"I had a great stay at this hotel. Although the property is a bit old, everything was very clean and the service was excellent. The room was spacious, and I could see a beautiful sunset right from the window. The location is also very convenient, it’s easy to get anywhere from here. There’s even a night market just downstairs with lots of famous local food stalls. Overall, a very pleasant experience!"

"honest review from a budget conscious traveller: no frills hotel in superb location with helpful staff at a reasonable price point. I stayed in a magenta room for 4 nights with no big issues. the room is not big for 2 persons, but sufficient for rest every night, and to open 2 cabin sized lugagge comfortably. the toilet is spacious enough as well. cleanliness could be improved. the shower area could do with deeper cleaning in the corners, and the sheets some tiny stains (negligible though). the sofa also has some stains. if you are particular about cleanliness, perhaps looks elsewhere. the bed is reasonably comfortable, pillows are on the softer side. there is one bedside table with the telephone on it, and another small table that can be used at the sofa or at the bed. if you want more spacious table, the lobby has many tables you can use. windowsill seats are also available with charging outlets, making for a good workspace if you need. toiletries were refilled everyday, as basic as amenities go. the towels were on the thinner side and there were no hand towels so take note, if you want to bring a small disposable one for your stay. hotel staff was easy to talk to and ready to help whenever I asked. one time, I ordered grabfood in a hurry and forgot to ask for cutlery. thankfully, the front desk staff found some disposable spoons for me. genuine lifesaver. however, on one of the days, we wanted to rest in the afternoon and asked for our room to be cleaned earlier. the hotel seems to be understaffed and cleaning takes some time. we called at 3pm and was told the staff will come clean our room. there was no sign of anyone even until 4pm, at which point we called in again to remind them of our request. it took 30 more minutes and 2 more reminders, one of which was in person at the front desk, before the cleaning lady showed up around 430pm (after 4 calls). at this point, we were going out shortly after, and we felt robbed of afternoon rest. take note of this if you will be bothered by the cleaning time. we did come back on one day to see the cleaning staff in our aisle close to 6pm! it is likely they are understaffed. we also did not get an extra toilet roll on the last day, which was unnecessary effort to ensure we would have sufficient toilet paper until checkout, since we were exhausted from a day of exploring and did not want to go and ask for toilet paper. this incident aside, we had an alright stay and would recommend this place to budget conscious travellers who are looking for a value stay. the location is really unbeatable, being walking distance to most places under 15minutes. with so much food to eat in penang, a post meal walk back to the hotel is always welcome other notes: there is a self service laundry just next to the hotel, and a 24h convenience store just across the street. 7 eleven is around 5min walk away. atm that accepts internationals cards are available if you want to withdraw money, but these do charge a fee. fee free atm would be farther away. the hotel is also next to a mosque so we can hear prayers now and then, and early on Friday."

"The hotel looks a little old, but everything is really well maintained and clean. The facilities are great, especially the gym. It’s fully equipped with dumbbells, barbells and all kinds of machines for different workouts. There’s also a sauna, steam room and hot and cold jacuzzis, all in good working condition. The location is perfect, right along Gurney Drive. Get a sea view room if you can because the view is amazing whether it’s sunrise or sunset. It’s also super convenient with Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon just a short walk away, and plenty of food options nearby. Taking a Grab to town takes only about 10 minutes. Breakfast was really good too. There’s a wide mix of local and international dishes that change daily, plus an egg and roti canai station where you can order fresh. Service was okay, though the staff weren’t as warm as I expected from a five star hotel. Overall, it was a comfortable stay in a great location with solid facilities and food."

"Highly recommended — I had a very comfortable stay here. Although the room is on the smaller side, the interior design is of high quality and thoughtfully done. As for the lift parking, while it’s slightly inconvenient, the wait time is short and overall it’s quite manageable."

"Fast check in process by Mr Saran. Easy parking access (no need to take any parking ticket. Receptionist will register your car plate number and you can enter and out from parking lot how many time you want). Requested birthday decorations and im so happy when i saw the decoration. It was so amazing! And we get small cake too! Thanks St Giles Wembley Penang for this hospitality! Booked Premier King room. I was impressed by the cleanliness and comfort room. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable just the pillow is a bit hard for me. Nice view from the room. Quiet room. Breakfast 9/10. Many varieties of food. Delicious! Especially the taufufa. I repeat 3 times 😊. Gym is pretty nice and had adequate equipment. Pool view is Komtar 💜 Great location. Walking distance to 1st Avenue Mall, and most places. Hope this hotel will maintain the services, and cleanliness for long time. Will certainly return to St Giles Wembley Hotel on my next visit to Penang."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Batu Ferringhi I booked my stay through Trip.com and the whole experience was effortless. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff member who attended to me was genuinely warm and accommodating. I was also given a late checkout, which made my stay even more relaxing. One thing I really enjoyed was the welcome cookie. It’s such a nice and thoughtful touch, especially when welcome drinks have become quite boring and predictable. The cookie felt unique and memorable. The lobby is spacious and inviting, with a beautiful view that immediately puts you in a good mood. My room was clean, comfortable and beautifully designed. Not long after I settled in, the hotel called to check if I needed anything. When I requested a toothbrush, they sent it up very quickly. The service throughout my stay felt attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast was excellent. There were plenty of choices and the staff were always nearby to help. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The gym is nice, well maintained and has a great view. The pool area is spacious, relaxing and perfect for winding down. Overall, I had a truly pleasant stay at DoubleTree Hilton Batu Ferringhi. "The hotel is located about 10–15 minutes away from the town. The surrounding area is rather quiet, with no eateries nearby, but there’s a cozy café at the lobby. Check-in was smooth and efficient, each guest even received a drink voucher, which can be redeemed for coffee, tea, or orange juice. The room itself is very spacious and comfortable. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The shower area doesn’t have a door, so water tends to splash outside. The bathroom drainage is slightly clogged, and the bathroom door cannot be fully closed, which may feel a bit awkward if staying with friends. Lastly, the bed sheet had an unpleasant smell, which was quite disappointing. Overall, the stay was consider ok in terms of space and service, but cleanliness and bathroom maintenance could be better."
