Guest UserI stayed here for four or five days straight, and it was truly wonderful! The shower had a huge overhead rainfall showerhead with great water pressure, and the room's soundproofing was excellent. Every morning, the landlady would prepare a lovely breakfast. The entire building probably only has six or seven rooms. There were too many people taking photos in the scenic area, so I ended up taking all my pictures downstairs at the guesthouse – they turned out great! The owner can offer pick-up and drop-off to Shaxi Ancient Town (it's very close), or you can use the guesthouse's electric scooter for free. The hotel's location is convenient for getting anywhere, and there's also free parking for cars, which was a lifesaver since we drove all the way from Dali Airport!

Du_xiaoyueThe best place to stay in Shaxi! This courtyard, hidden in the heart of the ancient town, opens up to the bustling local life, yet stepping inside brings instant tranquility. The wooden courtyard features koi fish swimming amidst lush greenery, while floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the sky and mountains. The amenities are top-notch: underfloor heating throughout, high-end bedding and toiletries. The thoughtful butler service includes pick-up/drop-off, authentic rice noodle breakfasts, and even a tea ceremony on rainy days – every detail shows great care. Sitting under the eaves at night, listening to the wind and rain, and waking up to the smell of rice fields and birdsong in the morning, this was the most therapeutic sanctuary of my trip. I'll definitely return to Tingyu Xiaozhu on my next visit to Shaxi.
What's most captivating is the ambiance evoked by the name 'Tingyu' (Listening to Whispers): Waking up to the calls of birds in the rice fields in the morning, watching clouds drift over the green mountains from the terrace in the afternoon, and listening to the rain tap on the green tiles at night – all the city's hustle and bustle is shut out here. The guest rooms are spacious and airy, with constant underfloor heating and soft bedding. After a day of hiking, returning to the courtyard feels like being instantly embraced by gentleness. The butler provides attentive care throughout, from luggage transfers and local tour guidance to seasonal welcome fruits and snacks, with every small detail easing travel fatigue.

Guest UserMy stay in Shaxi was made truly special and serene by choosing Kogonki. Even before I arrived, the butler thoughtfully added me on WeChat, reminding me that the ancient town's cobblestone paths aren't ideal for dragging luggage. He was already waiting at the drop-off point with a small trolley to pick us up. Stepping into this 140-year-old renovated ancestral home, you can feel the tranquil atmosphere that has settled over a century-old courtyard. The traditional Bai ethnic 'running horse turning corner' architecture has been meticulously restored, preserving its historical weight while injecting modern comfort. The room itself was full of thoughtful details, not only equipped with Hansgrohe bathroom fixtures, a Dyson humidifier, and Bulgari toiletries, but what was even more touching were the unexpected small items – a portable bag for outings came prepared with sunglasses, sunscreen spray, lip balm, and even a face mask, eye mask, and laundry detergent! Such meticulousness made me feel incredibly pampered. Every day, fresh fruit and an exquisite afternoon tea were provided, and after a tiring day of exploring, a warm bowl of sweet soup awaited us before bed. What was most unforgettable was the service; everyone was genuine and enthusiastic. The 24-hour butler response was incredibly prompt, and no matter what we needed, they were always patient. The Guoqiao rice noodles for breakfast were very authentic, and I heard it's considered the best breakfast in the ancient town. Located right in the center of the ancient town, it's just a stone's throw from the ancient opera stage and Yujin Bridge, making it effortless to immerse ourselves in Shaxi's slow-paced life. This isn't just a hotel; it feels more like a warm home in Shaxi. The next time I return to Shaxi, I will definitely choose to stay here again.

This guesthouse has a story to tell. There's a 530-year-old ancient tree right by the entrance, home to a family of squirrels. As soon as I entered the room, I found a pair of chestnut-dyed cloth squirrels placed on the bed. Lying on the third-floor bed, the old tree glowed with life under the setting sun. The indigo-dyed soft couch on the terrace made me fall in love with Yunnan's sunshine, and the abundant flowers and plants everywhere showed the owner's passion for life. The guesthouse manager and the young lady's tea and dishes were unforgettable; that elegant, down-to-earth charm makes me want to return to this place again and again.

DudushigetangtangaihaozheThe room was quite spacious, which was great for my kids to move around freely. The owner was incredibly friendly and thoughtful. We stayed for two nights with my elderly parents and children, and it was a very pleasant experience. The guesthouse's courtyard is beautiful, with a lovely traditional Chinese wooden style, and the rooms are equipped with Xiaomi AI smart controls. If you're not sure where to eat, be sure to ask the owner – their recommendations are fantastic! For those driving, there's no need to worry about parking as the hotel has its own private underground parking, which is very convenient.

Shuaiqidexiaohouzhi827It was super convenient to get back to the hotel after exploring the ancient town. The design is really impressive, with a natural wood and Song Dynasty-inspired aesthetic that perfectly matches Shaxi's rustic charm. The courtyard with its flowing water, wooden corridors, and the gentle, Zen-like atmosphere as soon as you open the door is just lovely 🍃. The room was spacious and comfortable, the bedding was so soft, and the bathroom facilities were convenient and clean. After a shower, curling up in bed and watching 'Meet Yourself' just melted away all the day's fatigue. There's 24-hour butler service and afternoon tea upon check-in – sipping tea, listening to the wind, and watching the fish play in the pond amidst the misty atmosphere was truly relaxing 🐟. Waking up early, enjoying breakfast, and then just gazing out the window at the scenery, listening to the wind and rain, is truly living that slow-paced 'wind-filled' life.

As a frequent traveler, Changle Li Guesthouse felt wonderfully warm, natural, and poetic. The classical decor and comprehensive facilities created a perfect ambiance. I drifted off to sleep under a canopy of stars and woke up to the soothing chirping of insects. The breakfast was uniquely delightful, and the service was exceptionally thoughtful. Behind the guesthouse, Kuidou Teahouse is a protected cultural heritage site, where one can burn incense, savor tea, and even practice calligraphy. I'll definitely be staying for a month next time!

We have been traveling in china for a month now and this has been the best stay ...we are repeat cutomers mostly because of how warm the hosts are.
The place is beautiful and well-maintained.
All the creature comforts like electric blankets ,heated toilet seat ,hot shower ,daily houekeeping .
The house is traditional bai style and very beautifully kept...with rows of flowers in the central courtyard and special touch by the hosts like art on walls and pieces of decor.
Easy Access to all view points in the town.

A fantastic experience, the most satisfying guesthouse I stayed at during my Yunnan trip. The decor was thoughtful, a blend of vintage and rustic styles, with freshly picked wildflowers in the room. The room layout was very practical. There was a small courtyard, and the rooms had large floor-to-ceiling windows offering expansive views of the fields and mountains. It's a little distance from the ancient town, but not far, and the owner helps arrange shared bikes, making it convenient to get around the surrounding area. The owner prepared the breakfast himself, and it was delicious. Staying here was incredibly relaxing; I was completely satisfied! 👍
