"The room was clean and tidy, and it was very quiet at night. It was a bit inconvenient that bottled water wasn't provided in the room. There's a jellyfish bar and a smoking area on the rooftop, which is lovely for a drink and some fresh air in the evening. Plus, there's a Lanzhou La Mian noodle restaurant downstairs, so grabbing a bite to eat is easy."

"The facilities are quite old. The room size is decent, and the location is excellent. There's a huge mall right across the street with plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options. The breakfast is pretty bad, honestly, you're better off skipping it."

"This is a classic hotel, well located, full service (though a little slow at times) and it was very busy when we were there at Chinese New Year. The staff are friendly and helpful. This room was small but comfortable. Breakfast is fabulous but be careful of the queues (as well as when checking in and out). The gym is well stocked and the pool area is pleasant although the pool is a little small. The food is good all round. It is conveniently located next to the giant malls of Makati where there is plenty to eat and shop! I enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The lobby is lovely."

"The most affordable Peninsula I've stayed at. On the day I checked in, there was a wedding or some event in the lobby, which made for a very poor experience. Checking in was a hassle, having to walk all around. The exterior is still quite grand, but the facilities inside are a bit outdated."

"The hotel review: My experience at this Shangri-La property was not as good as others in the region. The building and facilities feel noticeably older, which affects the overall stay. In the room, the air conditioning was not adjustable. I do appreciate that the team promptly sent a technician to check it, but the unit remained very loud throughout the night, cycling on and off every few minutes, which made it difficult to sleep. Traveling with another friend, her room also encountered an issue with the bathtub water appearing brown, which technician conclude that is due to sediment buildup. Overall, I would recommend choosing the Shangri-La in BGC instead, as it offers a better experience."

"For a 5 star hotel, the service is very annoying. They would call me randomly to ask for feedback a few hours after I checked in. They would knock on my door early in the morning while I'm still sleeping to do a ”room check”... On the day of my check out, I had a knock on the door a bit past 9am, I ignored it as I was still in bed but they kept ringing the bell. I finally got up and the lady asked ”is there anything I can help with?”. Yes leave me alone. I went back to bed to rest and then got a phone call soon after as a reminder that check out is at 12pm. It's not even 10am yet and your staff already interrupted my sleep twice. Trying to get the room clean involves multiple phone calls. Once I left it to see how long it would take but at 6pm, I had to call since they never came during the day. Another time they cleaned, the cleaners said they ran out of towels so there would be someone who would deliver soon. I forgot about it until we went to have a shower and then it took almost an hour for the towels to arrive so we had to wait to use the bathroom as they took away the dirty towels so we didn't have anything to dry ourselves. Don't order room service. The food is very bad. I actually gagged on a drink they prepared. The TV is very old, they are still using cable technology. WiFi is patchy. Trying to get up and down the lift is a nightmare if you come at the wrong time as the line gets backed up all the way out into the street. My girlfriend was stopped by over eager security staff when she was trying to leave to buy some snacks as the room service meals were so bad even tho she had a room key and they would not let her up to the lobby on the 6th floor without me. Instead, I had to go down and pick her up from the ground floor where she was sitting in the corner like she was in trouble."

"This hotel is really great, especially how quiet it is. The service is attentive, not too much and not too little, just right. The location is also excellent and convenient. It's not far to walk to Green Belt Park or Triangle Park, and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby too."

"I stayed at Oakwood Makati for a week, and it felt like home! The rooms are more like apartments, with all the comforts of home, including a kitchenette, and even a washing machine. The location is ideal, 20-30 minutes to Greenbelt and Glorietta, so I had no trouble finding places to eat and shop. The staff was very accommodating and made sure I had everything I needed. There’s even a nice pool and gym on-site. If you want a comfortable stay with a homey feel, Oakwood is the place to be."

"Stayed at Fairmont Makati for a quick trip and everything was great. The location is super convenient—right next to Greenbelt and other malls. The room was clean, cozy, and quiet. What made it extra special was that they surprised me with birthday snacks in the room. It was such a nice touch and really made my day. Staff were all really kind and helpful too. Would definitely come back."
