11363128****I made a last-minute decision to travel solo and hastily booked an Airbnb near the airport the night before. It ended up exceeding all my expectations!
First, the Airbnb offers airport pickup service, so I was able to get straight into the car upon landing and head directly to the accommodation. The room decor was cozy and charming, and having a bathtub really helped wash away the fatigue of the journey. The host was incredibly welcoming; when I overslept, they even made sure to call me down for breakfast. They also packed some delicious flower cookies for me to take on my way, setting a perfect mood for the first day of my trip!
The view from the rooftop is also fantastic!

MM392595****I booked two nights next to the ancient city of Dali. After staying there for one night, my kids said it was not fun just to walk around. I canceled the reservation at midnight and booked a hotel at Time Inn next to the ancient city. After arriving, I felt that both kids were very satisfied. The courtyard is very beautiful and warm, and the boss sister is very enthusiastic (their family came here from their hometown in Chongqing to play here before, but they couldn't take care of it and so they ended up living here permanently). We originally only booked it for one night, but the kids didn't have enough fun and stayed here for two days in a row. ! The eldest brother likes to eat the dinner cooked by the boss very much, it is delicious! (He had a bit of a problem with his mouth, but he said it tasted delicious. It must be better than what I made😋) About 100 meters away is Erhai Lake. We went cycling as soon as we arrived. I accidentally broke my knee, and the boss bought me iodine and povidone. He took anti-inflammatory ***** and enthusiastically took my two children to play on the beach. I was very touched! On the third day today, after having dinner with my sister's family, we rode the boss's tricycle to go for a walk on the Erhai Lake. Bashi's board! In the future, when we come to Erhai Lake, we will still book at my sister’s house. It’s very comfortable! (The tricycle is owned by the owner, so you don’t need to pay for it.) All kinds of travel ladies will arrange a comfortable one for us. We must give it a big thumbs up 👍

MM471470****This guesthouse is absolutely amazing! I just had to write a glowing review! The location is perfect! It's only a five or six-minute walk from the South Gate of the Ancient City. Since we visited during the off-peak season, getting a taxi was super easy and quick. The service was incredibly thoughtful! We originally booked a standard room, but since there was availability, they upgraded us for free. The room facilities were very new, and the decor was simple yet comfortable. The staff even helped us bring our luggage to the room. From the guesthouse's rooftop, you can see the distant Cangshan Mountains, a corner of the Three Pagodas, and traditional local houses, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Staying here in Dali truly maximized our experience. We'll definitely choose this place again next time!

BBaiii-TThe courtyard is lovely, and the location is excellent, right inside the ancient city with plenty of restaurants and small bars nearby. The owner is also very welcoming; they helped us take free photos in the courtyard, proactively offered us travel tips, and even assisted us with booking a private car. They were incredibly patient and genuinely kind. The cleaning lady was also very friendly. Overall, a fantastic stay!

GGuest UserAbsolutely thrilled with our stay! My child attended a summer camp nearby, and we stayed at this B&B for a week. The owner has an electric scooter, which made dropping off and picking up my child for camp incredibly convenient every day. Plenty of local eateries close by meant all three meals were a breeze. Wuweisi Temple is not far from the B&B, and it's only a ten-to-fifteen-minute ride to Cangshan Cloud Grassland and Erhai Lake.
The room was incredibly spacious, featuring a large bathtub, which was perfect for a relaxing soak after the kids returned from camp.
The view was absolutely stunning. From the room, you could see both Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, and working from the bay window every day was a real pleasure.
The soundproofing was also excellent. Usually, when I stay at B&Bs in towns or villages, I worry about traffic noise, but the soundproofing here was superb. Apart from the garbage truck cheerfully singing its way past downstairs at 8:30 AM, you couldn't hear any neighbor's voices or other car sounds from the room.
The small courtyard was beautiful, and the owner has a friendly little dog named Zaizai who was very fond of the children.

GGuest UserRoom was big and spacious, and as pictured. Loved the huge window that looked out into the courtyard. The place is also stylishly done up and looks quite new, there's a tearoom where you can try all sorts of tea. Was positively surprised by the complimentary afternoon tea served - one big platter of fruits and baba!
However there's one thing I didn't like and hence I won't recommend this place - if you don't like hard beds, this place won't be suitable for you. Found the bed extremely hard, so hard that when I first sat on it I thought I was sitting on a wooden plank. I even flipped over the bed sheet just to check there was a mattress underneath, there was, it's just super duper hard. Never seen a mattress this hard before, I wouldn't even call it a mattress lol. And they put a fairly thick topper on top of it, and it was still uncomfortable. I happened to be alone so I took the duvet from the other bed, folded it into half to make it thicker and slept on it. Was slightly better but still, not a great sleeping experience. It's unfortunate because otherwise, I quite liked the place. Oh and location wise, it's also a distance from the main town centre (20 mins), which can be a little eery when you walk back at night in the dark. The good thing is its near the fields but yeah, away from the main streets in the town.

EeidorianyeoI had a fantastic stay at Buxianshan Guesthouse. Although the location was slightly difficult to find due to ongoing construction in the area, it’s conveniently within walking distance to the ancient town, which made exploring easy. The cleanliness of the guesthouse was impeccable, and the facilities were excellent, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The service was outstanding throughout our visit. The housekeepers were extremely friendly, thoughtful, and always eager to help, which made us feel right at home. I highly recommend Buxianshan Guesthouse for anyone visiting the area!

The place itself had a wonderful ambiance, and I absolutely loved it. It was such a comfortable and pleasant stay, which truly made my trip even more enjoyable. I'll definitely be back!

MM342572****Location: Just across the road from Xiaguan Cruise Terminal. Although it's not within the scenic areas of Haidong or Haixi, you can get a distant view of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. The sea view from the master bedroom and living room is absolutely stunning! Even though the weather wasn't great, the rainy Erhai Lake had a unique charm. Sitting on the tatami, sipping coffee, and enjoying the sea view made me feel completely relaxed! A truly wonderful stay. [Happy]

SSoloTravelAnnaI recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming hostel in the female dorm. While the dorm room didn’t have AC, it was comfortable and well-maintained. The shared bathroom was clean, featuring a typical wet room setup. The owners were incredibly nice and helpful, always ready to assist, and their excellent English made communication a breeze. It's great to know that the family lives on-site, adding a warm, homey feel to the place.
One convenient feature is the washing machine available for a small fee, although I opted not to use it during my stay. Breakfast is offered, but remember to place your order the night before to ensure you get what you want!
The location is quite handy, being close to the city center. Just a heads up, crossing the busy road can be a bit tricky, so take care. There are plenty of western food options nearby, which is a nice bonus if you're craving something familiar.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a friendly and welcoming place to stay.
