100 meters from Karon Beach, an affordable place averaging 90 per person, and two major traps to avoid! I dug up a real gem of a value-for-money hotel near Karon Beach in Phuket, and I absolutely have to recommend it to budget travelers! First, the price: only 180 a night! In China, you'd only get a budget hotel for that price, but here you're right in the beach walking circle. I stayed in building #4, and the room was spotlessly clean, no damp, musty smell, and the bedding was fresh, so I slept very soundly. The best part – it's only 100 meters to the beach! Just change into your swimwear, stroll over, and you're in the water. When you're tired of playing, you can come back anytime for a shower, it's so convenient. The coconut tree at the end of my video is the beach itself. If you want to be even closer, you can ask if buildings #1 or #2 are available, but they might be a bit noisier as they're closer to the road. Breakfast is a buffet, and while it's not a lavish five-star spread, the flavors are authentic and delicious, especially the Thai fried noodles. It tastes just like what you'd get from a street food stall, saving you the cost of a meal. Picture 2 with the bread shows the breakfast spread. Deposit: The front desk requires a 1000 baht cash deposit. When checking out, they're super efficient – they inspect the room and refund it instantly, which is a big plus. Surroundings: There's a 7-Eleven within 200 meters. There's a massage parlor downstairs, but I didn't go. You can always buy water and snacks at 7-Eleven. There are several small eateries nearby; I went to 'The Grand,' a family-run place, and ate there two nights in a row (pictures included). There's a coin laundry next to building #4 downstairs. You'll need coins, and you can buy detergent from the machine, but it's more expensive than 7-Eleven, so I recommend buying it there. ⚠️ But! Here are the major traps to avoid! Trap 1: The private convenience store downstairs – four times the price! I'd been buying things at 7-Eleven for seven or eight days in Thailand. That day, for laundry, I didn't have coins and went to the private store downstairs for convenience. The result? A 2-liter bottle of the same brand mineral water that costs 14 baht outside was 15 baht for 500ml there, a quadruple markup! Absolutely outrageous. Trap 2: Amber Restaurant downstairs – possibly fake reviews! Initially, I saw a high rating on Dazhong Dianping (a Chinese review site) and thought about trying it. But when I got there, I found it was full of Chinese tourists, and they even had group buying deals! As everyone knows, which local Thai restaurant would use Dazhong Dianping for group deals? I suspected the scores were faked, so I decided not to eat there. Everyone should assess it for themselves. On a side note, regarding the coin laundry downstairs I mentioned earlier, it costs 50-60 baht per wash. If you don't have coins, you can exchange them directly at the machine or ask the front desk for help. Absolutely do NOT go to that rip-off store to get change! There are more Chinese and Russian tourists staying here. The staff can generally communicate in English, and ordering food by gesturing is perfectly fine. In a nutshell: For 180 baht, what more could you ask for? Just go for it! But keep your hands in your pockets and stay away from those two places downstairs!

I was extremely satisfied with this trip. I chose the Orchid Hotel because of its location and the big waterslide, though my expectations weren't very high initially. I'd seen some reviews mentioning the hotel being damp and moldy, but I figured that for the 300-400 baht price point, it would be acceptable. I requested a high-floor, sunny room on Trip.com. I booked two rooms, and since our flight arrived late, we didn't get to the hotel until midnight. The two rooms were in different buildings, quite far apart. At first, I wasn't happy and considered asking to switch to closer rooms the next day. However, the hotel upgraded one of my standard rooms to a pool-view room, directly facing the big waterslide. My child loved it and didn't want to move, so we just made do. I stayed on the third floor of building 1. While the room wasn't brand new, it wasn't as old or damp as some reviews suggested. When I entered, the air conditioning was on. I'm not sure if it was because I'd noted my concern about dampness causing my child to get a rash, but the hotel clearly made an effort regarding customer satisfaction. As for people saying the breakfast wasn't good or that there weren't many Chinese people, I think that's subjective. My whole family found the food quite acceptable; it was typical buffet fare. The small restaurant next door was convenient for lunch and dinner. The location was great, only a few hundred meters' walk from Karon Beach. The kids had an absolute blast on the pool slide, and my two-year-old even learned to swim in the shallow pool! A truly commendable point is that it was my eldest son's birthday on the 22nd. Without any prior notification from me, the hotel decorated our room for his birthday. We were out at sea all day, and when we returned to the room that evening, we found it meticulously cleaned. The hotel had fashioned adorable little elephants from towels, adorned with fresh flowers, and left a birthday card. Both the kids and adults were amazed! My son was overjoyed. It was his first tenth birthday, and his first time receiving birthday wishes from a hotel. I have to say, for a seaside hotel in Phuket, an old establishment like the Orchid, at such a great value, making this kind of effort – I am extremely satisfied. If I ever go to Phuket again, I will definitely stay here. This is not a paid review; it's a completely genuine and objective assessment, for your reference.

The hotel offers great value for money, with its biggest advantage being its beachfront location – just cross the road and you're at the sea. The breakfast restaurant boasts beautiful views, directly facing the beach. Breakfast is a decent buffet, a mix of Thai and Western dishes. The hotel has a public swimming pool and a gym, but no laundry facilities. The overall style is Thai-inspired, and the rooms are cleaned daily, always fresh and tidy, making for a comfortable stay. The shower pressure is also good. They provide two glass bottles of water daily, which are reusable and cannot be taken with you, which was a bit odd and inconvenient. There was also no bar soap. Overall, for this price, the accommodation is excellent. Very good value for money!

The hotel is right by the beach, just a few steps away. In the morning, you can open the window to see and hear the sound of the waves. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but don't worry, the staff here are very enthusiastic and friendly. They'll help you carry your luggage up to your room, and when you check out, they'll help you bring it down to the front desk as well.

I highly recommend this hotel! Its location is excellent, right by the airport link, just a five-minute walk to the stop. It's also very close to the beach, just across the road, and the views are absolutely stunning. The room is spacious and even has a balcony. The bedding is very clean, and they clean the room daily. The hotel boasts a super long swimming pool. For around 200 baht, it's incredible value for money. Breakfast is just okay, but there are plenty of 7-Elevens and restaurants nearby. The deposit is 3000 Thai Baht. The only minor downsides were some footsteps from upstairs and music/singing from outside at night, which could be a bit noisy. Otherwise, it was absolutely perfect, and I'll definitely be back!

Pros: The service was quite enthusiastic and responsive. The rooms were spacious with 180-degree views, and the bedding was comfortable. Also, since they are all stand-alone villas with only neighbors above and below, soundproofing and privacy are better. The staggered layout allows for distant sea views from the balconies, and there are many pools to enjoy water activities within the hotel. Breakfast was decent, quite simple, with good fruit, but the juices were not freshly squeezed, which was a bit disappointing. Cons: The gym equipment was limited, and the hotel is quite far from the beach and town. Overall, it's good value for money, nothing exceptional but left a positive impression. It's not over-the-top excellent though. This hotel is suitable for those looking for a quiet retreat nestled on a hillside or for people who plan to go sightseeing far away during the day. Tourists who prefer convenience to living areas or want to spend time at the beach should consider other options.

The hotel is very close to Karon Beach, just across the road. These two photos were taken on the beach near the hotel. When I first checked in, I encountered some issues, and Manager M.J. provided immense help until everything was resolved to my satisfaction. So, if anyone staying at the hotel encounters problems, don't hesitate to contact Manager M.J. The breakfast selection was quite rich, and they rotated some dishes daily. Breakfast hours were also very long; I remember going as late as 10:30 AM one day. The hotel's environment is excellent, and it never felt too crowded. The pool was always uncrowded, no matter when I went. Most mornings, I was woken up by the sound of birds. Getting a taxi from the hotel is very convenient. Using Grab, a car was usually there within a minute or two.

They were in the hotel for three days, no longer endured, a terrible room, everything old, broken, no territory, passers-by walk, no sitting, no clothes drying anywhere, at night all the neighbors and on the side and on top. One good, close to the sea. Hotel is not worth its money, I do not recommend

The hotel's environment and hygiene are generally good, provided you get a good room type. If it's just a lower-priced room, quality might not be guaranteed. The two women at the front desk weren't very proficient in either Chinese or English. Front desk and bellhop service were mediocre, but the security guards were diligent. If the booking price is reasonable, these issues might be acceptable. I suggest checking low-rated reviews before booking; if you can live with the mentioned problems, then go ahead and reserve, as you're likely to encounter them. There are many Chinese guests, which might be why the hotel service feels dismissive. After dark, an entire building full of Chinese guests and their children were making a lot of noise. At check-out time around noon, the lobby was even louder with so many Chinese guests gathered.

This is the longest I've ever stayed at a hotel, and the Deluxe Garden Villa was truly exceptional! It had its own private plunge pool, offering great privacy. The room was very clean with no insects, and the bathroom was spacious with two sinks. The hotel environment was also fantastic, boasting two swimming pools. Just across the street from the hotel, you'll find the beach, and the surrounding area is lively. There's a 7-Eleven right outside, so no long walks needed. I also randomly found a great massage place nearby. Breakfast was a bit better than other hotels, and the service was excellent. They ask you what coffee you'd like as soon as you're seated. Check-in and check-out were quick; I was able to check in before noon. I'd definitely love to stay here again on my next visit!

What a hidden gem of a guesthouse! The location is absolutely top-notch. Right across the street, you'll find a fruit stand, restaurants, and a 7-Eleven, and there's a scooter rental shop right next door. It's just a 3-minute walk to the beach, making it super convenient for getting around and finding food and drinks. The guesthouse, both inside and out, is always clean, fresh, and smells wonderful. The room amenities are complete, and they even provide disposable toiletries. The front desk staff are local Thais. For communication, you can directly message the owner on WeChat, and they'll help relay and resolve any issues. The owner is also very helpful with questions not related to our stay, which we really appreciate. Umbrellas and beach mats are available for free loan – what a thoughtful touch! The room card isn't one of those that cuts power when removed, so the fridge stays cold, which is fantastic! The room also comes with a safe. The only downside is that being on a street, you might hear motorbikes revving. They do provide earplugs, but we slept soundly and didn't even need them. There were also towel elephants that the kids loved. Even after coming to Chiang Mai, they're still talking about the guesthouse in Phuket! The Thai lady at the front desk was also great with the kids; she'd proactively chat with them and was very gentle. I wish the owner great success and prosperity. Thank you for taking care of us for these four days!

Centara Karon Villas Phuket

Having stayed at many Centara hotels, a local hotel group, I can confidently give this one a five-star rating! This villa is their newest property, featuring a modern, circular design. The ground floor consists of pool villas, though the pools aren't huge. The resort also has a regular hotel in a high-rise building, and another tropical rainforest-style resort (which isn't listed on Ctrip). All three hotels share facilities, including five fantastic swimming pools! I didn't have time to experience the spa. The breakfast buffet was incredibly rich and even had Eggs Benedict! Villa guests enjoy complimentary afternoon tea and cocktails. The gym offers great views, and there's a Starbucks right next door. Upon check-in, I downloaded their app, which I used to order water and other items directly. The resort has many other facilities and daily activities that I didn't get a chance to experience. This resort is a destination in itself; you could easily spend your entire trip just relaxing here. The beach is less than a ten-minute walk away, but the waves are quite big, so it's more for surfing than swimming. Unlike domestic hotels, the white cloth slippers provided by this hotel group are not disposable. They are cleaned, disinfected, and reused ♻️. The bellhops at the entrance were very proactive in helping with luggage, arranging a taxi, and even taking a photo with me. I tipped them a little for their excellent service.

The location is superb, Karon Beach is literally just across the street. The hostel itself is very good. The cleanliness in the bathroom isn't perfect, but for the price, it's understandable and acceptable. The staff are very kind and friendly, always ready to help if needed. There's also a common area where everyone usually gathers and socializes in the evenings. It's great for meeting new people, not just for sleeping. It's also cool that if you're alone, you can find company to go out with. The hostel is right by the road, so it won't be perfectly quiet, but I've seen louder hostels, so it's not a big deal. Another cool perk is the free snacks, tea, and coffee. Overall, I recommend it for

I stayed here again after more than a year, and this time the family room on the 4th floor had a great view! Absolutely perfect! That's a big plus. The hotel is undoubtedly beautiful, and the check-in service was good. There were staff who spoke a little Chinese, though the official service language is mostly English. However, I did have a slightly different experience this time. I tried both early and late breakfast shifts. After the staff seated us, they rarely reappeared. If we wanted tea, we had to call someone over. Typically, at a hotel of this star rating, they usually ask about tea as soon as you sit down, don't they? Did their SOP change, or am I just expecting too much? Also, the bedsheet in the room already had a hole in it, which was a bit awkward. It didn't affect my sleep, so I didn't report it or take a picture. I found the food excellent. The ingredients and the taste of the dishes were very much to our liking. The only thing is that the two-course dinner per person was a bit too much; my small appetite couldn't finish it all, and it felt wasteful. This year, it's either starting with two meals or nothing at all, which is quite inconvenient. I prefer having breakfast included and then ordering dinner à la carte. Nevertheless, the price this year was very reasonable. I double-checked everything before departure and resolved some issues happily with Trip.com. That was pretty good!

The hotel is good value for money, the towels, 2 bottles of water and new sheets are provided daily. The bathroom soap, shampoo are also provided, but they can forget to put the new ones, but you can ask for them. The location is good, but it is 10 mins walk to the beach (Karon) by a busy street full of traffic, but there are a lot of restaurants and pharmacies as well. The balcony has a good view.

Traveling solo to Phuket, this was my first hotel and it was a great choice! The price was affordable, and the environment was excellent. It's very close to Karon Beach, just a short walk through a pedestrian street with plenty of food and drinks, shops for swimming gear, and convenience stores. It's also near a bus stop, making it super convenient to get to other beaches, including Chalong Pier and Phuket Town. Perfect for anyone looking for good value for money. Right across the street is a 7-Eleven with everything you could need. A short stroll will take you to Karon Beach to watch the sunset – the most beautiful scenery is right here! You can also walk to the food street to experience the local culture of Phuket. The hotel environment is also very good, and there's a balcony with a lovely view.

I chose this hotel cos it's the most affordable in Karon and it's very convenient to go anywhere. It's the first time staying there. The room is spacious, however it's quite an old hotel. As it's an old hotel, of cos there's stains on pillow cases. Water pressure is not good. Location wise, it's just across the beach, and it's nearby eateries and 7-11s. The hotel has got a small pool and an unusable gym.
