2-Star Hotels in Jianchuan

The best stay on our Yunnan trip so far! It is right a the edge of a community of locals and very close to the Shaxi Ancient Town. A quick stroll along the river and you will arrive the Yujin Bridge. There is a yummy 三娘eatery nearby the homestay as well. The rooms have beautiful views of the surrounding fields, mountains and villages, as well as the beautiful courtyard of the owner’s home. Cute cat Nini is a huge bonus! Breakfast prepared by the owners was wonderfully hearty and tasty. The rooms themselves are very clean and cosy, well equipped with great modern 5 star amenities. They have a smart house system, heated toilet seats and even a tub. Even better than a lot of hotels. You get the best of both countryside environment and modern comforts. The owners are extremely friendly accommodating and helpful! We even got some gifts (dried persimmons and nuts from the owner’s own fields) from the owners before we left. Could not recommend more!

First, I chose this hotel because of its natural countryside scenery and the design of traditional Bai ethnic houses. Living in the ancient town is too noisy and overly commercial. This place is close to the ancient town, close to the lives of Bai villagers, and allows me to enjoy the breeze and scenery of the countryside. Second, there's a flat parking lot, which is very suitable for low-lying cars. Also, the owner is very kind and I have access to the kitchen, which is great for those who often eat out and sometimes want to cook. Time is limited this time, so I plan to stay for two weeks if possible.

The rooms are elegantly furnished and comfortable, and the bedding is of high quality, allowing you to sleep soundly. The courtyard of the B&B has a very good view. You can sit on the lazy sofa in the courtyard and quietly look at the blue sky and white clouds and relax, feeling peaceful and happy. The two beautiful owners of the B&B are very sincere and enthusiastic. They are the first choice for your next stay in Shaxi.

this stay was the highlight among the others in my Yunnan trip. the couple running this place is incredibly hospitable and kind despite the language barrier and communicating via translation apps. from my first interaction with the wife, I could sense the care she has for guests. she promptly noted my dietary requirement for Halal breakfast when checking in and provided very delicious, generous, and homely dishes on both mornings. at the same time, she made sure to sincerely apologize for some temporary construction noise in the building next to theirs (and informing me that it stops before evening) as well as offering me to take one of their electric bikes to explore the town. the husband was equally kind as a host: he provided me information about the new year's celebrations in town, arranged the electric bike for me to explore Shaxi when I asked and also made a tasty serving of coffee at breakfast. another highlight was witnessing the infectiously fun energy their little sons bring to the place during breakfast and although I only got the see them resting in their cage, there are also two cute cats living with them. overall, I had an absolutely pleasant stay here with top-notch facilities (heated toilet seat!), beautiful decor, and superb hosts!

First off, this guesthouse was really clean, and the room I randomly booked even had a small tea table. Secondly, the location is great. We initially chose it just to stay for a night because we wanted to visit Shaxi Ancient Town, but we unexpectedly met a really wonderful owner! In the evening, we couldn't get a taxi to the ancient town, so the guesthouse provided a car to take us there. Later, after we'd gone back to rest, the owner even messaged us to ask if we needed a ride back. Oh, and the guesthouse's own restaurant was also delicious; my sister and I had a fantastic lunch there.

This was an absolutely incredible experience. While this was pretty far outside of Shaxi, it was very close to the Shizhongzhwn grottos and Baoxiang temple. The village itself is ancient and very beautiful. There is a reservoir to walk around in and an amazing strawberry farm! The hotel itself was stunningly beautiful, with very comfortable, clean and modern. The owners cooked us a delicious dinner and breakfast that was too much food and so so tasty! We loved their cat and the hospitality was among the best I’ve ever had! Thank you so much! Would recommend 100% if you have a car! Note, we did not have a car and used a didi to get there. To get home, we asked the local coffee shop and they were also very welcome and accommodating. They asked a friend to drive us to see the grottos, temple, and then to Shaxi. He was very kind, friendly, and patient. We had an amazing time here!

The location is a little far, but the scenery in front of the B&B is very good, and the yard is also very good. You can sit in the yard at night to enjoy the breeze and look at the sky. There are street lights when you come back at night, so it doesn't matter. The main thing is that the owner is very good. Before checking in, he went to the B&B where I stayed before to help with the luggage. He also reminded me when the clothes were washed. One night I came back late, and I don't know if the owner was waiting for me. I saw that the yard lights were on and the door was open, so I felt very safe. Hahaha There is also a curtain at the door of the room, so I am not afraid of insects entering with the door open.

1. The house is located in an ancient town, with an all-wood structure, and a small bar downstairs. The rooms are clean and elegant, the bedding is soft and comfortable, the owner is warm and attentive, and the location is convenient. It was a truly healing retreat during my Yunnan trip – I was extremely satisfied! 2. The rustic wood design is simply delightful, the natural light is excellent, the views are great, and the details are full of thoughtful touches. It was a comfortable and relaxing stay, definitely worth revisiting! 3. Close to attractions, convenient transportation, complete facilities, and the owner's recommended local delicacies were incredibly authentic. This trip was made even more perfect by it! 4. A tranquil and comfortable haven, stylishly decorated without being perfunctory, impeccably clean, and with heartwarming service – a rare and reassuring place during my travels!

I had a fantastic trip there! The place is lovely, built all in wood, with plants and cats all around, and a nice rooftop with a view on the mountains. Everything is clean and it's very silent at night. But the best part came from the guests, I felt like in a family. Unlike my previous hostels in Yunnan, most guests could speak English, which helped feeling closer. A lot of people are staying there for weeks because of the great atmosphere. I stayed only two nights but felt sad to leave everyone.

I was warmly greeted by the owner upon arriving. The location is ideal as it’s right next to the bus stop and only a few mins walk to the old town. It’s also very quiet and tranquil. The room was very spacious, clean, and nicely decorated which gave it a very pleasant ambience. The bed was very cozy with thick blankets, comfortable pillow, and fresh sheets. It was well ventilated with two windows and one of them had good entrance of sunlight and view to the mountains. The room had 2 cushion chairs, a small table, TV, shelf to hang clothes, kettle, water bottles, and other amenities. The bathroom had soap, shampoo, conditioner, disposable towels, cups, toothbrushes, etc. The place is pretty much fully equipped and comfortable. I was provided free water bottles whenever needed and was also able to do my laundry. The owner was very kind, caring, and cheerful. I only stayed two nights and he waited for me at the reception to ensure that I was back safe in the nighttime. I’m a solo female traveler. The service is outstanding and they are willing to accommodate and provide you with anything you need. It’s one of the best places I’ve stayed at in all Asia so far.
