"It’s a chilly season, but the welcome was so warm! Really enjoyed the excellent, attentive service。 Plentiful hot water, quiet rooms, we got an upgrade ☺️ and the breakfast options are varied and suit most tastes.
Do remember to bring a warm layer to breakfast as they often open the patio doors and it gets drafty, and organize your translation, food delivery, and DiDi apps and eSIM - wifi is unstable and the ******* applet on Alipay was unusable.
Thankfully the location is great, walkable to the InTime mall and many local food spots and fruit shops. And the views are wonderful - weekend evenings have the downtown buildings light up in displays that beautifully reflect on the lake.
The foreigner husband gives it a 4/5, and recommends the hotel to add a fresh-cooked egg/omelet station and to make sure hot food stays hot (the warming pans were usually not on)."

ZZhuigexiaofengerThis is a stunning guesthouse, nestled amidst the breathtaking scenery of Qiandao Lake. And it truly is a picturesque lakeside retreat! I discovered that due to an extended bay, when the wind blows, two sections of water merge, creating two shimmering reflections on the surface, a serene and beautiful scene. The courtyard is spacious and well-designed; the owners clearly put a lot of thought into it, perhaps not just to attract tourists, but also to please themselves, as everything is incredibly comfortable. I spent two nights relaxing on a poolside lounge chair, gazing at the stars, enjoying the cool evening breeze – pure bliss. Dinner tasted like home cooking, with carefully selected ingredients and methods. The nearby rafting is fantastic; the owner's wife gave me an unbeatable tip – the water ladle is definitely the best weapon! 😂 I'm already looking forward to bringing my family back!

BBell YYI'm so glad I chose the Intercontinental Qiandao Lake, Shilin for this stay. Our two-day hotel trip perfectly met the vacation needs of my entire family, from the youngest to the oldest.
The hotel's location and environment are superb. Although it's a bit far from the high-speed rail station, its exclusive spot on the Xianshan Peninsula allowed us to avoid the holiday crowds and enjoy a quiet vacation. We ate all our meals at the hotel for two consecutive days. The Chinese restaurant's flavors were unexpectedly delicious, and the breakfast quality at the all-day Western restaurant was also very high. Ordering noodles and coffee by scanning a QR code was a very thoughtful touch. During our meals, staff members even came to ask about our dining experience and handed out small gifts, making for a great interactive experience.
The hotel offers a rich schedule of activities throughout the day, including hiking, sound therapy, and lake tours, so there's never a dull moment. Our butler, Jolie, provided attentive and thoughtful service. She patiently answered all our questions and requests, making it the best service I've ever received at a hotel. Finally, I've included a few photos taken at the hotel to show just how wonderful the environment is.

Room 2 in Building 2, a central lake view room, offered an expansive view and pure scenic beauty. 🌤️ Qingming Weather and First Impressions: Intermittent Sun and Rain on the Lake
My trip to Thousand Island Lake during Qingming was perfectly timed with the weather – warm and sunny during the day (12-25℃), slightly cool in the mornings and evenings, with occasional mist and light rain. The air was humid, the plants were green, and the lake was often shrouded in a light haze, giving it a distinct spring江南 (Jiangnan) charm.
The hotel is on Wenxin Island, an independent island in the middle of the lake, surrounded by water on all sides. You park your car at the pier and take a shuttle bus to the island. I was immediately struck by the scenery upon arrival: a 270° lake view, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a spacious balcony. The sunset in the evening painted the lake in shades of orange and pink. There's no need to jostle with crowds at scenic spots; you can capture stunning photos right from the hotel terrace. The art-style lobby, old movie theme, spiral staircase, and art installations create a strong ambiance and are very photogenic.
🛏️ Rooms and Hardware: Views are Top-Notch, Facilities are a Bit Old
• Pros: The room was spacious, the bedding was soft, and there was a large bathtub on the balcony. Opening the window revealed the lake, and on rainy days, snuggling in the room to watch the misty Thousand Island Lake was peaceful and therapeutic. The service attitude was good, the shuttle bus was available on call, and basic requests were quickly addressed.
• Cons:
1. Facilities are noticeably old: The decor, furniture, door locks, bathroom fixtures, and TV all show their age. There are clear signs of wear and tear, and some details look quite dated.
2. Heavy dampness: Being on an island and with frequent rain during Qingming, the room, hallway, and carpet all had a musty smell. Clothes didn't dry, and the duvet felt a bit damp to the touch.
3. Gym is practically useless: The space is small, the equipment is severely aged, chipped, and makes loud noises, making it virtually impossible to get a proper workout.
💰 Price Complaint: Severe Holiday Surcharge
The Qingming holiday surcharge was outrageously high, nearly 500 RMB more per night than on weekdays. The price doesn't match the hardware, and the value for money plummets. Recent reviews over the past month also frequently complain about the steep price hikes on weekends/holidays, suggesting that only off-peak prices are reasonable.
🍽️ Dining and Surroundings
Breakfast was decent and filling. The Thousand Island Lake fish head and river shrimp at the lakeside restaurant were fresh. There's a Neverland Cafe on the island, offering a great ambiance for lakeside afternoon tea, but the prices are on the higher side. Once on the island, it's inconvenient to go out, so activities are mostly confined to the hotel.

GGuest UserThe room was spacious and grand, decorated in a Chinese-style, understated luxury that I really liked. The view outside the window was pleasant, and the lake view during an evening stroll was absolutely stunning. I was pleasantly surprised to see black kites (eagles) circling over the lake. The staff were both patient and attentive; knowing we needed an extra bed, they even upgraded us to a larger room. The food at the Chinese restaurant was also delicious, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced seasoning. We stayed for two nights and ate there twice: the Qiandao Lake organic fish head lived up to its reputation, and the tomato beef brisket was surprisingly good, with the stir-fried seasonal vegetables also being up to par. I've even specifically recommended this hotel and restaurant to my relatives. The service, scenery, facilities, and cuisine were all very satisfying – excellent value for money!
Tips for other guests: If you plan to order the fish head, you can ask the front desk for a fish voucher beforehand to get an 80 yuan discount. If you have long hair, you might want to bring your own hairdryer that doesn't require constant pressing.

The room was clean and tidy, and the mountain view outside the window was lush and green. It's the perfect peaceful retreat for introverts. I checked in early and spent the afternoon reading in my room. The sunlight fell perfectly on my face and my book; it was warm and so comfortable. When I got tired of reading, I went downstairs for a stroll. The weather was perfect today; the lake was exceptionally blue, the same color as the sky, so beautiful I couldn't tear my eyes away. The guesthouse had two dogs, one quiet and one lively, following me around – they were really entertaining. I'll definitely be back to this guesthouse!

The independent European-style manor is nestled amidst mountains and water, in a remarkably tranquil environment. Stepping inside felt like entering a private estate, incredibly relaxing and comfortable.
The balcony outside the room was exceptionally spacious, with lush green lawns and crystal-clear lake water right outside the door. The distant mountains reflected in the lake, offering a breathtaking and soothing view. In the evening, the sunset painted the sky and lake with warm hues, a beauty that was impossible to look away from. I even witnessed someone setting up for a wedding photoshoot on the lawn – the atmosphere was incredibly romantic.
Breakfast was thoughtfully delivered to my room, and I simply carried my meal to the balcony, enjoying it leisurely amidst the stunning lake and mountain views. Even the breeze carried a sense of tranquility.
From the hotel's elegant and grand exterior to the breathtaking lake and mountain scenery, everything was incredibly soothing. The overall experience was fantastic, and it's the kind of vacation I'd definitely want to return to!

GGuest UserCame here for a relaxing Mid-Autumn Festival break, and overall, my experience was excellent. The view from the Xiushui room was truly stunning, offering a wide, expansive vista. The room itself was very spacious. I spent a whole day in there, just listening to music and relaxing – it was incredibly comfortable. Downstairs, the hotel has a pool, a gym, and billiards for recreation. In the evening, there was a barbecue. Enjoying the breeze and some grilled food was a real pleasure.

You can tell that even though it's an old hotel, it's making an effort to update and keep up with modern aesthetics! The kids absolutely loved the hotel pool, so we extended our stay for another night. The only minor downside was that there weren't many animals, which might be due to the hot weather. We hope you keep improving; we'll be back to 'inspect' you next holiday! Hehe~
**Ambiance:** Beautiful lake view, and there's a shuttle service to the island. It's about a 20-minute drive to Intime City in the downtown area. Getting to the pier for boat trips is also within a 20-minute drive.
