5-Star Hotels in Taichung

I wrote in my initial booking that this was an Anniversary trip, I was quite surprised that the hotel did not do nor acknowledge such things and that quite bothered me. First impressions do lasts and I also had an incident in their restaurant that serves buffet, where there was a insect (almost cockroach like) in the soup which was honestly very shocking for a 5 star restaurant but the recovery of how they handled was not great and no follow up was done. Overall, I wasn’t as happy staying here as I thought I would. But I won’t definitely be coming back.

Overall, I was quite disappointed. Right from check-in, the staff couldn't find my reservation, and they even asked for my surname in English, and the number and gender of guests, which was a bit odd. I noticed a lot of things because I was waiting for my luggage in the lobby for a very long time. The seating area around the art installation in the lobby was dusty, especially the back rows, and the outdoor area was full of fallen leaves. While I was busy with my child and family arranging crafts, my luggage had already been taken to the room. When I realized I needed my carry-on bag, the staff said they would retrieve it from the room for me (we hadn't even checked into the room yet). I had a carry-on with my child's daily essentials, and my child needed to use the restroom. So, we waited in the lobby for that bag for nearly 20 minutes. Regarding the other facilities, the welcome tea was incredibly simple. The window in our room had large water stains on the glass (I initially thought it was fog). Below our room, there was an area with weeds and what looked like abandoned moss, which felt out of place. It seemed like the most effort the hotel put in was the gardening, and I couldn't understand why this particular area existed; it was a huge contrast. Considering all meal costs are extra, it really didn't offer good value for money at all. The food, however, was very good, and the laundry service was a plus. All the staff members were friendly and welcoming. If the room rates were lower, I might consider revisiting. But if the prices and facilities remain as they are, I won't be returning.

The staff are friendly, room is clean, good location. There is a bus stop close by, and the fair is very affordable.

Great hotel that is family friendly. Hotel buffet offers a good spread. The indoor playground at the hotel is huge and always well sanitized. Amazing kids haven. The flexibility for breakfast to be taken after check out is well appreciated and thoughtful

It was a theme park hotel. Very far from town. The hotel was not a bad one, the facilities inside are good, but it can be better for the price range. The theme park is very old, and rather run down, some equipments were closed and abandoned with rust... not a bad one, but consider the price paid, it was not value for money...will revisit if the theme park go thru major renovation.

The location is a bit remote, which is inconvenient if you don't have your own car. While the hotel has both Chinese and Western restaurants, the Western one is closed on certain days. Without a reservation, finding a table for lunch at the Chinese restaurant can be difficult, potentially forcing you to dine elsewhere. The bathroom facilities are old and outdated, and there weren't enough towels provided. There's a public recreational area with some activities suitable for children and young adults. The private soaking tub in the room, where you can bathe at your leisure, is the only redeeming feature.

The clubhouse is located in the Zhengguguan hot spring area, near many hiking trails, easy to choose. Before bathing or staying, you can come to exercise, after walking the trail and then bathing will be more comfortable. There is no parking lot in the clubhouse itself, only on both sides of the road. However, the operator will first occupy the roadside location, first to not seem to be able to stop first, but basically no problem parking. The hot spring pool is a pool made of gravel, which is less likely to slip but the cleanliness is more remarkable. This time, because there were few travelers staying, breakfast was changed to a restaurant on the first floor. Although it is also buffet style, the dishes are obviously much less, and without the top floor favorite dining beauty, a little disappointed.
