"for one of the PH rooms, there was a problem with the door lock, you need to double check before leaving. good thing i was quick as i just needed to buy water from a nearby convenience store.
room is spacious and clean, but although they do provide shampoo, small soap, and dental kit, they do not provide slippers.
no table for study/work, the table on the side was used for mugs and kettle, and for mini refrigerator. i used the table under the tv instead.
on the PH floor, there's a dedicated outdoor smoking area.
Hotel has good location, close to many establishments around the poblacion area."

RRoninironini+location is a good if your purpose is to party within poblacion area.
-location is not good if party is not your main reason for staying in lubd. Party noise until 3am. I’m in 4th flr but I still hear the music & vibrating sound from outside.
+ amenities is good
+ staff are all nice and accommodating
+ I like that they have water dispenser in each floor.
- shared bathroom can be much cleaner.
+ shared bathroom has the ironing facility, washer and dryer
+ dorm beds are very spacious
+ luggage area are also spacious
- the curtains in the dorm beds are odd length.
AAnonymous UserRoom is spacious and clean (except for the couch that feels dusty and starting to smell).
Reception can improve. We arrived early and were told we will be texted once the room is available which is fine. They never texted, tho.

RRays of SunshinePool on the roof with a great view and sent help right away when front desk contacted! Very comfortable for a family. We stayed over new year and enjoyed a great fireworks show through the window. Walking distance to great restaurants and Century Mall. Extremely helpful, polite and friendly staff
NNeilmar The ExplorerGreat value central crash pad, but pack your own toothbrush!
Review:
I booked a quick overnight stay (less than 12 hours) at Red Planet Makati Avenue and for a solo traveler on a budget, it's a solid choice.
The Good:
· Staff & Security: Top marks here. The front desk was welcoming and the check-in process was impressively quick and efficient. The security guards were absolute gems—very proactive in helping lift luggage in and out of taxis without even being asked.
· Location: You cannot beat this location. It’s absolutely central Makati, putting you steps away from the best restaurants, shopping malls, and massage spots.
The Not-So-Good:
· Hallway Odor: The main drawback was the smell in the hallway leading to the room. It had a distinct, stale sweat odor that seemed to be coming from the carpet. I didn't have the energy to report it at midnight, but it’s very noticeable the moment you step off the elevator.
· Amenities: This is a no-frills hotel (which I knew), but just a heads-up: toiletries are extremely limited. There was no toothbrush or disposable slippers provided, so bring your own essentials.
Verdict:
Overall, 8/10. If you're a solo traveler or a cheapskate looking for a short stay with incredible value for money in the heart of Makati, Red Planet is a must-try. Just hold your breath in the hallway and bring your own toothbrush.
PPJ DebandinaHotel is perfectly located in Poblacion. Staff are pretty awesome. Request for quiet room away from the street.. Nice pool.. Just note, security can be very strict.
GGuest UserGreat little hotel in a great location
Service is top notch
The entrance of the hotel is old and the smell of the lobby is bad I believe bc is old .
The staff are always doing a major effort and they’re cleaning all the time .
You cannot feel that smell in your room but you can hear when people are loud from your room .

GGuest UserWe had an excellent stay at Herald Suites Solana! The food was nice, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable experience — highly recommended!
GGuest UserGood location. Almost central of everything. Few steps away from malls, convenience store and beauty salons. The building is old and rooms need some enhancements. There is only 1 working elevator for the whole building serving 25 floors. The second elevator is being replaced and will hopefully be done end of 2026.
However, we need to call to make them aware we need the lift so they can go to our floor to get us. The staff are very attentive and friendly and are doing their best to help and make our stay comfortable and easy.

RRobS.I have travelled a fair bit and feel that I have a good handle how things are. This hotel has Best Western as part of the name so I expected a certain level. I could see that the hotel was probably a higher end hotel, the lobby showed high end finishes and this was probably a 200+ room hotel when built. It has suffered a fair bit of age related issues and the room finishes are quite tired. I noticed on floor 9, 3 rooms together had obviously been flooded and not repaired. The smell of damaged materials was quite strong (lower parts of the doors were heavily water damaged and there were towels damming the thresholds).
My room on a different floor was fine but I did have multiple legged friends in my room and the sheets were grey from multiple washings and lastly, the area is the seamy side of Makati (Manila) and is not the best.
Okay, that is the list of cons, now for the pros, price was very reasonable, the staff was good in any interactions I had and if you want the seamy side, the location....is excellent. There are lots of bars nearby and multiple actually quite good restaurants including directly across the street, The Filling Station, a throwback to the 1950s us type Diner. Lots of fun and the food is quite good.
I will mention that the gym is quite good and I did use it. The gym Airton has apparently had the refrigerant leaked off so it doesn't work. I was told a lot of the rooms have been sold as condos so I found the hotel to be quiet, good amenities for a good price but it is tired.
Overall I'm going to rate this a high three star hotel because you kind of get something a little bit more for quite a reasonable price so it is a bargain and is not the slum that other cheap hotels often are. Yes, I would definitely stay again.
