GGuest UserI've been working too hard lately, so I decided to take a short break at the St. Regis Qianhai OCT this weekend. The hotel's facilities are superb and the aesthetic is high-end, but the service was really subpar. I arrived at 2:50 PM, and the guy at the front desk checking me in was greasy, slow, and arrogant. Well, people have different personalities, so I didn't want to nitpick, and I just put up with it. Then I was told my room wasn't ready and I'd have to wait about half an hour. Around 3 PM is when I usually feel sleepy, and all I wanted was to check in quickly and catch a nap. But to keep my holiday mood intact, I put up with it again. So I sat in the lobby reading a book, waiting to check in. However, after waiting fifty minutes, other guests who were also waiting in the lobby had all checked in, and the greasy front desk guy had disappeared – no one was paying attention to me. After a bit more waiting, a female staff member noticed me and asked if I was waiting to check in. I said yes. She took my name to check, and in no time, found that my room was ready, then led me to the elevator. I was truly baffled – if it weren't for this lady, how much longer would that greasy guy have made me wait? On the way to the elevator, I was even more surprised. We ended up walking alongside a group of people viewing properties for sale. The sales agent was loudly introducing the development to several clients as they walked, taking up the entire hallway. The female staff member leading me to the elevator looked conflicted, and finally just led me straight through the middle of their group. To my surprise, this same group and I got into the same elevator. They continued to loudly discuss the property throughout the ride, which felt really low-class! Also, neither the butler nor the turndown service attendant had their phones on silent, which was very impolite. Lastly, at breakfast, no one showed me to a table or asked if I wanted coffee or tea. Overall, the service was quite disappointing.
