GGukeqiaodaifuCompared to Sanya, Lijiang falls short for family-friendly travel, still primarily catering to a younger demographic. The Dream Butterfly Manor is no exception, but this hotel still managed to create a poetic and tranquil living experience. The scenery is beautiful, offering distant views of the snow-capped Cangshan mountains and the Three Pagodas. The breakfast even included rose petals, and the service attitude was exceptional. The young man who greeted us upon check-in was very enthusiastic, and when we checked out, the tall lady at the front desk stood at the door for a long time, waving us goodbye. I haven't stayed in top-tier luxury hotels, but I haven't encountered such service in the many years I've stayed in five-star hotels across the country. All in all, this is the most satisfying hotel I've stayed in, and I will definitely come back for a longer stay next time.

BBudingyiyThis hotel is nestled at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, offering convenient transportation and a plethora of dining options. Right outside, to the right, you'll find the snack street of Dali University and a whole street dedicated to halal cuisine, so there's plenty to explore. The scenery is beautiful too; from the courtyard, you can look up and see the stunning snow-capped mountains. If you're lucky, you might even catch the 'golden mountain in the sunrise' phenomenon. At night, there's a whole sky full of stars to admire, and the courtyard is filled with adorable succulents that are incredibly therapeutic. In the mornings, you can bask in the sun – it's incredibly comfortable. The hotel butler service is top-notch; they're always on call, promptly addressing any needs, and even reaching out in advance, which really puts your mind at ease. A special shout-out to our butler, Qiyue, who truly made us feel at home during our stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Dali.

YYuermamaguangchiguangchiLife's B&B in Dali, where I wish I could stay for another month! Seriously, who understands this feeling?! I found this hidden gem of a B&B by Erhai Lake, and it just maxed out the romantic vacation vibes ✨. Stepping through the door, you're greeted by a blue and white building directly facing Erhai Lake. The must-try overwater swing is absolutely incredible; swaying over the sparkling waters of Erhai, you can even catch the Tyndall effect at sunset, with circling seagulls creating stunning, atmospheric shots 📸. The stay experience was simply divine! The entire room features a smart home system and a Harman Kardon sound system. The private hot tub room allows you to bathe while enjoying the sea view. The daily six-grid breakfast is exquisite and filling, and before bed, they even bring you white fungus soup. Even if you don't have a car, they offer free shuttle service. The staff also help push the swing and lend out fairy dresses for beautiful photos – their thoughtfulness is just over the top 🥰. ⏰ Best photo time: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, when the sunset dyes the sea an incredibly healing orange. 💡 Tips: You can feed seagulls in winter. Bring a star filter to capture the sparkling water even better. I absolutely must praise this: the B&B provides FREE cookies for feeding seagulls. My child fed almost half a box, and the front desk lady just told him to take a half-hour break, have some afternoon tea, and then come back for more. So much love ❤️. Every day here, life just slows down. Watching the sunrise kiss Erhai awake, listening to the evening breeze rustle through the flowers – this is truly the right way to experience Dali! #Dali #ErhaiLake #B&B #Vacation #Travel #Sunset

ZZhuozhuangchengzhangdeguziThe room was as excellent as ever. Having just come from a fantastic stay at Anyu Hotel in Lijiang, I had no hesitation in choosing Anyu again for my visit to Dali. Dali Anyu is nestled within the ancient city, offering convenient access to transportation. The entire hotel beautifully captures the essence of Dali, providing a serene, welcoming, and high-end atmosphere. Though not large, this charming three-story wooden hotel exudes a strong retro and ethnic vibe. Staying here felt incredibly peaceful, immediately shielding us from the ancient city's hustle and bustle. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Upon my arrival, I initially had trouble finding the entrance, but a staff member promptly came out to greet me, helped carry my luggage directly to the room, and even presented a lovely welcome tea ceremony. Every member of the Anyu team, from the dedicated butler to the general service staff, greeted us with warm smiles and soft-spoken kindness. Their hospitality made us feel truly cherished, as if we were guests in our own home. Inside the room, the amenities had a charming retro design, complemented by high-end, incredibly comfortable bedding that invited immediate sleep. The toiletries were top-notch, alongside a Dyson hairdryer, premium mineral water, and an exquisite laundry service. In the evenings, they thoughtfully provided Tremella soup, known for its calming properties. Every detail contributed to a truly warm and cozy stay. A charming, distinctive touch was the room key – a long-handled, retro-style key. Room cleanliness was impeccable, far surpassing similar hotels; even the smallest crevices in the bathroom were spotless. Another highlight was the afternoon tea and breakfast. They were truly bespoke, freshly prepared upon order – absolutely no pre-made dishes or buffet lines. Everything was served individually, featuring fresh, unique, high-quality, hygienic, and delicious ingredients. I was even delighted to find sea cucumber on the menu! Upon departure, all the Anyu staff came out to bid me a warm farewell – a truly wonderful and memorable gesture. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!

KKatherineliewtanWe stayed at Lishe seaview resort hotel for 2 nights. The hotel upgraded us to a two-room apartment which I did not expect! The apartment had spectacular view of Erhai in the living room and master bedroom. I had the foresight of having one free and easy day and we pretty much stayed in most of the time to soak in the view. The staff service was amazing. The team reached out to me via trip.com the day before we check in (fantastic initiative) as overseas visitors like me are not familiar with the WeChat usage. When we arrive, the staff were on standby to receive us and bring us to the apartment as we got there via our own driver. The hotel sent nightly desert (white fungus) to our apartment. One important aspect of the hotel is the delicious and wide spread of breakfast. The breaky was on the highest floor offering great views of Erhai, and the lady attendant there was polite, cheerful and has great service. When we checked, the hotel staff came to the apartment and send us to the car. They also presented a farewell bag of goodies - including rose Chinese cakes (which were super delicious!), tea and sweets. It was an awfully thoughtful gesture. I had the rose Chinese cake during breaky and loved them. So I was super happy to find them in the farewell gift. I would strongly recommend a stay here if you are in Dali. Fellow Singaporeans- you would love this place! I think even if I did not get the upgrade, I would have loved the view too. Just keep one day of doing nothing and enjoy the beautiful view and the hotel hospitality. The hotel staff were service oriented, always smiling, polite and helpful. I mean every staff we encountered, even the cleaning staff! This hotel was a great highlight of our Dali stay. I would definitely come back to stay at Lishe when next back to Dali.

MM475826****📍The hotel's location is a huge plus, right in the popular Wenbi Village. It's easy to find, and there's dedicated parking, so driving here is completely stress-free. 🛎️The butler proactively contacted us before check-in, and the service was incredibly thoughtful. We were celebrating a birthday during our trip to Yunnan, and after learning about it, the butler surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade. It was a really pleasant surprise. 🌊Opening the balcony door reveals Erhai Lake, and the scenery is so therapeutic. Every picture you take turns out beautifully. The hotel also offered a complimentary travel photography service, which yielded fantastic shots and made for a truly memorable experience. 🍳Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options. The hotel's own restaurant had reasonable prices, and the food was surprisingly good – no disappointments there at all. 💙Overall, the experience was incredibly comfortable. From the service to the views, everything exceeded our expectations. It's definitely on my 'would recommend to friends' list, and I'd consider staying here again on my next trip to Yunnan.

GGuest UserOne of the best hotel I've stayed in a while, is a family-run hotel which offers a magnificient view of the lake from the hill and they will provide free photoshoot (5 photos per room). Service from the staff was outstanding and very helpful. Will deinitely visit again if I had the chance. Keep in mind there is no parking in front of the premises and the roads are narrow, so do let the staff know when you are areiving, they will help with ur luggages.

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic. 2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements. 3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well. 4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄 5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing. 6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it. 7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression. 8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job. 9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2). 10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room! 11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around? I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

GGuest UserClouds Villa is absolutely incredible. After staying in the heart of Lijiang’s Ancient City, it was refreshing to be up in the mountains here—peaceful, scenic, and really fresh air—but still only about a 10-minute Didi ride into Dali Ancient Town when we wanted cobbled streets, fried cheese, rose cakes, and all the amazing food. We came here for our honeymoon and booked a hot spring villa, and to our surprise, we were upgraded to an even larger villa. The staff also surprised us with a bottle of red wine and a delicious cream cake—a really thoughtful touch that made our stay feel special. The hot spring itself was perfect. After a day of walking the Ancient City or biking around Erhai Lake, relaxing in the steaming water was heavenly. The villa’s private yard was beautifully designed and made for the perfect chill spot. The whole resort is landscaped with care—gardens, ponds, and mountain views everywhere you turn. The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied—plenty of choices to start the day right. It was all so nice that we extended our stay by a couple of days because we just didn’t want to leave. Another highlight is the location right next to the Chongsheng Temple complex. The temples are stunning and absolutely worth a visit, and at night you can even hear the bells ringing, which adds a magical vibe to the stay. All in all, Clouds Villa was everything we could have hoped for and more. I honestly wish I could live there forever.

11381145****We booked the Duchamp room this time, traveling with seniors and children. There's a corridor outside the balcony, and the room is on the first floor. Plus, there's a bar right next to the hotel with a live singer performing until past 11 PM. If you're sensitive to noise or need a quiet sleeping environment, I wouldn't recommend this room type. However, the scenery in Dali is absolutely stunning. As the saying goes, 'Cangshan is a masterpiece painted without ink, Erhai is an ancient zither played without strings,' truly unforgettable. Everything else was excellent, especially the butler service. They were very attentive and helped us resolve any issues we encountered. The afternoon tea and late-night sweet soup were also lovely. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and would definitely come back to experience the charm of Dali and immerse ourselves in the local culture again if we get the chance.
