Great
AAlJaWatsonThis is not a 5 star hotel! I have to be honest, I have stayed in many 5 star hotels across Asia and to come to Scotland I had hoped for better. I booked this hotel for two nights with my daughter who is in her 20’s.
Check in was swift and the twin room we were allocated was basic and not very big. Our room overlooked the Usher Hall and Castle.
Breakfast the first morning was very disappointing. There is no buffet breakfast, only al a carte. You were to choose a starter eg. Porridge, overnight oats and then a main: full cooked breakfast, pancakes with bacon. However, all the food came together, which meant that if we’d eaten the yogurt first, the main courses would have been cold. I complained to two different servers and neither of them offered so much as an apology.
To use the One Spa, you have to have booked a spa room or pay extra…definitely not worth it. This should be included for all rooms.
Don’t book this hotel, there are many better hotels in Edinburgh for the same if not less money.
GGuest UserService was top notch here with staff super friendly
Loved the pool and spa facilities although they are small so recommend trying to go at off peak hours. The gym is surprisingly well appointed too - they should make more of that!
Happy hour in the bar was a nice touch too

Very Good
GGuest UserAll went well until they gave us a room that was up a flight of stairs. First took a lift then walked down a corridor then found a door that led to a small stairs. We are both in our late 60s and were not expecting to carry and not offered any help either. When it came to checking out the lift was broken!! Luckily the maintenance man happy to be walking past and took pity on us .
SSiluowenniyayuanshuThe price-performance ratio is not bad, but it is a bit old, but the service is top-notch! When those Edinburgh voco hotels are selling for 1700, I will not hesitate to spend 2100 to stay at the Waldorf Astoria. What kind of bicycle do you need for 2100? This is the Waldorf Astoria hahaha
Nnobody*Free parking is available. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is very convenient. It's close to amenities like gas stations, supermarkets, and fast food outlets. The city center is only about a 30-minute walk away, and you can easily catch a bus to various tourist attractions. The staff are friendly, and they kindly offered a complimentary late check-out. Overall, I was very satisfied.
