The decor and design were fantastic. The renovation of the historic building is quite unique, and the courtyard is breathtaking.
The housekeeping service was excellent, and any requests were promptly addressed.
The breakfast was also delicious, featuring some unique dishes.
I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yunnan.

Kind hospitality of the best team in Anyu, the twinkling eyes of Claire if not mistaken her name always in beaming smile and Eveready to serve, KK was equally helpful as well as few others female staff. we truly enjoyed ourselves with the matrons of the house!
Not only they were helpful, they knew their competitors well when i enquired their assistance to make reservations for me in Daji and Sisan.
These few girls represent Anyu ambassadors, deserve accolades! Anyu a hidden gem, we will be back!
Our experiences in Anyu Dali leads us to explore and view Anyu Lijiang where we will stays on our next visit. keep up the good work, Anyu we trust!

It's right by Erhai Lake, and during sunset 🌇, the whole room had such a wonderful ambiance. The room was also fully equipped with everything we needed, like a fridge, capsule coffee machine, and speaker. Plus, we had 24-hour butler service, which made it all so worthwhile.

GGuest User1. The room decor and amenities (including hygiene and toiletries) are all up to 5-star hotel standards. The hotel's location is also excellent, making it convenient to get to the airport, high-speed rail, and major attractions. There are many restaurants downstairs.
2. The balcony offers stunning views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets. It even has a swing, ideal for enjoying tea and relaxing.
3. The hotel butler service is very attentive and responds quickly to any issues. They provide complimentary airport transfers and even free hotel shuttle services to attractions.
4. There's a complimentary late-night snack every day, and rice noodles are available all day. The fridge is stocked with various beverages, and the room comes with a tea set, tea table, and coffee machine. A basket of fresh fruit is provided daily – more than you can possibly eat!
5. Upon departure, we received complimentary local specialty flower cakes and tea, adding to the pleasant surprises.
6. This hotel is very suitable for family vacations. We hope to visit again in the future.

GGuest UserThis hotel is absolutely fantastic in terms of its location, room facilities, cleanliness, and service. It's directly facing Cangshan Mountain, with Erhai Lake behind it. We were able to watch the sunrise over Erhai Lake from our room in the mornings. On the ground floor, there's a lovely little bunny garden and a mini botanical garden, both meticulously maintained. The staff are incredibly attentive, offering personalized butler-style service that feels very welcoming and takes care of every little detail. Right next to the hotel is that famous斜坡 (sloping road) that's a popular photo spot, and we enjoyed taking pictures there after breakfast when it wasn't crowded. The room was super clean, equipped with Pu'er tea and a tea set, and even a humidifier. The bathroom was spotless with a separate wet and dry area – the hotel really thought of everything! My daughter said she'd definitely stay here again next time.

GGuest UserThe top choice for a family stay! The Joy Bay Villa is perfect for families. The space is spacious and bright, and the sea view is absolutely fantastic. The kids especially loved the huge projector. Most importantly, the service was incredibly thoughtful, from luggage assistance to daily cleaning, making the whole stay hassle-free. The surrounding environment is quiet, which is great for kids to rest. It offers excellent value for money, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Dali!

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic.
2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements.
3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well.
4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄
5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing.
6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it.
7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression.
8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job.
9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2).
10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room!
11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around?
I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

the sea-view soaking tubs, the retro French-style corridors, the South France castle, the exotic Moroccan courtyard – everywhere is perfect for snapping pictures. I took so many beautiful photos, I'm thrilled!
I especially want to commend the service: airport transfers, help with luggage, afternoon tea, goodnight desserts, breakfast, and a dedicated private butler service group. The attention to detail was impeccable, and they were always ready to assist! My dress for photos got dirty dragging on the ground, and they even helped me wash and dry it. All the hotel staff were so warm; I truly felt like a VIP.

GGuest UserAkathitya Boutique Hotel really impressed me! The room was spotless and bright. The restaurant food was also excellent with a wide variety of dishes and beautiful presentation. The ambiance was lovely too. What truly stood out was their amazing service; they contacted us in advance to arrange pick-up and drop-off, constantly checked in on our needs, and even helped us with our luggage to the room – truly wonderful, I give them a big thumbs up! I've already recommended it to all my friends and will definitely be back!
