PPohli94Yuezhu Yishan Homestay is one of the best family-friendly place we’ve stayed in Dali. The rooms were cozy and well-maintained, seperated into 2 different bedrooms and suitable for 6 adults. The owner and staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, helping us on our luggages and gave us free fruits. The homestay also had a convenient self-service laundry room, which was really useful during our family trip. Will definitely come back for our next family holiday!

QQing YunMy stay here is exceptionally satisfactory because of the services. The owners are a couple with a cute daughter. They are very supportive. My bus from Kunming to Dali reached the hotel at 1am. They were staying awake to keep us updated on the route and the husband rode a escooter to take me to the noodle store to buy food at 2am. Very heart melting. Although we are foreigners and not familiar with China, he patiently supported us whenever we asked. 💖
There are free pastry and fruits at the courtyard so that you can sit there to enjoy a chill rest.
When we checkout, he gave us some souvenirs as a gift, and help to carry our luggage to the taxi location.
So sweet ☺️
Considering the room, very clean and smart and compact. The bed is super large and comfortable.
Regarding the location, as I observe in Dali Ancient Town, most of them are not accessible by car as they are located in small alleys, which requires a bit walk to reach the street. But no need to worry about the luggage, the hotel will support with all their hearts. 🥰

SSam AussiOur stay at this mini hotel near Erhai Lake was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. The hospitality was outstanding, with the owner and their friends and family creating a beautiful evening gathering that we will never forget. The delicious noodles, fruits and the morning Pu'er tea were delightful touches that added to the overall experience.
The hotel itself is new and beautifully designed, blending modern amenities with the rich traditions of a courtyard setting. The rooms were immaculate, superbly clean, and very comfortable, equipped with everything a traveler could need. They even helped us park our car nearby, which was very convenient.
The star of it all was the wonderful lady owner. She was always ready to jump up and help with whatever we needed. We don't speak Chinese, but communication was easy using online translation. In the morning owner took us for a walk near Erhai Lake, which was a memorable highlight of our stay.
The location of the hotel is perfect, situated between the rice fields and the lake shore, just a one-minute walk to the boardwalk along the lake. We left feeling amazed and recharged, and we sincerely hope that our travels will bring us back to this wonderful hotel near Dali ancient city again.

MM463099****The luckiest thing about my trip to Dali was choosing this guesthouse. I stayed for 4 days, and the owner's service was impeccable from before check-in until I left. Not only did he send a detailed guide and navigation in advance, but he also personally went to the bus station to help us with our luggage and explained routes using his self-made map. It felt like having a local friend. The room was super spacious, with views of Erhai Lake, and was decorated cleanly and cozily. The bedding was also very comfortable. The guesthouse, both inside and out, was meticulously maintained. Right at the entrance, there's a book wall, which is a great photo op. The location is also excellent, only a ten-minute walk from the city center, making it convenient for dining and shopping. All in all, it was a perfect stay, and I highly recommend it!

GGuest UserAbsolutely thrilled with our stay! My child attended a summer camp nearby, and we stayed at this B&B for a week. The owner has an electric scooter, which made dropping off and picking up my child for camp incredibly convenient every day. Plenty of local eateries close by meant all three meals were a breeze. Wuweisi Temple is not far from the B&B, and it's only a ten-to-fifteen-minute ride to Cangshan Cloud Grassland and Erhai Lake.
The room was incredibly spacious, featuring a large bathtub, which was perfect for a relaxing soak after the kids returned from camp.
The view was absolutely stunning. From the room, you could see both Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, and working from the bay window every day was a real pleasure.
The soundproofing was also excellent. Usually, when I stay at B&Bs in towns or villages, I worry about traffic noise, but the soundproofing here was superb. Apart from the garbage truck cheerfully singing its way past downstairs at 8:30 AM, you couldn't hear any neighbor's voices or other car sounds from the room.
The small courtyard was beautiful, and the owner has a friendly little dog named Zaizai who was very fond of the children.

GGuest UserI really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The front desk manager was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Although the entrance to the hotel is not as inviting as other hotels, the room itself was very nice. It had all the amenities I would expect, including really nice (seemingly local) loose leaf tea to brew. The wifi was very strong and stable and easy to set up. I also appreciate that the shower had high pressure and hot water. The bed was comfortable too... with the kind of firm mattress that I prefer.
I should note that the location of the hotel is in the modern part of Dali, which is about a 30 minute taxi ride from the old Dali town. If you really want to be close to the Old Town or have picturesque views of the lake, then you should probably choose a different hotel. But what I like about this hotel's location is that it's very near to the train station (I walked from the train station to the hotel with all of my suitcases in about 10-15 minutes; no problem). The hotel is also only about 10-15 walk from the lake, so if you intend to ride a bike around the lake then you can rent a bike near the hotel or near the lake park and then find your route from there. Also, there is a variety of good, affordable restaurants to choose from in the neighborhoods around the hotel, with better prices compared to the touristy restaurants in Old Dali. All in all, I found this hotel to be a good value.

The house is beautiful, well decorated, clean and quiet.
The location is also super good (everything in town is walkable from here).
The owner is just a lovely guy, super friendly, chill, happy to help you and to share some good moments with you (despite the language barrier, but it worked well with a translator).
We met some of the owner's friends and we shared so much time all together, everyone was so welcoming with us, one of the best memory of our travel.

SSongfengyuBecause the kids were quite satisfied with the sea view, we stayed in the original room for another night. Opposite the window is Erhai Lake. This location is at the lower end of Erhai Lake, with Haixi on the left and Haidong on the right. The nearby attractions are Erhai Park and Xingsheng Bridge. The hotel is located at the foot of Tuanshan Mountain, next to the hiking trail. There are mountain tea gardens to visit, as well as outdoor coffee travel photography bases. 200 meters to the left of the hotel and then turn left is the food street, with many Bai ethnic minority private dishes and barbecue hot pot restaurants, there is always one suitable for you.

GGuest UserWe rented the Garden Deluxe Room, with a mountain view. We find the description and pictures were accurately advertised, and the service was impeccable. We were very pleased with our rental, as it was private, clean and orderly. The hotel is conveniently located within the Dali Ancient Town, close to Biai Road and Renmin Road intersection (see picture of map). The morning and night views from the terrace were stunning. The Dali Ancient Town is as lively as you would imagine, with tons of food and shopping options. Our experience in Dali was awesome, with it's majestic mountains, beautiful lake, vibrant towns and peaceful villages.
However, the best part of this stay was our interactions with the hotel owners, who are a lovely couple. They are good people - very kind, helpful and approachable. Although we had to use an English to Mandarin translation app for most of our conversations, they were patient and made recommendations that we really enjoyed. They helped us book a tour of Erhai Lake and we had a wonderful time sightseeing with the bus tour company (highly recommended if you don't know where to start exploring). We also took their scooter bike to explore the Three Pagodas on our own and drove around the lake afterwards. Please consider renting their scooter bike, as it was super fun and the price is very affordable. As language is a barrier for us, they not only helped us book our ride to Lijiang, but they also gave us a hotel recommendation, which their son runs. To us, they are very trustworthy, so we're sure we will have another pleasant stay in Lijiang.
After all, it's not how clean the hotel is, or how beautiful the surroundings are, it's the people we meet along the way that makes it a wonderul trip experience. If there is another hotel rating for overall hotel experience, it would be a 10/5 for us. The owners definitely made our short stay very comfortable and our adventures amazing - thank you so much! We would definitely come back to this hotel if we are in this area again!

YYiyi1013This place might be okay for younger guests, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it for families with children. The room was damp and lacked a proper windowsill. Shockingly, the bathroom didn't even have a door, and the shower water temperature was inconsistent. As for cleanliness, I won't even comment. The owner seemed quite hands-off, and to top it all off, there were bugs at night. Definitely not suitable for a family vacation, that's all I can say.
On the other hand, for young people, it could be quite suitable, offering a strong youth hostel atmosphere. However, if you prioritize hygiene and attention to detail, then this isn't the place for you.
