3-Star Hotels in Dali City

This hotel experience was absolutely fantastic, five stars! It's very close to Erhai Airport and offers a free pick-up service, making transportation super convenient. The hotel boasts stunning views; you can admire the beautiful Erhai Lake right from your room. The service is incredibly attentive, with staff who are warm and thoughtful. The biggest surprise was the dining: the homemade breakfast was prepared with great care, the afternoon tea was exquisite, and they thoughtfully provided complimentary fruit and cake, all of which tasted excellent. Room service was also very prompt, making for a truly comfortable stay. In summary, the environment, service, and dining are all impeccable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dali, and I will definitely choose to stay here again next time!

We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Dali and had an outstanding experience - a solid 10/10. The hotel is worth every cent spent and even more. Cleanliness: The room was spotless from the moment we checked in - fresh linens, an immaculate bathroom with everything provided (the cosmetics were of a very high quality). It was clear the housekeeping team takes real pride in their daily work. Staff: A special mention for the hotel team: everyone (from reception to kitchen staff) was super polite, attentive, and consistently helpful, whether we needed directions or had a question at the front desk. Checkin and checkout super quick and seemless. This level of service is genuinely hard to find even in hotels with more stars. Location: A huge plus is that the hotel sits away from the noise and crowds of Dali’s Old Town, so evenings and nights were quiet and peaceful, while the main sights were still easy to reach (15 min of enjoyable walk through busy and authentic streets). The location looks very “luxury” as well (see photos). Breakfast: standard buffet where you still can find healthy options. Tea, coffee and cookies all day at the reception. Overall, this hotel is perfect for travelers who want a peaceful retreat without losing easy access to the city’s highlights. Highly recommended!

This hotel offers a quiet retreat while still being conveniently located. It's not right inside the ancient town but is very accessible, making both travel and parking easy. The ancient town is just across the street, which is great for those driving. We chose this B&B because we were drawn to its decor – simple yet tasteful. You can tell the owner paid great attention to every small detail. The room decor and bedding exceeded typical B&B standards. We later found out it's part of the same group as the Manxin Mansion Hotel next door, and guests share amenities like the swimming pool, hot spring baths, and gym. The breakfast was a real highlight! It had a wide variety of options suitable for all ages, and the ingredients were very fresh. It was easily the most enjoyable breakfast we had on this trip. Kudos to the owner for their generosity and excellent taste! The most precious part of this trip was having a wonderful chat with the proprietress; it felt like we had known each other forever. Looking forward to seeing her again!

The hotel offers a fantastic view, especially from the rooftop common area where you can see the beautiful Erhai Lake – perfect for photos. The owner is incredibly thoughtful; they offer a pick-up service, and even reimbursed our taxi fare when we arrived. On the second morning, they brought breakfast directly to our room at 10 AM since we hadn't gotten up yet. We enjoyed breakfast in the room while watching squirrels hopping outside – the environment is truly wonderful. The owner also runs a tea business and even gave us some tea as a souvenir when we left. They truly made us feel at home.

We initially only had 3 days visiting Dali, but rarely does a hotel ever influence me in staying longer in a particular city. Dont get me wrong, Dali is VERY BEAUTIFUL. Its got enough offerings for it to convince me to stay longer. But since this is a review of this hotel, I will keep it that way. For starters, the staff: there are 3 whom we've had the pleasure of meeting 1.) The front desk/lobby gentleman who is very accommodating and knowledgeable. He made sure we were happy with everything and even offered to give my party of 5 credits for our ”didi” rides, one of China's largest ride share. 2.) The young lady housekeeper/tea/greeter/everything, she will provide you with all the necessities you may require. Disposable towels it works, give it a shot before knocking it, bottled water, soap, laundry detergent, anything. She also has the sweetest personality and although I didn't speak Mandarin all too well, we somehow understood each other. Shes simply amazing. 3.) The owner, she is a person of faith. If she senses anything wrong with you, she wont hesitate to offer medicine and food free of charge to make you feel better. All of the above 3 staff rescued my mom in law when she felt unwell due to altitude sickness. Oxygen bottles were ready at 18rmb each, they even offered to try it first to see if it works before paying. It just goes to show the lengths they are willing to go to ensure their guests are well taken care of. Now for the hotel: I might have to copy and paste this review because I actually booked 2 rooms. One for my family and another for my inlaws. I booked the largest two bedroom with bunk bed and really tall ceilings equipped with a living room, and another was a panoramic view of both Cangshan mountain and Erhai lake on the 3rd floor corner. I forgot what it was called but the place was dreamy and well equipped. Not to mention all rooms were decked out with ZEN like decorations beyond compare. How can I say this in the best way possible... The location isnt the closest to the ancient city, meaning you cant walk it, but didi is quite affordable that this did not matter to us. The school bells and songs that play during specific hours are oddly satisfying and did not cause any disturbance. Cars will be cars, especially in China, so wherever you stay, hearing horns here and there is inevitable. But the windows, curtains and walls are great for sound absorption. Combined with the beauty and serene touches this place had to offer like the koi pond, zen garden, traditional pagoda and courtyard aesthetics, along with the decor of each room that surpassed my expectations, I cancelled a more expensive hotel to stay here with the intent of trying only for a night and moving to another. With the cherry on top being served by the most humble staff, our 3 nights in Dali became 5 nights. The distance to each attraction was never an issue thanks to the affordability of ride share programs in China. Being slightly away from the busy areas, we were welcomed with peace, quiet, and a community like vibe. We walked the back streets, visited a Buddhist temple about 5 minutes away, and dined at actual local restaurants. The vacation became an eye opener, especially for a westerner like myself. My family and I, even though we still have 2 nights left, already look forward to our next trip to Dali. And when that time comes, this place will be where we stay without hesitation. I cancel a lot of hotel bookings because they rarely match what is shown on the app. You know that feeling. But this place, we were brought here for a reason. My family loves this place. And to the staff, thank you for welcoming us and making us feel comfortable. Dali, into the awakening place. What a beautiful and appropriate name for such a place of tranquility and hospitality.

The room was very clean, the environment was great, and it was pretty soundproof. The front desk lady was also very nice and even gave us extra breakfast. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay. You can see the sunset from the balcony in the evening, and it was very convenient to wash and dry clothes. The scenery in Dali is also beautiful.

Everything else was fine, but the soundproofing was terrible. There was a chorus of frogs outside the window, and even with the windows tightly shut, the noise was still very loud. I couldn't sleep all night, and my child was restless too. I could clearly hear people walking and talking loudly on the stairs. The slightest noise would wake my child up. The soundproofing is truly incomprehensible. Secondly, the mosquito bites were horrendous. Even with an electric mosquito repellent on, it didn't help much. All the bites were big, painful welts. My child's face was swollen beyond recognition, and there were several large, itchy bumps on their feet. When they scratched, it felt like the swelling spread even further, it was so painful.

Returning to Dali from Jizu Mountain, I temporarily chose to stay at Jinsuo Island. I have been to Dali many times, and this is my first time on the island. This hotel is indeed the most satisfactory one. The room has an unbeatable sea view. You can see the sea and the sunrise while lying on the bed. The facilities are very smart and the hygiene is also very clean. Super cost-effective! The breakfast in the sea view restaurant is also a little surprise.

My stay was exceptionally good. The place is very clean and elegant, and both the garden and the rooms are beautiful. The owner is incredibly warm and attentive, answering all my travel guide questions perfectly. The service was comprehensive! The environment is stunning, and my stay felt very cozy. There are also many coffee shops nearby to check out, and taking a stroll in the ancient city right outside is lovely. The owner generously shared her delicious food with guests. Her breakfast is fantastic, especially the rice noodles which are absolutely incredible, and the coffee is super good too! When I was there, guests came from all over, and everyone was so friendly. I even made new friends, new international friends! I plan to stay here every time I visit Dali!

You can watch the sunrise, sunset, and birds from the bed, and the views are absolutely stunning. It's not as noisy as other popular tourist spots. The suite has two bathrooms, and there's also a bathtub with a disposable liner for soaking. The mattress is super comfortable too. The only minor drawback is that the toilet is a bit basic and occasionally has drainage issues. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
