Luxury Hotels in Taichung

"Overall, I was quite disappointed. Right from check-in, the staff couldn't find my reservation, and they even asked for my surname in English, and the number and gender of guests, which was a bit odd. I noticed a lot of things because I was waiting for my luggage in the lobby for a very long time. The seating area around the art installation in the lobby was dusty, especially the back rows, and the outdoor area was full of fallen leaves. While I was busy with my child and family arranging crafts, my luggage had already been taken to the room. When I realized I needed my carry-on bag, the staff said they would retrieve it from the room for me (we hadn't even checked into the room yet). I had a carry-on with my child's daily essentials, and my child needed to use the restroom. So, we waited in the lobby for that bag for nearly 20 minutes. Regarding the other facilities, the welcome tea was incredibly simple. The window in our room had large water stains on the glass (I initially thought it was fog). Below our room, there was an area with weeds and what looked like abandoned moss, which felt out of place. It seemed like the most effort the hotel put in was the gardening, and I couldn't understand why this particular area existed; it was a huge contrast. Considering all meal costs are extra, it really didn't offer good value for money at all. The food, however, was very good, and the laundry service was a plus. All the staff members were friendly and welcoming. If the room rates were lower, I might consider revisiting. But if the prices and facilities remain as they are, I won't be returning."

"I had such a great stay at Taichung Oku Hotel! The place has a super stylish design—everything feels modern and chic, which made the whole vibe really enjoyable. My room was spacious and comfy, way bigger than I expected, so it was perfect for relaxing after a day out in Taichung. The guest service team was fantastic too—friendly, helpful, and always ready to make things easier. They really added to the experience and made me feel welcome. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I’d definitely come back again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a hotel that combines great style, comfort, and service!"

"The go-to hotel for anyone who visits Taichung. Great location (opposite to the hotel, there is FamilyMart and lots of good restaurants, near to the famous Feng Jia Night Market and other understated but beautiful parks and National Taichung Theatre), friendly service, and clean/spacious room. Definitely a premium hotel which is priced very reasonably. Will come back again!"

"The room was spacious and comfortable, and the service and cleanliness were excellent. The hotel's location is superb, right opposite the train station, and within walking distance to Miyahara Eye Hospital. The price was reasonable too. Definitely my top choice when visiting Taichung."

"I wrote in my initial booking that this was an Anniversary trip, I was quite surprised that the hotel did not do nor acknowledge such things and that quite bothered me. First impressions do lasts and I also had an incident in their restaurant that serves buffet, where there was a insect (almost cockroach like) in the soup which was honestly very shocking for a 5 star restaurant but the recovery of how they handled was not great and no follow up was done. Overall, I wasn’t as happy staying here as I thought I would. But I won’t definitely be coming back."

"I prefer the B block building room versus block A .  Room is darker and colder for this room that I stayed. Currently there is construction ongoing next door but is quiet enough . For the price I paid . I can’t say much too . Surrounding has decent nice breakfast joint and others.  Walk less than 10 mins u can try different food .  Can stay if you getting block B."

"This was my first time bringing my mom to Taichung, and we chose to stay at the Howard Plaza Hotel Taichung. The room was huge, with two large beds, easily accommodating four people. It's truly great value for money. I'll definitely choose to stay at the Howard Plaza Hotel again next time I'm in Taichung."

"Very beautiful hotel. Staff were courteous. There is a KFC next to the hotel and a family mart nearby. Outside the hotel ,you can bus no.5 to taichung station. Overall I am very satified with my stay there."

"Whenever I'm on a business trip to Taichung, I always stay here. I used to stay at the Howard Plaza Hotel next door, but ever since I discovered this place, there's been no looking back. I love that they have a sauna, and the rooms are spacious, quiet, with a minimalist design, and an open view. The breakfast buffet is also quite good. Once, I chatted with a guest in the elevator who turned out to be a local resident. He uses this hotel as his 'Club House,' coming here for the gym, sauna, and swimming pool – it seems like a great option for him too."
