"Facilities: The guesthouse is professionally managed, much like a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised that disposable bath amenities were even provided. The sea-view rooms offer a truly immersive experience. Breakfast was easily the best we've had across all the island guesthouses, prepared with a professional touch.
Cleanliness: The place was spotlessly clean, and housekeeping was remarkably prompt.
Environment: Located very close to the main street. The communal area on the first floor has a lovely charming vibe, perfect for reading, enjoying a cup of tea, and gazing at the sea.
Service: The host was incredibly patient and thoughtful. They proactively sent us schedules for boat trips and local cultural activities on the island and were always incredibly accommodating with our requests. They even took us to see the bioluminescent sea at night!
I highly recommend this guesthouse; it offers incredible value for money. I'll definitely be returning."

The waves hit the reefs, and the sound heals the hurried soul of the city. You don't have to do anything, just sit there, everything is worth it.
The owner of the B&B is very kind, welcoming and seeing off, just like an old friend who has known each other for a long time; the home-cooked dishes are delicious and affordable, and they also come with their own seafood and island stories. In the evening, the hostess will lead us to find the fluorescent sea and go to a romantic nature...
This time, we stayed in the ”Spring Warm” family room, which was suitable for a family of three. The room has a very good view, the floor-to-ceiling windows face the sea, and you can see the century-old lighthouse from a distance. In short, it is a five-star praise. If I go again next time, I will book in advance."

RRares MAn excellent stay on Shengshan Island. Before we even arrived, the owner already contacted us on WeChat with information about our stay and gave us very comprehensive tips for our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located, next to the boat port, the main entry onto Shengshan, and it is just across it. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived off the boat and helped us get our luggage. They have a very convenient luggage lift which means that you don't have to lug anything up the stairs. The hotel feels clean, luxurious, comfy and homely at the same time. It is a family run hotel and the reception is very warm. Our room was very clean and everything that was needed was provided. The view was spectacular from our room (image provided). The bed was very comfy and the lounger was perfect for watching the sea within the comfort of your room. The pool downstairs is great to cool off after a day out exploring. The breakfast provided was very nice and simple, some youtiao (Chinese fried dough, similar to churros), soy milk and sweet and savoury buns.
All in all an excellent experience, and we thank the hosts for everything.

LLanlinlucyThis guesthouse, perched on a hill, seems to be quite popular with influencers, featuring many Instagrammable photo spots. Both the rooms and the restaurant boast floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea, with the rooms directly facing the Rainbow Lighthouse. The restaurant's view is also fantastic; having breakfast with that sea view in the morning is incredibly enjoyable. Unfortunately, the weather on our first day was terrible, with strong winds and heavy rain, which completely dampened my enthusiasm for taking photos. I imagine it would be amazing to visit in the summer! The in-room amenities were a bit lacking; perhaps to maintain a stylish look, there weren't many power outlets. However, the service attitude was absolutely superb—they were always ready to help. They even gave plenty of advice to us fishing novices who were enthusiastic but unskilled. I must also mention the free pick-up and drop-off service, which saved us a good amount of money, considering that taxi fares on Shengshan and Gouqi Islands can be quite expensive. The recommended driver was also very nice. I'd definitely come back in the summer just for this level of service!

GGuest UserThe room is really beautiful, with no blind spots and sea view rooms. The whole house is smart. The water curtain flower room restaurant is also very beautiful. You can dine at sunset and make great movies. The dishes are also delicious and the ingredients are fresh. The most noteworthy thing is the service. They are responsive to every request. The child had a fever on the second day and they helped us prepare a fever-reducing patch. They also helped us cook white porridge for dinner. It's so thoughtful. I will choose this restaurant next time I go.

JJimmysandwichesWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel on Gouqi Island. The room offered a beautiful sea view, which made our stay especially relaxing and memorable. The location is also very convenient—just a short walk to a lively food street with plenty of dining options to choose from.
What truly made this experience exceptional, though, was the owner’s kindness and hospitality. When we unfortunately fell ill during our stay, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. His support during that time meant a lot to us. He also kindly helped arrange transportation, which made everything much easier.
To top it off, we were welcomed with a thoughtful gift at check-in, which was a lovely touch. I really can’t rate this hotel highly enough—both for the facilities and, most importantly, for the genuine care and generosity shown to us.

VVictor RUWe had a lovely stay at Sea Cliff Hotel for May 1st break.
This is what I liked:
- buying ship ticket for May holiday was mission impossible, starting with Tickets App not accepting foreign passports. Hotel helped me with arranging the tickets both ways, even after there were no tickets online (sold out in 20 min)
- they arranged a pick us up on arrival and brought us back to the pier on departure
- hotel has an excellent sea view location, very silent and sea centric rooms, same for restaurant
- everything is modern, I specifically liked ability to share Apple screens on TV in the room, great way to review photos and watch own movies in the evening
- good breakfast 8 to 9AM, you can come 8:45 and enjoy a late breakfast as well; we also had late lunch in hotel restaurant on arrival, great food, great to seat outside, flexible working hours (not closed 14-17!), actually I liked their meals more than what we had on the main beach top restaurant, finally reception can brew you a coffee though bit hot
- there is 20 min walk from the hotel for a great bay and coffee place to watch sunset, excellent experience and no need to wake up early
- hotel was always online on WeChat to address any issues or questions, including how to organize a day, fantastic services!
- hotel has own beach area, looks like good to swim, I will consider for summer, water is clean on the island, and this is just couple of hours from Shanghai
- small drawback: fishing boats pass by from early morning, this may disturb your morning sleep ;)
- other thing the bed is a bit too hard for my back, but where did you see soft beds in China?
Overall: highly recommended!

GGuest UserIt's a great place to stay. It was the best experience staying there. The location is very beautiful and close to nature, you will have a sea view. This place is very well maintained. The house is a smart house, everything is white and new. We were warmly welcomed by the Owners. The staff was extremely friendly. The home-cooked food was yummy (fresh local seafood). The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the ambience

QQiuqiuwangBasically every room has an infinity pool, but unfortunately we couldn't swim due to the heavy fog. The room is clean, tidy and has a good a**osphere. The hotel has a small courtyard that leads directly to the beach, perfect!
The hotel is run by young people, enthusiastic and energetic, and the children who live there are very nice. They took us to check in at the first fluorescent sea in 2024.
Except for not seeing the sunrise and sunset in the foggy weather, everything else is good. There are really few tourists now.
The hotel has no breakfast, only drinks. Fortunately, it is very close to the main street of life. You can try the nearby breakfast shops. The prices on the island are about 1.5-2 times that of Shanghai!
The island is under development and renovation recently, and it is expected to be completed in early June.

GGuest UserThe boat back to Shanghai was canceled, so we had to stay overnight. The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from the pier, new, clean, and well-maintained.
Check-in was quick and efficient. While the staff were not fully familiar with foreign guest registration, they handled it professionally and made an effort to resolve everything smoothly. We booked two rooms, both spacious and well-equipped. Service was responsive, extra towels and slippers arrived almost immediately after we requested them.
Breakfast exceeded expectations, mostly Chinese options, with decent coffee.
Overall, a very solid choice for a spontaneous overnight stay.
