GGuest UserHotel room is small but overall the facilities in the hotel room are decent. The hotel receptionists are helpful and the hotel room is clean. Location wise is near to Taichung train station, but not so favorable for me as it’s not near to the high speed rail station or any other tourist spots except Miyahara ice cream. Breakfast can also be improved further.

CChenPeiRuThe front desk staff were incredibly thoughtful. Knowing we needed a room suitable for a balloon setup, they specifically picked the perfect one for us. The room even had a fish pond, and they provided a bag of fish food so we could feed the fish while bathing – it was so relaxing! The breakfast was a fantastic mix of Chinese and Western styles!
P.S. We packed up the balloons ourselves afterwards, so we didn't trouble the housekeeping staff. The hotel mentioned there'd be a 500 cleaning fee if they handled it, which is totally understandable. 😊

Room is good size for 4 adults and clean huge bathroom with 2 basins :)
The breakfast spread is awesome and with a good variety.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very good value for money. The room was surprisingly large, and the bed was huge, perfectly sized for a family of three. The staff were quick to bring extra towels and blankets, and there was no charge for charging your electric car. Excellent!

AAnonymous UserLocation - I’m not sure if we just missed out on what’s nearby. But we did walk on the sides, we were searching around of what’s there to see. We didn’t see much, like we realized after walking for a few minutes that we just found the convenient store which is kinda far if that was the nearest available (or again, there could be one the other side we don’t know haha).
So after walking around, and realizing there’s nothing much to see. We already booked an Uber going to the night market.
It wasn’t that far from the HSR Station. I couldn’t remember the exact distance and travel time. But if I find it far I’d normally remember it and say it.
Service - it was an easy check-in and check-out. Though, I almost forgot to get a receipt. Had to proactively ask for one. Luckily we decided to stay for a bit after checking out, we remembered it and got to request for it.
I like how they already asked upon checking in if we need a room cleaning service. That was convenient.
The breakfast was so so (on my personal taste bud). Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t that bad.
I love the room the most! We were happy about how spacious it is. And it has an AI box which we loved. The bathtub has a tv, the shower area was spacious, the ambience of the room, hallways and lobby. The free snacks. The brand of the body wash and conditioner. The free Nescafe machine in the lobby.
I’d definitely recommend it and I’d stay here again.
(Though I still have a pending concern that I have to figure out myself, cause the amount showing in the invoice was different from the amount showing on tha app. Haven’t checked how much was the final amount taken out on my card)

GGuest UserThe Plaza Hotel is actually an older, well-established brand in Taichung. Its location is quite good, and the entire hotel has been recently renovated, so it's still very spacious and clean. It's conveniently located in the city center, making it easy to get to Fengjia Night Market, the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, the new Hanshin Department Store, or Shinkong Mitsukoshi in the 7th Redevelopment Zone. There's parking available on-site. The hotel also offers breakfast, but you can choose a room-only option if you prefer not to have it. Definitely recommended!

MmegggggThe parking lot is super convenient, and the parking spaces are really big. The room and the bathroom in the room are both huge.
Having simple late-night snacks and breakfast included is incredibly convenient and delicious. Plus, with a 12 PM checkout, you can sleep in a bit, which is perfect for anyone who doesn't want to get up too early when they're on vacation.

There were mosquitoes on the bedsheets. The wallpaper in the corner was bubbling. The corner of the desk was moldy. The air conditioning had a slight musty smell. The shower water pressure was unstable, and it kept switching between hot and cold. There was a pair of slippers under the bed that didn't belong to me. The sink in the bathroom had some black unknown substance and an odor.
On the positive side, you can borrow extra pillows, and the location is super convenient. If you're not particular about cleanliness, you might consider staying here.

GGuest UserAssistance is barely available. I stayed there 5 nights and went in and out of the hotel multiple times everyday but I only saw the receptionist at the front desk once when I checked in. I called a few times the front desk from my room but it is answered also only once. I eventually complained to the receptionist when she eventually showed up knowing I’m furious at the lobby. Upon communication, I got to know that one single receptionist is responsible for assisting the entire hotel having roughly 100 rooms while serving the reception role. How stingy the management can be?! Overloading a frontline staff with frontline communication and room services?!
This is especially frustrating when I need help to fix the WiFi as a business traveller staying in a business hotel. The WiFi is instable and dropped off twice within half an hour on 2 days, which is a disaster for my real-time work. The receptionist did try her best to spend 45 mins to help, which I appreciate, but the hotel needs a better router and/or network provider. Eventually I used my own internet data instead. How pricy!
The plug can’t charge my phone. Overnight, the battery goes from 7% to only 40%. The mat has a lot of stain on it. It doesn’t smell but looks unpleasant.
