"I can’t believe this price can get this great hotel! The room is pretty big! I guess can put 2-3 king size beds. Clean, new, bright as the booking page showing. There are free drink machines offering coffees & beverages, staffs are friendly. The only shortage is the location, kind of far to the main Hollywood etc, but if you have a car that won’t have a problem"

"The room is well-equipped and clean. Parking is convenient and free. The circuits of the internal facilities are too old, the switches and hair dryers are broken. The sound insulation of the room is very poor. The person living next door stayed up all night and was talking on the phone. Can hear clearly"

YYC008Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars; First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review. The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-) Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance. 1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process. 2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance. Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

JJohnny B GoodThis hotel is not convenient from the airport. There is no shuttle bus from the airport. We saw a fake review that said there is a shuttle bus. it's so bad! Ctrip should not allow such a review!! When we realised that there is no shuttle bus from the airport, we called an Uber from the airport to go to the hotel. Each way the Uber cost 46 dollars (without tip). Even though the hotel is not very far from the airport. We don't know why it's so expensive. So we paid 100 dollars just to from and to the airport. We are not happy about it :( So don't stay at this hotel if you are going from the airport. Don't make the same mistake we did and waste your money.

ZZoeVHOur experience at this hotel was extremely mixed. I’ll list the good points first, and then mention issues we had, as they were quite significant. Pros: The location was great, close to the airport (about a 12 minute drive) and also right next to a huge mall with a Target and many restaurants, several grocery stories, Starbucks, etc. Super convenient for flying in/out of LAX and also getting around various locations in LA. The aesthetics of the lobby are generally nice and it seems like it’s been renovated recently. There’s also free (and delicious) chocolate chip cookies in the lobby around 5:30 each evening. The front desk staff are generally helpful and responsive. Finally, to the cons: Most of our gripes are related to the hotel’s housekeeping service. The housekeeping service at this hotel was the worst I have ever experienced. We constantly had to call and ask for basic necessities the weren’t replenished: no wash clothes or hand towels, no bedding for the couch bed, several times they failed to take the very full trash out, etc. Worst perhaps of all was how they never changed the paper, ice biner, or glass cups in the room. We used the glasses on the first night of our stay, the next day they took one of the dirty glasses and left the other, never giving us cleans ones or taking the dirty glass for the entirety of our 5 day stay (see photo). They also didn’t replenish the paper coffee cups. At the end of our stay we shared our dissatisfaction with the front desk manager over the poor housekeeping services and she was very understanding and apologetic and there was any way she could make it up to us, which was very appreciated.

MM348278****Overall, it's a great hotel with excellent value for money. Many Chinese travelers visiting California choose to stay here. It's conveniently located with public transportation (metro) nearby, and there's a strong Chinese community in the area. The breakfast no longer offers Chinese dishes, but parking is free.

CChaokeaidexiaofeiziWe stayed at this hotel for a total of three nights. It's very close to the airport and convenient for reaching the car rental center. Dining and getting gas were both very convenient. There's a large, free parking lot. The front desk service was excellent. The buffet restaurant is also quite spacious, though hotel breakfasts in this region are generally like this: no vegetables and cold milk. Hot water and coffee are available, however. Outside the lobby, there's a small, beautiful courtyard – a pleasant spot to relax for a bit. A gym is also located nearby. The only minor downside is that the room was quite small, feeling a bit cramped. However, it was well-equipped and very clean.

GGuest UserThe location was very convenient and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Free shuttle from and to the airport. Water station next to the lobby to refill water bottles. Nice outside pool in the third floor. Rooms were not too cramped. Restaurant and bar in the ground floor. Not much else around the hotel walking distance other than a few gas stations, car rentals, and a starbucks.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very good overall, very new, the facilities, bedding and toiletries are of good quality, I like the smell of shower gel and body lotion. When you check in, you will also be given a free glass of wine or beer from the roof bar, which is good! Breakfast is a la carte, the price is a bit expensive, but the taste is good and the quantity is sufficient. I will stay here again!

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is great. Just downstairs is the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Across the street is Madame Tussauds and the Chinese Theatre. The guy who did the valet parking and carried the luggage was very enthusiastic, and the front desk also introduced the hotel facilities in detail. The outdoor swimming pool is very lively. The weather in LA in early October is very comfortable. Many people are sunbathing. I recommend the ice cream at the pool bar, which is huge. The suite room is large and retro. The sofa in the living room makes you forget to get up when you sit down. The bed in the bedroom is also very comfortable. The only drawback is that the suite room faces the street and it is a bit noisy from passing cars, but you can enjoy the bustling Avenue of Stars through the window.
