The inn is located in the center of Shaxi Town. The housekeeper said that he would pick us up at the parking lot near the main temple, but we were too confident and missed the nearest intersection by navigating. After walking around Dongzhaimen, we called the housekeeper and found the inn quickly after being pointed out. So next time, remember to ask the inn to pick us up. The room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete, and the service is good. It is quiet in the bustling area, and it is very close to the ancient theater, Dongzhaimen, and Yujin Bridge.

Before our family of three visited Shaxi Ancient Town, we called Mr. Zhao, the owner of the guesthouse, for advice. He explained the location and surrounding area in detail, which convinced us to book immediately. On the day of our arrival, Mr. Zhao called in advance to inquire about our itinerary, reserve a parking space, and even waited at the door to help with our luggage. He also thoughtfully introduced the facilities and travel tips. The guesthouse is only a few minutes' walk from the ancient town, and parking is available right outside, which is incredibly convenient for traveling with a child. The courtyard is elegant and clean, and our child loved it as soon as we entered. The tatami area in the first-floor room was perfect for our child to play and relax while we chatted and drank tea without disturbing each other. In the morning, we could see the garden view from the window, and the breakfast prepared by the owner's wife was also very satisfying for our child. This thoughtfulness from booking to check-in made our trip full of warmth. If you're going to Shaxi, this guesthouse is definitely worth considering; it will surely give you a comfortable experience.

Guest UserStepping into Shaxi Ancient Town felt like embracing a gentle dream, a delightful surprise on my solo journey. This hidden gem of a guesthouse, near the North Gate, is truly special. Sunlight filters beautifully through the wooden window frames, perfect for lingering all morning. Open the door and you're greeted by a flagstone path and the charm of an old alley, with picturesque photo spots everywhere. It's super convenient too; Sifangtai and Yulu Bridge are just a short walk away. The room itself was quiet and cozy, with a super soft mattress that smelled like it had been sun-dried. The owner is incredibly warm and thoughtful, a sensitive and kind young woman who takes amazing photos. Her pour-over coffee and teas are fantastic, and all her recommendations for local Yunnan snacks and dishes were spot on – not a single bad pick!

Highly recommend! First off, the location is excellent; taxis can drop you right at the entrance, so no dragging luggage around. The room is very new, and the facilities are complete and well-arranged. Stepping out of the door into the small courtyard is just pure bliss. Plus, the landlady's breakfast is incredibly delicious—a warm bowl of rice noodles to start a happy day in Shaxi. I'll definitely come back and stay longer next time.

This guesthouse truly lives up to its name, 'Absolute Art,' and is undoubtedly a masterpiece created by cultural figures and artists. It beautifully blends rich local ethnic charm with a distinctive artistic aesthetic. From the public areas to the rooms, downstairs to upstairs, and from every wall, door, and window to each stair, table, chair, tree, flower, and blade of grass, everything is a vibrant, meticulously arranged picture. It's no wonder it's become a popular photo spot in Shaxi.
However, since it's a renovation of an old house, the bathroom is a bit small, and some facilities are lacking. Also, during the peak Chinese New Year period, driving in and out and parking were a bit challenging, and unfortunately, we had to pay for parking. The hotel staff, though seemingly few, were all very enthusiastic. They guided our car from outside the village into town and helped us find a parking spot, gave detailed instructions on using the various room facilities, and assisted with luggage during pick-up and drop-off. Coupled with its excellent location in the heart of the ancient town, making it incredibly convenient for exploring and dining, this is definitely the top accommodation choice in Shaxi Ancient Town!

Guest UserThe courtyard is absolutely beautiful! My sister recommended this place, and it truly is stunning. It's even more delightful in person, and the room was spotlessly clean with all the necessary disposables. My friend and I didn't bring much, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that the toiletries were from well-known brands, making us feel very comfortable and at ease. In the mornings, some tourists would take photos by the courtyard entrance, but the owner would politely ask them to keep their voices down so as not to disturb our rest. We even locked ourselves out late at night, and the owner, being incredibly kind, came out to help us open the door. Honestly, it's just a fantastic place, I loved it and will definitely be back!

Guest UserThis was a spur-of-the-moment trip, and I randomly booked this guesthouse, never expecting it to be such a pleasant surprise. The facilities aren't luxurious, but they perfectly capture the authentic charm of Shaxi – adobe walls and traditional tiles are exactly what a historic town should look like. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and gave me a detailed rundown of all the must-see spots in the ancient town, even providing a schedule for the best photo opportunities. They were more helpful than reliable sources! And don't even get me started on the chicken noodle soup for breakfast the next day – it was absolutely divine! I wolfed down two bowls and completely forgot to snap a picture. 😂

🏮 The best B&B in Shaxi Ancient Town! No exaggeration! 🌟
I booked Cai Xia Man Tian Inn for my trip to Shaxi Ancient Town with a 'let's try it out' mindset, and I was completely won over! This was definitely the biggest surprise of my trip and the best B&B I've ever stayed in, hands down! 💯
👩🦰 About the Hostess
I have to give a special shout-out to the hostess! She was absolutely wonderful – professional, meticulous, and incredibly warm and attentive. From the booking communication to check-in, she was all smiles, enthusiastic and kind. She patiently explained the best ways to explore Shaxi and even recommended Xibao Restaurant, which was absolutely delicious! She also gave us helpful travel tips, making us feel completely at home and wonderfully cared for! ❤️
🏡 About the Environment and Room
The B&B's environment was exactly my style – ancient yet elegant. Red earth walls paired with wooden structures, a courtyard filled with greenery, and meticulous details everywhere; you could tell a lot of thought went into it.
The room was absolutely flawless! Spacious and comfortable, with incredibly soft bedding that ensured a fantastic night's sleep. What surprised me most was the attention to detail; every decoration was tasteful, showing genuine care. Staying there was so relaxing, I really didn't want to leave! 🛌
This experience was truly perfect. If I come back to Shaxi, this will definitely be my first choice! Go for it, you won't be disappointed! 👍

Guest User”The location is very convenient, close to many scenic spots in Jianchuan! The rice noodles and side dishes for breakfast are authentic, and it's especially pleasant to drink tea and watch the stars in the courtyard at night. It's great value for money, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Jianchuan!”

Guest UserThe cobblestone streets in the ancient town make it difficult to pull luggage, so it's a good idea to contact the hotel in advance for help with luggage. It's an old wooden building with relatively narrow stairs. However, the room is very well-ventilated – opening the window feels great, and privacy isn't an issue with the nearby buildings. The only thing is that the wooden building has poor soundproofing at night, which the front desk staff will warn you about. If noise is an issue, they'll help communicate with other guests, which is very thoughtful. It's also very close to the Didi bus pick-up point, making it convenient for heading to Lijiang the next day.
