The receptionist refused to check us in, citing our reservation for August 7th. We tried to explain that astronomical hours don't coincide with hotel check-in (2:00 p.m.) and check-out (12:00 a.m.). If we hadn't booked the following night, two very elderly people could have been left stranded on the street in an unfamiliar city in the middle of the night!
