Sydney Hotels with Breakfast

We had a wonderful stay at Capella Sydney. Our sincere thanks to Rebecca Chan and Kelly Huang for thoughtfully arranging our rooms and making our family feel so warmly welcomed. We would also like to thank Monica Cisneros for the delicious macarons—they were a lovely and thoughtful surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and the hotel’s elegant interior, which beautifully combines classic heritage character with refined modern design. Every detail made the stay feel calm, comfortable, and special. Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable experience. Capella Sydney will definitely be our first choice whenever we have the opportunity to return to Sydney.

Setting: Located in a central area of Sydney, not far from public transportation and amenities, it feels more like a 4-star hotel than a boutique 5-star. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds; bottled water is provided as well as coffee and tea, but the cleanliness of some more hidden areas (wardrobe or behind the bed) is somewhat below standard. Water pressure for the shower is ridiculously weak. We paid a discounted price to stay here and are overall happy, but it would not be worth the full price.

Overall, the hotel was very spacious and in a nice, convenient location. Metro was across the road, Macq shopping centre was only a 15 minute walk, and they had their own cafe that is open on weekends too. However, I was highly disappointed with their service. Their staff were not very friendly. No smiles, and I even felt judged by one of the ladies when I checked out. Of the 5 or so staff that I encountered, I only got one smile. I think they could do with some customer service training. The shower gel in the shower was also completely empty and the requests I asked for was completely ignored, but I get that they’re requested and not going to always be fulfilled. The casting for the TV had some issues, but didn’t matter to us. Aside from those though, when we did ask for things to be done, they were able to follow instructions. We would stay again if there was a discount.

I stayed here for 8 nights, it was pretty comfy! The shared kitchen is huge and they clean it every day, so it always felt neat and usable. The toilets are super clean too, which was a big plus for me. The location is super convenient. There’s a light tram and a bus station literally right in front, so getting around was really easy. The only thing that got to me was the doors – they don’t have soft-close. So if people keep going in and out of their rooms, you’ll hear the doors bang. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs!

Extremely satisfied with this business trip. It was very convenient to walk to the conference center from the hotel, and even on a rainy day, it was manageable without an umbrella. There are many dining options behind the hotel, and Town Hall is about a ten-minute walk away. The hotel is relatively new, which perfectly suits my principle of choosing newer accommodations over older ones.

The location is very convenient, and the view is excellent. Overall, the stay was fantastic. The room was clean and tidy, and the facilities were well-maintained. The front desk service was enthusiastic and efficient, making check-in and check-out quick. The geographical location is superior, making travel convenient, and the bedding was very comfortable to sleep in. I would choose to stay here again next time, highly recommended! It was a very good stay. The rooms were quiet and clean, and the staff were polite and friendly. The facilities were comprehensive, and the value for money was great. Everything exceeded expectations, highly recommended.

I thought this hotel was great! Friendly staff at check in, the bar and cleaning staff. Rooms were comfy with appropriate amenities for this class of hotel and price point. Breakfast was repetitive, but the taste was good. Our bed was 2 singles pushed together which I think the hotel should think about changing as it was clear when you fell into the crevice between them. Didn’t use the pool or gym because of the weather, but would. Easy access to metro, Oxford Street and other downtown areas.

I don’t usually go out of my way to give hotel reviews. Postive or negative. However I must for this hotel. I was recommended this hotel by someone I am having a meeting with in the area. It was shockingly expensive, but I figured it would be worth it due to location and it was recommended by my contact. I don’t always stay in 5star, but when staying in 5star, and super expensive, I absolutely expect 5star service. 1. Having being dropped off at the hotel there was zero bell boy to help with my luggage. I did all myself. After going inside the hotel I was asked if I would like help with my bags, but replied I already had them… again I already go it myself. 2. At every single hotel I stay in the world it’s common when you ask at reception, how is my room, do I have a good view or location they check and my change it a little for better location or room type if they have vacancies. I was replied to by the girl in reception in a somewhat arrogant manner, sir you have the standard room… with zero intent to look to see if there was better option. In countless years and counties I’ve never had this response. At lease some carding or trying, even if they were full but not just arrogant cold “you have standard”. 3. The sauna advertised is NOT free. It’s paid extra and you need to book. Why would a hotel advertise sauna when it’s an additional cost. In addition it closes at 7:30pm. In all my years I’ve never been to a hotel where it closes so early. How can one have meetings and get back to have a sauna in time. When I complained about this also I was met with coke arrogant smiles. 4. The last day on check out in morning there was no body at the front desk. Zero. Very strange. Never have I been in a hotel there was no body in reception. Even more so strange for such an expensive hotel. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I would in fact go, and have done put my way to NOT recommend. Not even a 1 star. For the price this is ridiculously over priced. The arrive is a lousy 1 star budge hotel. In fact a 1 star would have friendlier and better authentic service. On one positive note. The gym is amazing. The gym is a 5star as it’s not a “hotel gym” but a membership gym part of hotel. My overall rating therefore is a 2 star for the gym alone. Hotel for the price they charge and the well below average service zero!

The location is not bad for getting around by train, especially since it's halfway between Central and Town Hall, and you can take a tram. All the staff are friendly. I booked breakfast for two even though I was traveling alone because there wasn't a single-person option. It was clean and good, but the menu rarely changed, so I felt it was a bit overpriced. There was a washing machine on the 3rd floor, but I couldn't find a dryer, which was a shame (though I might have just missed it). It was also disappointing that I couldn't open the windows in clean-aired Sydney. Nevertheless, for expensive Sydney, I think I booked a good quality hotel at a relatively affordable price. If I go again, I'd be willing to stay here. I hope the areas for improvement can be addressed!

Beautiful hotel to visit in the city and staffs are very kind and nice. Very short distance to Barangaroo reserve, perfect place to stroll after dinner.
