AAnonymous UserThe B&B was super clean and comfortable, the room was spacious, and it felt just like home – so cozy! The owner was also incredibly warm and attentive. They even showed us how to rent an electric scooter to explore the ancient city, which was super convenient. Dali Ancient City is right across the street. We also found lots of local snacks at Sanyue Street. There's even a washing machine available upstairs for laundry. And the best part? We had a view of the snowy mountains from our room. Basically, if you're not planning on going to the eastern route, you don't need to hire a private car; an electric scooter is enough. If you're planning on driving yourself, remember to apply for an international driving permit in advance.

GGuest UserMy trip to Dali this time was incredibly comfortable, but the best first impression I had of Dali was definitely the owners of Nanbei Xiaoyuan ☺️. Both of them were so enthusiastic ❤️, answering all my questions and patiently explaining anything I didn't understand. They really helped me get a profound sense of the city of Dali. I'm so grateful to the owners for this trip; I feel like they planned my entire itinerary 🙏. Seriously, thank you so much for ensuring I had no bad experiences. I truly recommend this place; if you have any questions or need detailed tips, just ask the owners. The owner is incredibly kind. It's also worth mentioning the cleanliness of the guesthouse rooms – absolutely spotless, not even a water stain, which really amazed me. It's truly impeccable 👍. You can confidently book without a second thought. Plus, all the restaurants the owner recommended were fantastic, no misses at all. Every place was a classic, a long-standing favorite. As an out-of-town guest, I honestly surprised even the shop owners by finding every hidden gem based on the owner's recommendations. The markets the owner suggested, like the Bed Sheet Factory and the March Street, were also very interesting. Every stall was overflowing with goods, and I truly felt the authentic, simple local customs. I am genuinely so thankful to the guesthouse owners, and I will definitely be back next time!!! 😏

GGuest UserI stayed at Chunri Homestay for several days during the Chinese New Year. The owners are incredibly kind and thoughtful! They not only gave us a detailed travel itinerary but also carefully recommended delicious and affordable restaurants nearby. They even took us to Wuwu Temple for a vegetarian meal. The guesthouse rooms are decorated with a lot of character, and the surroundings are beautiful. The most important thing, though, is the human touch – the owner's wife made us tea, and the owner picked us up in his car. Plus, we could ride free electric scooters around every day, which was a lot of fun! I absolutely have to recommend this place, and I'll definitely be back!

GGuest UserI booked two nights next to the ancient city of Dali. After staying there for one night, my kids said it was not fun just to walk around. I canceled the reservation at midnight and booked a hotel at Time Inn next to the ancient city. After arriving, I felt that both kids were very satisfied. The courtyard is very beautiful and warm, and the boss sister is very enthusiastic (their family came here from their hometown in Chongqing to play here before, but they couldn't take care of it and so they ended up living here permanently). We originally only booked it for one night, but the kids didn't have enough fun and stayed here for two days in a row. ! The eldest brother likes to eat the dinner cooked by the boss very much, it is delicious! (He had a bit of a problem with his mouth, but he said it tasted delicious. It must be better than what I made😋) About 100 meters away is Erhai Lake. We went cycling as soon as we arrived. I accidentally broke my knee, and the boss bought me iodine and povidone. He took anti-inflammatory ***** and enthusiastically took my two children to play on the beach. I was very touched! On the third day today, after having dinner with my sister's family, we rode the boss's tricycle to go for a walk on the Erhai Lake. Bashi's board! In the future, when we come to Erhai Lake, we will still book at my sister’s house. It’s very comfortable! (The tricycle is owned by the owner, so you don’t need to pay for it.) All kinds of travel ladies will arrange a comfortable one for us. We must give it a big thumbs up 👍

GGuest UserThe B&B was spotless and well-maintained with excellent facilities. The environment was beautiful, and the rooftop terrace offered stunning views of the Cangshan sunrise and sunset, overlooking the ancient city – truly delightful. The room was bathed in warm sunlight, and enjoying tea while gazing at the ancient city from the bay window was a real treat. The owners were incredibly kind, warm, and genuine, always ready to help with any request. They gave us practical tips and food recommendations that didn't disappoint. There's also a very friendly dog named Wangcai and two adorable cats. When we left, they even helped us with our checked luggage, showing genuine care for their guests. I'll definitely recommend this place to friends and will choose it again if I ever return. I'm currently in a Lijiang B&B, unable to sleep, and the contrast makes me miss that place even more – it had a special kind of warmth.

MmandypandaView from the accoms is unbeatable and amazing. The rooms were big and comfortable. Staff were very receptive to our queries and very helpful. We were able to arrange for a driver and also transport to the train station via the staff. The rooms were on the 2nd and 4th floor so heavy luggages were a little challenging but the staff were always helpful with that.
The quieter location along the lake was very enjoyable. There are some cafes, restaurants, convenient store just a short walk away but the area is generally still less busy as compared to the popular S-bend (S 弯). But that means the location was a less convenient for ride hailing and further away from attractions. Something to consider when travelling out of the accoms.

MM2cfmi0xv****The room was absolutely gorgeous! I booked a high-floor ocean view room with unobstructed views. The room was very comfortable. I booked this place because I needed to catch the high-speed train. It's less than 2 kilometers from the train station, so taxis are very convenient. There are also many places to eat; a food street is just 400 meters away with a wide variety of choices. The receptionist was incredibly welcoming and gave us complimentary welcome snacks and Dali-style flower cakes. The breakfast rice noodles were also excellent and tasted delicious. There's a viewing platform upstairs with stunning views. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely stay here again next time.

GGuest UserWe rented the Garden Deluxe Room, with a mountain view. We find the description and pictures were accurately advertised, and the service was impeccable. We were very pleased with our rental, as it was private, clean and orderly. The hotel is conveniently located within the Dali Ancient Town, close to Biai Road and Renmin Road intersection (see picture of map). The morning and night views from the terrace were stunning. The Dali Ancient Town is as lively as you would imagine, with tons of food and shopping options. Our experience in Dali was awesome, with it's majestic mountains, beautiful lake, vibrant towns and peaceful villages.
However, the best part of this stay was our interactions with the hotel owners, who are a lovely couple. They are good people - very kind, helpful and approachable. Although we had to use an English to Mandarin translation app for most of our conversations, they were patient and made recommendations that we really enjoyed. They helped us book a tour of Erhai Lake and we had a wonderful time sightseeing with the bus tour company (highly recommended if you don't know where to start exploring). We also took their scooter bike to explore the Three Pagodas on our own and drove around the lake afterwards. Please consider renting their scooter bike, as it was super fun and the price is very affordable. As language is a barrier for us, they not only helped us book our ride to Lijiang, but they also gave us a hotel recommendation, which their son runs. To us, they are very trustworthy, so we're sure we will have another pleasant stay in Lijiang.
After all, it's not how clean the hotel is, or how beautiful the surroundings are, it's the people we meet along the way that makes it a wonderul trip experience. If there is another hotel rating for overall hotel experience, it would be a 10/5 for us. The owners definitely made our short stay very comfortable and our adventures amazing - thank you so much! We would definitely come back to this hotel if we are in this area again!

The house is beautiful, well decorated, clean and quiet.
The location is also super good (everything in town is walkable from here).
The owner is just a lovely guy, super friendly, chill, happy to help you and to share some good moments with you (despite the language barrier, but it worked well with a translator).
We met some of the owner's friends and we shared so much time all together, everyone was so welcoming with us, one of the best memory of our travel.
Thanks again for all, we'll come back for sure ! ❤️🍺

GGuest UserFirst and foremost, this is budget stay. We paid sgd70 for two days for an accommodation that is right in the ctr of the ancient town! This is really good deal. They provide toothbrushes, with toothpaste and comb. The room comes with toilet and shower, with shampoo and body wash! The beds come with electric blankets. It’s complete! Although building is run down, it retains the charm of a 150 years old building. So if you don’t mind the rundownese of the place, and you are after cultural ancient charm, this is the place for you.
