

I have been worried that the accommodation on the island is not satisfactory, and I did not book in advance! Even during the process, I have been to many, including the so-called high-end homestay on Shengshan Island, and I feel that it is not good! Until I see this! It is the standard of a real hotel-level hotel everything! From the elevator to the material of the door, the capitalist air conditioning in the lobby! The professionalism of the front desk staff! Including the facilities, configuration, washing supplies in the room! There are also towels and slippers comfortable! None of them surprises me! ! I can say that this boss is definitely a boss with feelings, aesthetics, and institutional sense! The only regret is that I slept too well, I didn't go to breakfast directly, I don't know how breakfast is! Hahahaha!

From Hangzhou, the car and boat to Huaniao Island, stayed at the Yuebai Qingkong B&B, the whole journey experience was very pleasant. The view of the infinity pool on the top floor of the hotel is really amazing. The pool faces the open sea directly, and the islands and reefs are scattered in the distance. You can see the white wall fishing village at the foot of the mountain when you look down. The lounge chairs are placed on the pool platform. In the evening, under the clear blue sky, the sea breeze blows over the bay. The scenery is stretched and cured, and the film is very popular. Standing on the observation deck, a whole island fishing village is connected to the blue sea, and the native town of Flower and Bird Island is full of scenery. The boss is on call, and the route around the island and the fluorescent sea view location will be carefully reminded and led everyone to travel. The overall atmosphere of the homestay is quiet, you can go out for a walk around the island, or you can nest in the top terrace pool all day to watch the sea, leisurely and relax.

We stayed in a suite for three nights, checking in on June 1st. The room itself was generally good. However, the housekeeping staff clearly needs more training and improvement in their basic procedures and standards. On our first day, only one coffee packet was provided, which was inconvenient for two guests. The next day, there were no coffee packets at all, and we had to call the front desk to get two delivered. On the third day, the trash bin in the bedroom wasn't emptied. When I went to brush my teeth that evening, I found one toothbrush missing, while an extra comb was left. This meant I couldn't brush my teeth that night or the following morning, which was a terrible experience. These consecutive errors highlight how careless and unprofessional the staff's work is. There's a clear lack of proper checking and review in room cleaning, and this needs a thorough overhaul.

After arriving in Shengsi from Sanjiang Wharf, you can go directly to the Bainaqi Lake Beach Hotel for check-in. The two locations are about 3 kilometers apart, a mere 8-minute drive. The hotel is just a short walk from the hotel, leading directly to Bainaqi Lake Beach, known as the ”Southern Beidaihe,” with its fine, soft sand, making it a core base for exploring Shengsi's islands. It's recommended to head straight to Bainaqi Lake Beach after dropping off your luggage on your first day. During the day, you can enjoy water sports such as beach go-karts, jet skis, and banana boats, or simply walk barefoot on the sand and splash in the waves, relaxing on a beach chair and enjoying the sea breeze. In the evening, watch the sunset paint the sea orange, creating stunning photos. After nightfall, stroll along the nearby Jinsha Road seafood street and enjoy a fresh seafood barbecue. If you're lucky, you might even catch a beach bonfire party. For a more off-the-beaten-path experience, bring a small flashlight and search for small crabs and clams on the beach – a truly fun activity. On the second day, we recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise over the sea at Liujingtan or Heshangtao. The white lighthouse against the orange glow of dawn is a classic photo opportunity in Shengsi. Before heading back, you can visit the Donghai Fishing Ground Museum to learn about Shengsi's fishing culture, or cycle along the Left Bank Road, enjoying the sea breeze and the stunning scenery of cliffs, flower fields, and fishing villages blending together. Afterwards, head to the Bernabéu Hotel to rest, as it's a convenient departure point for your return trip to Shenjiawan Wharf. The temperature difference between day and night on the island is significant, so we recommend bringing a light jacket. When playing on the beach, remember to wear sunscreen and comfortable sandals. Driving is convenient. We suggest booking ferry tickets in advance through official channels, and be sure to allow ample time to reach the wharf.
