Great
MMia0307Practical location, but disappointing breakfast and service
We stayed here the night before an early morning flight, and the location couldn’t be more convenient – just a short walk to the terminal. The rooms are clean and functionally furnished. However, the staff could be more welcoming; the service feels very transactional, as if guests are just passing through.
What really disappointed us was the breakfast. While it’s a paid extra, the early breakfast offering (from 4 AM) was extremely minimal – even less than what you’d expect from a basic Holiday Inn Express. It felt like cost-saving was the main priority, not guest satisfaction.
A convenient place to sleep before a flight, but don’t expect much beyond that.

YYunduanderizi21A very traditional, elegant, ancient and solemn hotel, the overall feeling is very good!
The location is very convenient. After exiting the Waverley train station, you can reach the hotel in less than 5 minutes on foot. The entrance is very eye-catching. It's just a big uphill walk, and it will be a bit strenuous if you push a large piece of luggage. It only takes 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the castle.
The hotel lobby is very traditional, and the characteristic bonfire hall seems to have entered Santa Claus's home. The lady at the front desk is very enthusiastic and introduced the various facilities in the room in detail. Because Scotland is still quite cold, I didn't feel it when I turned on the heating in the room to the maximum. In the morning, a traditional English breakfast on the first floor of the hotel is absolutely amazing. There is a western restaurant with candlelight dinner next to the hotel, where you can enjoy a sweet world for two! 😍😍

GGuest UserI visited Edinburgh to have a break from work.
Lovely to stayed in this beautiful hotel. My room was gorgeous, big and very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and excellent. The all staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful specially to Anthony and Marco also one lady half Filipina half Australia (sorry forgot her name) they are all lovely. I can’t wait to visit again here. Great location as well.I highly recommend this hotel.
TTuziThe room was very spacious. There's a fantastic Chinese restaurant nearby with incredibly friendly staff and delicious food. Breakfast was included in the room rate, which was a great perk. It's only a 20-minute journey to the charming Dean Village and just 10 minutes to Edinburgh's city centre. I highly recommend this place!
GGuest UserThe location is excellent, right near Edinburgh Waverley Station. Just make sure to use the Market Street exit. I booked a female-only quad room, which consisted of two bunk beds. It came with a private bathroom and shower for the four occupants, though the room itself was quite compact. Unfortunately, luggage storage isn't free. You'll need to use the lockers located in the communal kitchen upstairs. It cost me £2 for an hour.

KK T Richard TanI have stayed in Marriott properties in many countries since the early 1980s.
This was my first stay at the Moxy brand of Marriott properties.
When we arrived, the driveway was completely roped off and blocked by two huge construction vehicles and the door into the lobby was also roped off. No alternative was provided to allow us to drop off our heavy bags or even to enter the hotel from the car park.
Having to register my car or risk a £100 fine just to drop off the luggage was not a customer-friendly message. I am aware this applies to other Marriott airport properties in Scotland to deter non-guests from parking. But I am sure with all the brainpower in the Marriott group, a customer-friendly solution can be found.
The towel in my room had holes. Housekeeping staff opened my room door twice. Luckily I was only half naked.
Really lousy breakfast. Dried scrambled eggs. No other egg type offered. Dried bacon. Orange juice tasted quite bad.
The lobby doubled up as the place for breakfast. As a result, food droppings on the floor were quite unsightly.
But I must say the staff were all wonderfully nice, polite and helpful

DDen823Great stay at this hostel! The front desk staff are super friendly, and the rooms and bathrooms are very clean.
Minor cons: the 3rd - floor sink is too small with a push faucet, but i notice 1st floor sinks are great. And breakfast have limited items. Still, it’s clean and easy to find, and I’d happily recommend it!

GGuest UserMy children and I loved this small, clean, and safe hotel. Haymarket Station is just one tube stop away from Edinburgh Train Station, and the hotel is a mere five-minute walk from the station. The train access wasn't crowded, unlike Edinburgh Station, which is often overcrowded. The castle and the National Museum are a convenient 15-20 minute walk away. Edinburgh isn't a big city, and we didn't take the public transport during our three-night stay. The hotel offers free water, tea, and hot chocolate on the ground floor, and access requires a card, so it feels quite secure. While the room was small, the drawer under the bed accommodated our 26-inch suitcase and backpack, making it a bit more comfortable. There are breakfast shops and supermarkets along the way to the National Museum, and Wang Guiren's spicy hot pot is also nearby, which is quite delicious.
GGuest Userit was a great experience. The ambiance was very nice 24 seven there was a receptionist and also the cleanliness was good and food is also good. I would highly recommend someone who is visiting Edinburgh to stay there because it’s closer to the town. It’s very affordable and and one of the best places to be around very close to the Dean village as well.
GGuest UserThe room was much better than expected, clean and comfortable. Self-service check-in and check-out were quick and convenient. If you don't know how to use it, you can call and ask for patient guidance. If you don't know how to use the access control, you can ask the staff. The location is far from the city center and various attractions, about 30 minutes walk, but you can take the bus.
In summary, it is still a good choice. After all, hotels in Edinburgh are crazy expensive. I will stay in this hotel again.
