Mercure Hotels in Sydney

The location is super convenient, very close to the beach and Darling Harbour. The surrounding area is great for exploring too. I was on a business trip though, and my schedule was packed, so I didn't have time to go out and sightsee, which is a bit of a shame. If you're coming for a vacation, I highly recommend it.

The hotel lobby is newly renovated, but once you get to the room hallway and the room itself, there's an old, musty carpet smell. The facilities are dated. There's a backyard, and parking costs $16 a day. It's right next to Macquarie University Hospital, so quite a few elderly guests stay here. It's not far from the shopping centre.

New name is now Mercure Hotel. Bus stop is across the hotel and just a few stops away to the Metro and Trains. A bit dated bathroom, our shower drains super slowly. Very spacious room though. Cafe on the ground floor also served good food and was convenient.

Booked this hotel based on its high review rating, but was disappointed. If you are from the Uk, I’d compared this hotel to a Travelodge. Basic facilities, bathroom felt a bit grubby, crumbs etc on the sofa in the room, and the room smelled a bit musty. The staff were all very pleasant, laundry room is available, and while it feels like it’s in an industrial estate, the bus stops just outside to travel elsewhere, and it’s around a 30 minute walk to the very nice Curl Curl beach. Great if you want a quick stop off for a night or two, or don’t plan on spending long at the hotel - but wasn’t really what I was hoping for.

The front desk staff were great 👍, but the room was dusty, which was really uncomfortable. The female Chinese staff member coming out of the restaurant was incredibly rude and unfriendly. I encountered her when I went to pick up water on the M floor in the evening.

Beautiful hotel with a lot things to do. Like : Bar, bingo for elderly , big TV for watching sports, a lot of restaurants and cafe to choose, playground and arcade too and much more…Love all the restaurants there. Foods, sweets treat very yummy. My kids love it so much. Each restaurant have their own beautiful design. Amazing forest decorations, it also have Koi fish which make my kids want to check the fish all the time when we stay. Staffs are nice and room is clean. Highly recommend for family

Good stay but aging hotel. Well located next to Panthers Rugby and restaurants, with a convenient back door if you can find it.

The staff is helpful and courteous. I was provided early check-in at 1:00 pm. The room was clean, pretty decent size with a small fridge, microwave and complicated tea and instant coffee. The breakfast at the restaurant is not elaborate but alright for a decent breakfast. Check-in and check-out are quick and easy. The location is away from Central Sydney but T1 train line connect Blacktown to Central Sydney and takes around 33 minutes.

The room was clean, and the location was very convenient. It's only about a 15-minute walk to Ruse Hill subway station, and there's an Aldi supermarket a 5-minute walk away, with many restaurants nearby. Additionally, there's a Coles supermarket and other restaurants next to Ruse Hill subway station. It's a very convenient location. If you're going to other places, there are also many bus routes near Ruse Hill subway station. Please note that the hotel does not provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers; you will need to bring your own.

Our 3rd stay arrived late evening, welcomed by friendly gentleman at reception, checked in easy no problem. Had problem with TV not working, reception Jo offered room change, but we said no, she gave us later checkout the next day, which we were very grateful for. Donna housekeeping very friendly gave us extra amenities. Excellent location, the club is awesome took our granddaughter to play at the playground she loved the space to run around in.
