The air was humid, the plants were green, and the lake was often shrouded in a light haze, giving it a distinct spring江南 (Jiangnan) charm. The hotel is on Wenxin Island, an independent island in the middle of the lake, surrounded by water on all sides. You park your car at the pier and take a shuttle bus to the island. I was immediately struck by the scenery upon arrival: a 270° lake view, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a spacious balcony. The sunset in the evening painted the lake in shades of orange and pink. There's no need to jostle with crowds at scenic spots; you can capture stunning photos right from the hotel terrace. Qiandao Lake Yuyan exceeded my expectations! The environment is simply stunning. The infinity pool on the cliff overlooks Qiandao Lake, and on a rainy day, with the mist swirling, it felt like living in a painting. The room was clean, bright, and the views were absolutely incredible. The butler service was exceptionally thoughtful; everything was perfectly arranged from check-in to check-out, so I didn't have to worry about a thing. I spent a relaxing two days here over the weekend and completely recharged. I'll definitely be back!

The cleanliness of the room was commendable, with soft linens and a dry, well-maintained bathroom. The service team was highly professional; every step, from check-in guidance to a farewell greeting at check-out, was smooth and welcoming. This will definitely be my first choice again when I return to the area.

First off, the hotel room was very clean, and the bed was huge, 1.35*2 meters. It could be combined, perfect for two adults and two children! The King Koil mattress made for a wonderfully comfortable sleep. The hotel environment is excellent, offering lake views and featuring a large lawn, an outdoor pool, and a super-sized indoor kids' play area. There are also many parent-child activities, like making traditional Chinese medicine sachets and baking bread in a kiln, which were fantastic! Even on a rainy day, we weren't bored staying at the hotel. The front desk staff were also incredibly helpful; knowing we had a baby, they provided a bed rail and upgraded us to a lake-view room. The breakfast was plentiful, and both my older and younger kids loved it. The hotel is very close to the Southeast Lake Scenic Area, the Botanical Garden, Tianyu Mountain, and Lan Yue Secret Realm, which is super convenient! The only slight drawback is that the on-site Chinese lunch and dinner could be a little bit better.

We took our child to Qiandao Lake, and initially booked the Fairfield. To our surprise, it had issues with safety and hygiene. We reluctantly stayed one night and then decisively checked out early. We then found the Novotel, and as soon as we entered the lobby, it felt much better. It was spacious and clean, and Xiaoxiong, who checked us in, had an incredibly good attitude. The room also felt great. Xiaoxiong modestly said our room didn't have a lake view, but it actually did! Our child needed to do summer homework and check in afterward, so we asked Xiaoxiong for a chair and a lamp. She brought them very quickly. She proactively and patiently answered any questions we had – thank you! The Novotel's pool also deserves high praise. It's large and very well-maintained, clean and free of debris. The water depth is 1.5m, which is a bit deep for children, so kids who can't swim can go to the 0.5m splash area downstairs. The kids' club is also bigger than expected. Even if it rains and you can't go out, kids can play there for an hour or two and won't get bored at all. If I had to pick a flaw, it might be that the breakfast could be slightly more abundant. However, for this value for money, we really can't ask for more! (Avoid Fairfield Qiandao Lake! Influencer recommendations really aren't reliable, absolutely don't go! Unless you don't mind dirty toilets and bath mats; or your child falling off the bed in the middle of the night because the bed and frame aren't secure and slide around; or your rhinitis acting up because the pillows smell bad!)

I have always wanted to experience the beauty of Qiandao Lake. It was my birthday so I rewarded myself with a trip to Qiandao Lake. For such a leisurely vacation, the choice of homestay is so important! Yungu Songjian Homestay was planted as soon as I saw its pictures. It is surrounded by mountains and has a white two-story building. It has a unique atmosphere even on rainy days. It also has a large swimming pool. It is also very good for taking photos at night. The afternoon tea is exquisite and delicious. They can also provide full meals. They are all authentic specialties. They are delicious and tasty. The staff of the homestay are very enthusiastic. They will take the initiative to ask about your needs and everything is arranged properly! You can feel the kindness and warmth. This really gave me a great experience of the trip to Qiandao Lake!

I originally booked for late April, but it got pushed to early May. On the last day of the holiday, most people had left, so the resort was very quiet. They upgraded me to a lake-view room, which offered beautiful scenery. There was also a WeChat butler service – a big shout-out to Yu Duoduo! She fulfilled all my requests and responded very promptly. I didn't have high expectations initially, but Thousand Island Lake, with its cascading green hills, truly lives up to its reputation for beauty. It was already quite sunny in early May, and I ended up not visiting any of the planned attractions, choosing to just stay at the hotel. Luckily, there was a zoo and a swimming pool, and the grounds were quite spacious. There were several swallows' nests under the balcony eaves, and the staff even covered them with foam, worried they might fall – truly kind-hearted people. The only minor drawback was the limited breakfast options, but that's a small detail; overall, it was still excellent.

The hotel's location is indeed quite remote, 50 km from the high-speed train station. It's really only suitable for guests who plan to stay within the resort and not venture out. I had great experiences with other Club Meds before, so I visited the Nanjing and Qiandao Lake ones during the summer. I came to this one with tempered expectations, knowing it wouldn't be as good as the traditional villages. However, it's even worse than the Xianlin Club Med in Nanjing. The service is the absolute worst; no one was enthusiastic or welcoming. The buffet was unappetizing, and the 'Yi Bar' drinks were also bad. I truly regret booking an all-inclusive package – it was not worth it! It should just be treated as a regular hotel. If you're not going to participate in Club Med's extensive activities and interact with the G.O.s, there's no point in coming to such a remote Club Med! There are plenty of 5-star hotels in towns. I booked two rooms and specifically requested them to be adjacent to my parents' room, but they ended up being several doors apart, which was fine. However, one room wasn't ready until 4 PM, and then at checkout, they wouldn't even allow one room a late checkout, claiming it was fully booked. It was a Monday, what 'fully booked' are they talking about? I think it's more likely that there weren't enough housekeeping staff, so they couldn't get things ready in time! The room's cleanliness was mediocre, and there were flies at the buffet. Breakfast items were also refilled very slowly. Most importantly, the evening activities were very lackluster. The G.O.s showed no enthusiasm, there was no atmosphere; they just seemed to be going through the motions. There wasn't even a participation show for the children. Overall, I'm very disappointed with this Qiandao Lake Club Med. It's terrible. I didn't experience the Club Med hotel culture or philosophy at all. I do not recommend staying here.

I brought my kids here for a summer vacation, and a water park is definitely a top choice for most families. As a long-standing five-star hotel, I had high expectations when I booked Sheraton. Overall, the stay was decent, but I definitely won't be coming back next time. The main reason is the service, which was truly infuriating. We went out for dinner on the evening of the 23rd, and when we returned around 9 PM, all our room cards had stopped working. I immediately called the front desk, and they showed no apology at all, just coldly told us to wait in front of the room. Then, a little later, they told us to wait in the lobby on the second floor, saying an attendant would bring the cards right over. We waited for 20 minutes, and no attendant showed up. Eventually, my husband had to go to the front desk himself to get the room cards. We were staying in Villa A, Building 7, which is the furthest building from the hotel front desk. The key thing is that the front desk showed no apology whatsoever during the entire phone call, and their tone was ice-cold. And the problem wasn't even resolved; we had to go get the cards ourselves because we couldn't wait any longer. Speechless. Later, the children's slippers the attendant brought had a visibly large piece of paper or something else in the plastic bag. How can they give that to guests? We didn't even open them and just left them in the room. If this were a regular budget hotel, I wouldn't write such a long complaint. This Sheraton is just so disappointing.
