Great
AAnna E AdamsFantastic location being so close to the Castle, old and new town. Rooms are beautifully designed, clean and cosy. It’s so handy having a kitchen in the room to self cater when needed. We’ve loved visiting Edinburgh and will definitely book to stay here again.

MM56973****The room was very spacious and well-equipped. Supermarkets are within walking distance, which made preparing our own dinner and breakfast very convenient. The castle is about a fifteen-minute walk away, and the train station is roughly a ten-minute taxi ride.

GGuest UserMy recent hotel stay was a bit of a mixed experience. While the hotel was clean and well-equipped, there were several issues that detracted from my overall satisfaction.
Before arriving, I had communicated with the hotel via email and was told that they could be reached via WhatsApp. However, upon arrival, I was unable to get a response from the hotel on WhatsApp. Additionally, there was no reception area, and check-in had to be done over the phone, which required multiple long-distance phone calls and extra fees.
The day before check-in, I received a last-minute email from the hotel requesting a deposit, but they did not provide any information on how to make the payment. Not all of the staff were willing to provide assistance, but the last person I spoke to was patient and helpful, which allowed me to check in smoothly.
One major safety concern was that there was a step outside the bathroom, but the floor was not marked, making it easy to trip and fall. Another hazard was the transparent coffee table in the living room, which caused several stumbling incidents that could have led to injuries.
Overall, while the hotel was clean and well-maintained, the issues with communication, extra fees, and safety hazards detracted from my experience.
GGuest UserThe room itself was nice. However during our entire visit the ground floor is under renovation so only a small cramp room for breakfast and you have to carry food back to the room. Also had requested to have the room cleaned multiple days and each time the cleaners somehow missed our room. We even left specific note to the reception to ensure our room didn’t get skipped and yet find room wasn’t cleaned. When we finally got it cleaned (on third attempt), they missed clearing the bins (was full to brim as we stayed for a few days by then and they haven’t cleaned the room since) and missed changing the sheets when we even explicitly requested for it at the reception two days in a row. In the end we didn’t manage to get the sheets changed for our entire week stay… when we asked to leave the feedback to the manager, the reception staff told us to make appointment with their manager on the next day when they visit the hotel. We were already quite upset with the service we received and yet when asked to pass on feedback of our experience to the manager we were told to carve out some time in the middle of the day during our holiday to make an appointment to deliver the message ourselves!?? Not great experience.
AaksuwalThe breakfast was incredibly rich, with a wide variety of drinks, bread, sausages, bacon, cereals, and fruits – definitely filling. The location is a tiny bit out of the way, but we took the local train to the city center every day. It's a convenient 12-minute ride from Haymarket Station to Waverley Station. The room was spacious, though the facilities were a little dated. Overall, it was a good stay.
HHunnyExplore1. Location, Location, Location
• It’s hard to beat this hotel for central Edinburgh. Right on North Bridge, you’re a stone’s throw from Waverley Station, the Royal Mile, shops, restaurants, and many of the city’s major sights.
• Great for walking everywhere; you don’t need transport for many of the main attractions.
2. Room Size & Basics
• Many guests say the rooms are more spacious than you might expect in a city‑centre hotel.
• Clean, with decent bathrooms, functional furniture, and most have good views (though that depends on the side you’re on).
3. Quality of Bed & Sleep Amenities
• Beds often get praise for being comfortable (though not universally). TVs, desks, kettles etc. are standard and work well.
4. Restaurant / Lounge / Public Areas
• Decent lounge with a good drinks menu, good public areas, attractive décor in common spaces.
• The steakhouse (Marco Pierre White) is a draw for many visitors.

GGuest UserMy stay was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere, a comfortable and clean room, and a convenient location, and this hotel delivered on all fronts. The service was exceptional. Every staff member I interacted with, from check-in to check-out, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made me feel comfortable and valued as a guest, which isn't always the case when traveling alone.
FFatima IssaA Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended!
My friend and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely property, and we had an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the attention to detail and the warmth of the staff. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we both got a restful night’s sleep.
What truly stood out, however, was the level of service. I was feeling a bit under the weather during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond by bringing breakfast directly to our room, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. This level of care really goes a long way in making guests feel valued.
For those who prefer to enjoy their breakfast with a bit of fresh air, the hotel also has a charming terrace where you can take your meal while soaking in the surroundings. It's the perfect way to start the day if you want to enjoy a bit of sunshine.
The location is also a major plus. It’s just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to explore, and for those who prefer not to walk, a quick 5-minute bus ride will take you wherever you need to go.
The lounge area at the hotel is another highlight. It’s spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with blankets to keep guests comfortable if the temperature drops. It provided the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. The combination of comfort, thoughtful service, and a prime location makes it a top choice. We will definitely be staying here again when we return!

Nnobody*Free parking is available. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is very convenient. It's close to amenities like gas stations, supermarkets, and fast food outlets. The city center is only about a 30-minute walk away, and you can easily catch a bus to various tourist attractions. The staff are friendly, and they kindly offered a complimentary late check-out. Overall, I was very satisfied.
