GGuest UserJAL's service really deserves a thumbs up; many Chinese service industries could learn from them. My earring fell into the sink, and I'd pretty much given up hope. But the lady at the front desk and a gentleman went to great lengths to help me find it. I'm so grateful!

JJethro_NganThe hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from Kumamoto Castle. It's also right next to Shimotori Shopping Street and Tsuruya Department Store, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. We stayed here for 3 nights, using it as a base to visit Mount Aso and Takachiho Gorge. The only minor downside is that the hotel doesn't have its own parking, so we had to find a spot nearby.

GGuest UserI stayed with my parents, and the location was great, right behind Suizenji Park, within walking distance. Dinner was also delicious, with a sophisticated flavor that adults will love. There was a hot spring and a family bath, and the shared bath was clean. I would definitely stay at this inn again if I visit Kumamoto again.

GGuest UserThe hotel employees all of them were showed a good attitude and communication was no problem for foreigners.
The location is great — it’s close to Kumamoto Castle, and there’s a shopping mall just about a 10-minute walk away.
I made a reservation for a triple room for two nights. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, and the air conditioner could not adjust the airflow direction, which caused us to catch a cold.
One more thing, the room key had to be returned and kept at the counter whenever we went out for the day.

AAnonymous UserFor the amount we paid, it was really a good place to stay and an amazing experience! Top 3 experiences:
1. We stayed in the Kumamon room and it was so adorable! It was Kuamamon themed and had a giant Kuamamon plushie which kept us company during our stay.
2. There was a really nice gentleman working at the car park who went out of his way to help us. For instance, he walked/ ran the few hundred meters to show us the way to the nearest carpark we could park at. I had also left my coffee behind in the lobby after checking in, but he saw it and remembered it was me who was holding onto the coffee, and got the hotel staff to keep it for me. The moment he saw me in the lobby after, he immediately told me my coffee was kept for me. I was very touched because he did not need to do any of that. Sadly, I didn't see him before I left or I would have gotten his name.
3. Free postcards that the hotel staff would mail for you! It was nice receiving it about a few weeks after the trip; brought back some good memories!
Absolutely would recommend staying at Mitsui Garden Kumamoto if you have the chance!

AAnonymous Userconvenient location and very clean and large room. washing machine was a huge help, and the lack of a dryer was not an issue at all as previously feared because their bathroom heater / air dryer was more than sufficient. will stay again
