haitun0070-I'm absolutely captivated by October Glamping; a perfect 10, no hesitation!
**Ambiance:** The guesthouse's location is incredible, surrounded by charming pastoral scenery. The public areas are spacious and grand, with a coffee shop and tea room readily available. It's so peaceful to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, creating a wonderful atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxing getaway.
**Room Type:** The room I stayed in was truly stunning. The floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows offered an unobstructed view of the countryside. Waking up to a vista of green fields and mountains right outside my window was incredibly therapeutic.
**Cleanliness:** The entire place was spotless, with very high hygiene standards.
**Facilities:** The amenities are thoughtful and high-end, including branded bathroom fixtures, Harman Kardon speakers, and complete disposable towels and bath towels. It made for a comfortable and reassuring stay.
**Breakfast:** The breakfast was prepared with care, and the afternoon tea and coffee were exquisite and looked as good as they tasted.
Overall, both the service and the facilities are top-notch. If you want to enjoy a slow-paced, rustic experience in Shaxi, this is definitely the place to choose. Highly recommended!

I had a very pleasant stay at 沙溪归尘 and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Shaxi who is looking for a clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully run homestay.
Room & Facilities
The house is very clean and well maintained — everything feels new and well cared for. My room was cozy and comfortable, and the bed was especially nice, which helped me rest well. One thing I really appreciated was that the room even had a washing machine, which is a big plus for longer trips.
The garden is also lovely and adds to the calm, relaxed atmosphere of the place.
Breakfast & Thoughtful Touches
Breakfast was prepared by the owner, and the 米线 (mixian) was honestly the best I had during my entire Yunnan trip — comforting, well-balanced, and made with care. Before bedtime, the owner even brought us a warm glass of milk 🥛, which was such a thoughtful and heart-warming gesture.
Location & Morning Mist at 玉津桥
One important thing to note for travelers who plan to catch the morning mist or sunrise at 玉津桥: the homestay does not provide early-morning transfer services, only after 9:00am. The homestay is about 1.5km from 玉津桥, so it’s important to arrange your own transport in advance (for example, 小黄车).
I learned this a bit late — at around 7:30am — and almost missed the sunrise timing. Walking there in the early morning was very cold and takes about 30minutes for 1.5km. Luckily, I after walked for a while I met a very kind local let’s call him “小白车师傅” who had just dropped his child at school near the homestay. He generously gave me a free ride to the bridge. Thanks to him, I managed to make it in time.
Minor Miscommunication
At check-in, I was told there would be unlimited transfers to Shaxi Ancient Town, so I assumed that an early drop-off closer to the town (and then walking to the bridge) might be possible. However, in the morning, the owner needed to stay back to prepare breakfast and couldn’t leave. This was a small miscommunication, and it would be helpful if early-morning transport limitations were clarified more clearly in advance.
Overall Impression
Other than this minor issue, my stay at 沙溪归尘 was truly pleasant. The cleanliness, comfort, homemade breakfast, and thoughtful details made it a very warm and memorable experience. I would still happily recommend this homestay and would consider staying again — just with early transport planned ahead next time.

I'm already home but still thinking about my three days in Shaxi!!!
1. Location + Parking 🅿️: The guesthouse was very easy to find, and since we drove, we wanted a place with parking. There's a small road in front of the guesthouse where you can park, which was very convenient 😊.
2. Ambiance: As soon as we stepped out of the car and entered, we were pleasantly surprised. It's a very comfortable and stylish courtyard. When we didn't go out, sitting in the courtyard and having some tea was incredibly relaxing. I also loved the room's decor – it was clean, hygienic, and had a subtle, pleasant aroma. There were small tables and chairs outside the room where we could relax.
3. Service: The guesthouse owner, the front desk lady, and the auntie were all super nice and enthusiastic. They gave us great tips for exploring the ancient town, and their daily greetings felt like catching up with old friends. (The breakfast was really delicious!)
There's also a super cute cat named Huanhuan at the guesthouse!!!! So spiritual!! And very friendly!!! Every time I came back, I'd look for the cat first, haha!!!
Overall, it was a very happy and relaxing trip! If I get a chance to visit Shaxi again, I'll definitely stay here again 🥰.

Leh710I would like to give them 10/10 for everything. Their service and hospitality is above and beyond expectation. As foreigner travellers, their help means a lot to us.
Pros:
- perfect location. Car can access the inn's front door.
- room and facilities: well thought decoration with both modern equipment and traditional decoration items. Also have fridge and projector.
- food and drinks: complimentary soft drinks and mineral water are provided. Warm milk brought to room at night. Delicious home made breakfast with generous portion and lovely presentation.
- service: perfect and exceptional. They even helped me find car pool contacts for our travel from Lijiang to the inn and then to Dali, and received my online orders.
Cons: nothing.
I would love to go back to this place and will definitely recommend it to anyone. Also love Cola the cat 🥰

Guest UserFirst off, this guesthouse was really clean, and the room I randomly booked even had a small tea table. Secondly, the location is great. We initially chose it just to stay for a night because we wanted to visit Shaxi Ancient Town, but we unexpectedly met a really wonderful owner! In the evening, we couldn't get a taxi to the ancient town, so the guesthouse provided a car to take us there. Later, after we'd gone back to rest, the owner even messaged us to ask if we needed a ride back. Oh, and the guesthouse's own restaurant was also delicious; my sister and I had a fantastic lunch there.

This guesthouse was perfect for our relaxing family trip! We spent our days soaking up the sun, strolling through the ancient town, and then came back to cook up some meals in the kitchen. Their restaurant in the old town was delicious too. And their cat, Dingdang, was just the sweetest! The first thing he'd do every morning was come to 'our place' to beg for cat treats, haha. I really wanted to take him back to Chengdu with us, but he has a big yard at the guesthouse and the owners adore him. So, we bought him the cat food he was used to eating in our room and had it shipped to him. Next time we visit, he'll be 'Big Dingdang'!

An absolute hidden paradise that offers a complete escape from the world.
Nestled in Shaxi's Shilong Ancient Village, it's far removed from the hustle and bustle of the old town.
Built into the mountainside, it's deeply rooted amidst the forests.
Crafted using traditional local rammed earth construction techniques.
Open the window to a vista of green mountains, forests, fields, and a charming village.
The moment you step in, your heart instantly slows down.
All the restlessness, anxiety, and hurriedness of city life melt away.
The warm rammed earth walls, the rustic texture of natural wood.
The gentle breeze sweeps through the forest, creating a soft and peaceful ambiance.
It offers a rich, immersive experience of local culture.
Make traditional Bai ethnic Jima (paper horses), experience Bai traditional Songlong needlework, and hike through Bai villages.
While experiencing intangible cultural heritage, you also unlock new skills.
This makes travel more than just sightseeing; it's about truly feeling the local culture and way of life.
I will definitely come back here again!

A delightful surprise! This guesthouse is right next to the East Gate, and just a short walk from there you'll find Yujin Bridge and the ancient theater. It's a charming, rustic courtyard with warm and friendly service. In the morning, they serve delicious E'er rice noodles. I originally booked for one night but immediately extended for another after seeing the place. The front desk lady even upgraded my room to one with a small balcony. Right outside my back window was a bougainvillea wall, perfect for photos, and there was even an introduction to 'Jiama' (paper horses) on the wall. Every step in the ancient town offers a new scenic view. In the mornings and evenings, you can stroll outside the old town to admire the distant mountains and rice paddies. They even gave me a parking subsidy when I left. Shaxi is definitely worth staying in for a few extra days!

A fantastic experience, the most satisfying guesthouse I stayed at during my Yunnan trip. The decor was thoughtful, a blend of vintage and rustic styles, with freshly picked wildflowers in the room. The room layout was very practical. There was a small courtyard, and the rooms had large floor-to-ceiling windows offering expansive views of the fields and mountains. It's a little distance from the ancient town, but not far, and the owner helps arrange shared bikes, making it convenient to get around the surrounding area. The owner prepared the breakfast himself, and it was delicious. Staying here was incredibly relaxing; I was completely satisfied! 👍
