InDa Hotel ★★★
"Loved my stay at Inda! It’s surrounded by greenery with a magical, relaxing vibe. The rooms were clean, the in-house cafe served amazing food, and it’s just a short walk to the beach and Varkala cliff. Perfect spot to unwind!"

Deshadan Cliff & Beach Resort,Varkala ★★★
"After a busy business year end ,stay at deshadan was truly rejuvenating...it my 5 stay at deshadan and they don't disappoint you in any way.."
Grand Residency & Resort ★★
"I had a wonderful stay at Grand Residency Resort Hotel in Varkala. The hotel manager was exceptional—always helpful and went out of his way to ensure a great experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was a highlight, with a fantastic selection of delicious options. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Varkala!"
Aloha Homestay ★★
"The room was spacious, well kept with ample furnitures, neat and clean. Quiet ambience, walkable distance to the beach, highle reccomenable to couples."
Ashiyana Cliff & Beach Resort by Onespace ★★★
"Had a beautiful stay here for three nights in Varkala. I wish we could have stayed longer. Rooms tidy and clean with a wood furniture vibe and a small porch / verandah outside. Air con and fan, kettle and a small fridge. The rest of the space is just beautiful. Outside the rooms is full of plants and light. Upstairs there is a beautiful French / South Indian fusion cafe, and a large, light space for yoga, dance etc and a small gym area (kettle bells, bench, dumb bells, bands, boxes, various other bits and pieces). There is also a small treatment room for massage and Ayurveda treatments. I did a yoga class with Rajan which was absolutely wonderful - only three of us in the class, for 1.5 hours+ and he was very attentive. I’ve never felt so relaxed in my life. Then I had 30 mins reflexology with Dr. Ajitha which was also wonderful. Breakfast was included in the room - I had the Indian breakfast which was two nicely cooked dosa, 2 eggs (cooked how you like), a spiced sauce and coffee - all was delicious. My partner had the regular breakfast which was toast (a bit brioche like), with butter and jam, two eggs and a fresh juice. We also ordered extra coffee and juices which were delicious - the fresh coconut milkshake was amazing. Beach is a 5 min walk. We also had an eagle visible from our room. All Varkala shops, restaurant, yoga places etc easy walking distance. We swam in the sea every day. Wonderful place to stay. Service great too."
Happy Buddha S4 ★★★
"Excellent all round. Super clean. Nice spacious environment. Very helpful staff. Great bylines in the hotel. The owner Rosh will give you time and great advice on the area. Close to all the local beaches., yet nice and quiet You won’t regret booking here."
Villa Varkala ★★
"Absolutely pathetic place no room service available ,no towels ,no extra mattress available ,no drinking water ,the force you to pay extra or threaten to throw your luggage outside . The were no blankets ,the bathroom lock is broken and they have kept local goons to get guests to pay extra . The owner lives in foreign and has zero manners they don’t know how to provide basic amenities and only know how to loot people . Would rather stay at a railway station than here again ."
MAD about Coco Yoga & Beach Retreat ★★★
"Great Place and so close to the beach Rooms clean and tidy and have AC Breakfast, Luch and Dinner can be had at their restaurant Sun Funsisco The food was very good Staff very friendly and accommodating The Beach is 5 minutes walk down the steps."

Sajjoys
"What can we say to add to the last review: it is everything mentioned there, and more. I think the word “charm” sums up Sajjoys perfectly from the decor and size of the hotel to the team who helped to make us so welcome and feel at home - the perfect blend of efficiency and friendliness. The food was extremely good, prepared by a chef who certainly knows how to cook Indian and fusion food. The Ayavedic treatment on offer was superb and run by Dr Divya, a doctor of Ayaveda, who most certainly knows how to help solve health issues. Thank you to Pravi and all your wonderful team: so sad to say goodbye, but, hopefully, see you all again."
The Sanctum Spring Beach Resort
"If you’re looking for a retreat to unwind and rejuvenate, Sanctum Spring Resort is the perfect choice. We left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed."
Varkala Villa
"Loved this place! Binu gave a very warm welcome and was very helpful during my stay. Varlala Villa is spotlessly, clean, comfortable, quiet and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. They only have 4 rooms. My room was huge and the bed was very comfortable. There is a kitchen for use with a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee and drinking water. Really enjoyed my stay."
SkyLounge Residency
"Stay was very good, staff is good, very couple frdly. Couples can come to this space. Especially good safety for couples. Room was neat and clean. And it's very near to cliff. Only 300 meter walking distance from the cliff to this facility. We can take a auto from varkka railway station and we can get on this property. Safe and good place for couples and family"
Elixir Cliff Beach Resort and Spa
"Stayed from 30th to 31st January 2025. The hotel’s 5-star claim is laughable—it barely deserves 1 star, and that’s only for breakfast and high tea. Here’s why: 1. Abysmal Service (0 Stars): Service was agonizingly slow. Reported a dirty bathroom, and the receptionist just smiled and left—no action, no apology. 2. Terrible Rooms & Maintenance (0 Stars): Outdated furniture, wobbly fans that felt like they’d fall, and broken locks. The so-called 'sea view' is just a distant glimpse. A proper view requires descending a steep, unsafe path that’s hazardous for seniors. 3. Filthy Bathrooms (0 Stars): Stained toilets—clearly uncleaned before our stay. Hot water required repeated calls and staff 'jugaad' to work. 4. Rude, Clueless Staff (0 Stars): At check-in, they falsely claimed our payment wasn’t received and made us resolve it with Dream Holidays instead of verifying themselves. Staff were arrogant, untrained, and unprofessional. 5. Overpriced, Tasteless Food (⭐): ₹200 for a basic fruit salad without ice cream—ridiculously overpriced. The only highlights: a decent breakfast spread and complimentary high tea (tea with biscuits and pakodas). Final Verdict: This hotel is a scam hiding behind a 5-star label. It offers only disappointment—from service to rooms to staff behavior. **Overall Rating: ⭐⭐ (1 Star)—More than they deserve!"
Rachana's Black Beach Resort
"Pathetic stay. Rooms were not clean. Washroom was dirty. No house keeping. Absence of geysar, intercom was not available. Have never seen such pathetic hotel. They will suggest you to move to their another property named by black beech resort. But that is shady. Reception area seems like red light area"
Villa Luca by Elixir Cliff
"The location of the property is it's USP. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet needs substantial improvement."
The Village
"Horrible experience with this hotel. They denied us room at 6:30 PM and the staff misbehaved. They did not even contact us before denying us the room, we booked 20 days in advance. They could have provided us with the next available room but the greedy management asked us for money or asked us to leave the property as if we are beggars. Strict action should be taken against the property as guest from all over the country might face the same issue again."
Sun View Beach Resort
"The best thing about this resort is its location. Right on the cliff adjacent to the sea.. just a few steps to the beach. A small pool which is good for kids and people who don't know how to swim. The rooms are not worth the price. Service is not good. The room doesn't even have a phone to contact the reception. They gave a mobile number.. mostly no one picks the call.. The breakfast is just average.. any two dishes and curry, bread butter jam, cornflakes, boiled egg, tea coffee.. that's it.. for which sometimes you have to wait for a long time.."
Akshay Beach Resort
"There’s a phrase in Indian hospitality: Atithi Devo Bhava — “The guest is god.” Akshay treated me like a goddess. They offered me a beautiful room at a generous price and truly tended to every need. I caught a small bug during my stay; when I didn’t emerge from my room for a day, they quietly sent someone to check on me. That kind of care is rare. The staff helped with everything — finding supplies, giving directions, arranging my taxi to the airport. They refilled my water bottles daily, sparing me from contributing more plastic to the world. Everyone greeted me with a warm smile and a gentle “How are you, madam?” and I felt cared for in every way. My room was spacious and lovely, with an excellent air conditioner. There was a little fridge, and they brought me a kettle and a mug for my essential predawn coffee. Nothing I asked for was ever refused. I felt truly welcomed here. And the patio — I loved that space. It sits right above the street, so there’s a steady flow of life passing by, but I was tucked behind a railing and plants, mostly shielded from view. It gave me the rare pleasure of being on my own while still feeling connected to the pulse of Varkala. I spent so many hours there writing, sipping tea, and taking in the world. The beach is just a short walk down a lively lane full of shops and cafés. Varkala has many dogs, and while that can sometimes be hard to witness, the dogs here are cared for. I watched a team feeding the beach dogs, making sure the shy ones weren’t pushed aside. It told me a lot about the heart of this place. Varkala Beach is rich with culture, tradition, and spirituality. I’ve loved my time here and am truly sad to be leaving tomorrow. Come to Varkala. Stay at Akshay. It’s a place where kindness is a daily ritual, and guests are treated with genuine devotion."
Puthooram Sea View Resort Varkala
"Had a good time there the staff were friendly"
Aryavilla Heritage
"We've stayed at this hotel several times before – we've come with a large family. This time, I was on my own. Everything was impeccable. The location is very convenient, the service is excellent, the staff is attentive, and the rooms are beautiful with comfortable beds... I'm very pleased! We'll definitely be back!"
