Staying at this hotel was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff made me feel incredibly welcome. They even had oranges available at reception and a robot, Xiao Ju, to deliver items to rooms. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to public transportation, numerous attractions, and business districts. It's an excellent choice whether you're traveling for business or leisure.

1. The room was indeed spacious, with a charming Chinese style, clean and tidy. The lobby was genuinely grand. Despite being an older five-star hotel, its quality and heritage are still evident.
2. The location is convenient, but getting to Tiananmen Square requires a detour due to restrictions, making it about a 15-20 minute walk. I'd recommend taking a taxi to the edge of the restricted area and then walking. If you're up for it, walking is quite direct, and it's also close to Qianmen Street, especially if you use shared bicycles, which is the most convenient option! I primarily used Didi (ride-sharing) because I was traveling with elderly family members and children.
3. The absolute best part was the service. The front desk staff were polite and gentle. When your Didi arrives, someone opens the door for you, helps with luggage, and there's complimentary afternoon tea. Upon check-in, they provided fruit, helped with luggage, and even assisted with food deliveries. Staff members greeted you whenever you saw them, and there was unlimited mineral water! (Haha, I really liked that!) Plus, the large floor-to-ceiling windows were great; when the sun was out, the view didn't matter as much as getting clothes dried quickly! 😜
4. Regarding comments I read about clogged toilets or dirty water – I didn't encounter any of that! These issues must have been resolved by now. With their excellent service, you could always ask for a room change or request a higher floor if you did experience such problems.

My stay at the Grand Hotel Beijing was absolutely fantastic! The guest rooms are classically elegant, with exquisite and refined Chinese-style decor and high-quality furniture. The layout is spacious and comfortable, and every detail showcases the historic charm and craftsmanship of a seasoned hotel. The environment is clean and peaceful.
All the staff were highly professional, especially attendant #1015. During the summer, they even went out of their way to help us with our luggage to the entrance. They were kind and courteous, meticulous and thoughtful in their work, and always responded promptly and attentively to our needs, providing exceptionally detailed service. The location is also excellent, making travel very convenient – whether for sightseeing or shopping, it's hassle-free. Overall, my stay was incredibly satisfying. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Beijing!

The location is superb. Whatever you want to eat, it's available right out the back door, and you can walk to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The rooms are spacious, and the cleaning staff are very friendly; anything you ask for is delivered quickly. The breakfast is also quite good. Usually, hotels are very crowded during the summer holidays, and service can't keep up, but that's not the case here. The facilities are a bit old, but that's acceptable, as we were looking for this kind of vibe. If you want new facilities, there are many other hotels nearby to choose from. We stayed for five days and still felt very good about it.
The only minor drawback was with the front desk staff. I mentioned that although our three rooms were on the same floor, and I understood it might not be possible to have them all together, we still wanted the rooms for the elderly and children to be as close as possible. I asked if they could help us switch rooms if any nearby became available during our five-day stay. However, she told me to check again early the next morning to see if any rooms had become vacant. I found this quite puzzling; in this day and age, do I still need to come and ask every day? So, I didn't ask again, and no one followed up on my request.

This hotel was incredibly thoughtful. We arrived early, around 8 or 9 AM, even though check-in was officially after 12 PM, and they let us check in right away – super convenient! Seeing that we had a little girl, they immediately provided pink children's slippers, which made her so happy. The location is also fantastic, very convenient for getting to Tiananmen Square and Qianmen. On our check-out day, they were happy to hold our luggage for us. Plus, the room was very clean and tidy. I rarely leave reviews, but this one definitely deserves a great one!

I booked a stay at the Beijing Hotel. I arrived during a peak rush, but Ms. Feng at the front desk didn't let that affect her service in the slightest. She promptly helped me with the invoice and quickly completed the check-in process. Noticing my preference to be away from elevator noise, she specifically moved me to a higher-floor room. The room's soundproofing was excellent, and the facilities were well-maintained. The staff was responsive to every request, and their efficient and thoughtful service really helped wash away the fatigue from my travels.

Apart from the renovation which we were told beforehand, the room we had was dark (probably because it was a windowless room), humid, aircon wasn’t strong but they provided a fan. Could smell urine even with the toilet seat covered, toilet door was closed, to a point that i was awaken by the foul smell. Had to spray perfume to have it barely covered. Ventilation was super bad. Cons aside, service was good, fridge in room had free drinks. Would recommend to book a window room if you had to even though friend that stayed in the window room said it was bad too. There’s a mall few minutes walk away which was a plus. Good view on the reception floor too.

This is the best hotel for watching the flag-raising ceremony. The rooms are clean, and the service is excellent. They even offer free foldable stools (a must-have! I went to the security checkpoint #4 across the street at 10:30 PM and waited over 4 hours to snag a prime spot; a foldable stool was absolutely essential). Walk out of the hotel, turn left, and it's a 5-minute walk to the subway station, and 8 minutes to Dashilar Pedestrian Street. Dashilar has everything you could want to eat: Quanjude (Peking Duck), Donglaishun (hot pot), and Fangzhuanchang #69 Zhajiangmian. There's also a hotel downstairs with great food, but they blast ads on a small loudspeaker until 10 PM.
