I was very satisfied with my stay this time, and I sincerely thank Linda, Chris, and Alfreda from Guest Relations. Linda was attentive and thoughtful, confirming my check-in needs in advance, promptly responding to all my inquiries, and arranging everything related to my stay perfectly. Chris was enthusiastic and proactively helped with my luggage; he was efficient and reliable, providing a lot of convenience. Alfreda's service at checkout was polite and appropriate, processing the procedures efficiently and smoothly, and she even proactively asked about my experience. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The hotel's executive lounge service was warm, and the cocktails were excellent. All three staff members provided warm service with attention to detail everywhere. My overall stay experience exceeded my expectations and is highly recommended. I will choose this hotel again for my next trip.

This was our first trip staying away from home after having a baby. We booked the InterContinental last minute without looking at too many reviews. The most important thing for us was seeing comments that they provide a crib and bed rails, so we just went for it. When we arrived, it really lived up to its reputation as a family-friendly hotel! It was great! It's about 95% baby-friendly. You hear kids' voices everywhere, and the place is bustling with people, so we didn't feel too much pressure when our baby occasionally cried. Despite the hustle and bustle, it was quiet in our room. The corridors were very wide, and even with many guests, the corridors leading to the rooms were surprisingly quiet. It's friendly for young babies. After we noted it in our booking, the front desk proactively arranged for a crib and bed rails on both sides of the main bed. The bathroom has a bathtub, so if your little one doesn't want to go to the public pool, they can still 'swim' in the room. The view from the room's window was lovely, with lush green trees. The pool was so beautiful that even someone like me, who doesn't particularly enjoy swimming, felt an urge to quickly buy a swimsuit and dive in. Riding the mini-train felt a bit like 'It's a Small World' at Disneyland. However, there were quite a few things to complain about: 1. After taking the elevator from the hotel down to the pool, there were several steps. It wasn't an accessible route, which made pushing the stroller up and down quite troublesome. 2. Outside the gym, in the fishpond corridor leading to the barber shop/restaurant, there was a height difference in the floor. This could easily have been made into a gentle slope, but it wasn't. This uneven step tripped several people, and I witnessed it twice. 3. The front desk kindly offered a complimentary upgrade to a suite, but the walk down the long corridor was exhausting. One section of the corridor had many red LED-lit ox figures hanging on one side, which felt like it was suppressing something. The sea salt or whatever was placed in the corridor also felt like some kind of ritual. Coupled with the room's deep red carpet and black/red as the dominant colors, it felt a bit creepy. (Sorry, maybe I've just watched too many international horror movies). 4. A small sign in the room stated that takeout food had to be picked up a short walk away, and suggested we order from the hotel's dining options. So, we ordered room service that night. The food looked exquisite in the menu photos, but what arrived was so bad it was an embarrassment to the hotel. The next day, we couldn't stand it and walked the long corridor ourselves to pick up takeout. 5. At lunchtime, we went to the hotel's Chinese restaurant, Huashan. There was no one to greet us at the main entrance. We walked in and couldn't find anyone. A server walked out, saw us, pretended not to, and then turned back inside. I was genuinely confused, wondering if it was even open. We walked a bit further and finally saw two servers at the cashier. I asked if they were open. One lady replied, ”This is the Chinese restaurant.” And then quietly looked at me. I was truly speechless (did I ask that question?). Fortunately, another quick-witted lady promptly took over, asking how many people were dining and proactively led us to our table. The food at the restaurant was good, though. Overall, the experience just wasn't one you could describe as completely satisfying. Like life, I suppose, there's beauty amidst the imperfections.

First of all, a big thank you to Calice & Tracy for their meticulous arrangements before our stay. I was celebrating my mother's birthday, and the butler, upon learning this, prepared a lovely surprise birthday setup for us. Here are the main aspects of the hotel that I was very satisfied with: 1. Direct subway access: This is excellent for those who don't drive or want to avoid traffic jams and taxis. 2. Well-divided swimming pool: It has both 1.2m and 1.5m sections, keeping children and adults separate. Plus, the pool offers a fantastic view of the sea. 3. Beach access right downstairs: You can put on your swimsuit, take the elevator down, and go straight to play in the water. Then, take the elevator back up to your room to shower and change. 4. Sea view room: The sea view from the room was absolutely stunning! 5. Delicious buffet: Both dinner and breakfast buffets were unique and excellent. My mother was very pleased. One minor dissatisfaction: It seems the only way from the hotel entrance to the lobby is via the car lane. I walked around for a while and realized there's no pedestrian walkway. You have to walk in the car lane. Fortunately, traffic generally moves very slowly, so it wasn't too dangerous. Do they assume guests never walk in? 😅 Overall, I think a sunny weekday during the off-season is perfect for a two-day stay here!
